    Hey! Enjoyed your video. I'm a civil engineer. What are the requirements to get a surveying license? Additional class credits? Can I use my civil engineering experience towards PLS?

    Hi Michelle,
    I am a Structural Engineer with 5 years experience in the UK and would like to start working as a Site Engineer. I think I may need to take a Surveying crash course (such as the one provided by Finchley College) to brush up on the skills I developed at Uni with using the Surveying equipment. Do you think it is possible to start working as a Freelance Site Engineer straight away with no prior Site Engineering experience? Or would it be better to find a Full Time position to build experience first? Also, do you know any good agencies for finding Site Engineering work? Thanks
    P.S. Your videos are great and really enjoy the content. Keep doing a great job 👍

      Hi Kay! Yay that sounds like a great plan. I’d try and get on a big project as junior engineer and then shadow a setting out engineer that’s what I did. Finchley was good good for me but worth checking out others too as there are more available across the country now. As for agencies, Carmichael, Hayes, tsa are a few good ones. You’ll have to be patient mind as it takes a while to get given a chance when your a newbie, but don’t give up. Best of luck and just let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi. this is very good. but I have a question. how do you read drawings? I am a site Foreman for painters but I am passionate about Site Management and Construction Project Management. Thanks

    • @SheWhoDaresWins
      @SheWhoDaresWins  Před 2 lety

      hey, what do you mean by how do you read drawings? do you mean how to interpret the data? If so that takes time to learn but is easy enough if you have someone on-site to show you.

    half my problem is all the thinking each day the jobs mentally and physically exhausting and thats just everyday, sometimes i get jobs where i have to traverse dense woodland getting prickled falling and spraining ankles. then when your half dead at the end its back to the office to draw it up on cad and honestly i get paid just about the same as someone working in a warehouse its not a lot at all. everyone thinks its some fancy arse job but even tho i love it id probably swap mine with theirs

    Hello I am studying civil engineering, I have secured a work placement with a land surveyor company this summer 🎉 but my question is that in industry can you freelance between both land surveyor and site engineer after you have some good year of experience under you belt
