We need extra money and Social Security checks for SSI,SSD and veterans and we need a stimulus check to hold us by. We need to hear some good news for the people that really need help like us people as SISD and the ssi veterans.

That's a nice letter, however maybe add to PLEASE add wording to a bill that states when we receive the cola adjustment, that it isn't counted as income along with the $200.00 increase. As every time we receive a cola increase, it is literally taken away in an increase in Medicare premiums, our snap benefit goes down, our housing rent and section 8 goes up, people that have purchase of care their part of the bill increases, the list goes on and on. It's like we are given with one hand and you take it back and more with the other, and we are worse off than before.

It's a great letter but I honestly can't live on what I get from SSI...my rent alone was just raised to $975. That's more than what my check is. They need to bring us to a least the poverty level instead of us living in poverty and facing homelessness. God bless you and your family and thank you for all you do for the community.

There's no help around here. Section 8 waiting list is over 3 years long and so is the waiting list to even get into a development. I'm truly starting to feel discriminated against. I have seen so many people apply and get right in. It's truly sad

I'm sorry things are so messed up there three years is nothing though sweetie I had to wait 7 to get on the off the list into a place so and I did I lived from couch to couch from different people's because my family is so messed up that there was no way I would stay there with my grandson and yes I raised my grandson so I get that. But keep it up don't give up that 3 years will go fast believe me I wish I only had three years but now since I got in I have been here 9 years going on 10 and I'm not giving that up for anybody. I'm sorry to hear that your state doesn't do anything to help you but there's got to be something more out there for us to get our teeth into to be able to get into places and hang on to them I know living with someone else is very difficult

Sounds good but with SSI having different amounts per person all should be brought up to the federal poverty level and the minimum of snaps should be about 250 or 300 that's cause of the high cost

Hi Matt and Corey. I really love the letter you wrote. It speaks volumes for the needs of us in this community. I'm a disabled senior who had to move far away from my family to a much cheaper place to live just to have a roof over my head. I can barely afford my rent, utilities and food on the small income I have to survive on every month. It's really sad that our government puts us, who are on a low fixed income last. Help goes to other countries continuously and we are always forgotten. Thank you for your time and effort that you have sacrificed for helping us in most need.
