Shout out to all the Geomatics students and all the land Surveyors out there🙌. I appreciate this video there are not many Land Surveyors out and im pretty proud to be one of this very small percentage.
Michigan, where one day you're surveying in sunny 80 degree weather, and the next day is 30 degree and snowing!
I’m looking at becoming a land surveyor. Thank you for posting these videos so I can actually see what y’all do.
Im a land surveyor, and a hunter. Respect for caring about anothers deer season. Courtesy like that is lacking today.
I work for a survey company in KY. Was searching for survey videos and there aren't many. I appreciate u showing what we do. We don't do public land surveys, so its interesting seeing what u do. We do metes and bounds.
Wish more people would watch what u do, cause they have no idea the terrain we have to traverse to do the job everyday. They wonder why it costs actual money! Ha!
I am currently pursuing a surveying degree in northeast Ky. What part of the state do you work in?
@@natestone6570 hardin county and surrounding counties
All that and then some, lieca is good equipment. I have done it all. And I loved it,different her in Texas. Keep up the good work.
I’ll be starting an entry level surveying position here soon in Houston. Thank you for posting these. Makes me excited to get to it
goodluck! I hope you are enjoying your time! Would love to hear your experiences so far.
- A future land surveyor.
Keep it up. Been doing it for 4 or 5 years, about to become a Crew Chief.
Never seen a bearing tree in the Florida swamps, that’s awesome. We do references obviously, but to have signs like that is nice.
Oh man I’d take that cabin! Just interviewed with a firm in NE Ohio, hoping this will be my journey here soon.
Best of luck
I love Manistee, good Salmon fishin there too.
Thanks for the video. I'm thinking of becoming a surveyor so this was interesting to see. Also, you have a nice beard.
9:38 thanks for explaining the BASE.
Yeah I’ve done a lot of work for the us forest service locate those bearing trees
I liked your survey parcticcal good sir
I'd be more worried about ticks than black bears! Though I do love hiking and camping in Michigan since the risk of encountering either ticks or bears are relatively low compared to Wisconsin.
I wonder how long it took to do all this field work 😆, very nice
Same. Of course I do Civil 3D in the actual office.
No GPS back when I did it . A lot tougher job before GPS .
What is the difference between a plane surveyor and a geodetic surveyor?
Do they work off the same benchmarks? I need to hire a surveyor. I can use some clarification.
I had no idea that an RTK GNSS is considered survey grade. That’s good to know!
Yes, now modern GNSS equipments has a better accuracy like 1 inch in horizontal and 2 inches in vertical
That cabin is Bigfoot's summer home lol. I do have a question, I hope this doesn't sound to ignorant so here goes. Since the 66 foot Gunter's chain set the standard for all surveying in the United States why are there no modern measuring tapes made in that exact length? Also Thumbs up
Florida surveying is ruff as fuck in the summer especially being from flint like I am I got heat stroke my first summer ...gators and poisonous snakes too
I'm glad we don't have anything poisonous here!
You don't carry a gun out there? Cool video looking into transitioning my career to Land Surveying from IT.
That cabin it's 100% haunted
Do you own the company? If so you should make a vid ab what’s involved with owning a surveying company
Good job you have a nise beard
Your leica GPS can't help you in those trees in Georgia
I got lucky with the tree cover on that site. Would not have been fun to traverse
An r12i wouldn’t fail you
You’d be surprised
Directional antenna helps a lot 😊
@@howdy1451 I worked with one for years lol I was speaking from experience.

Please upload business information
I'm applying to Uni to do a degree in Spacial Science which is a requirement where a live to be a registered surveyor.
Hopefully I get accepted, and that I'm able to stick with it and get the qualification.
