    I went with the Neo 2. I bought it after receiving 4 different, 2018 Kickrs which all died from several variations of the loud clicking noise plus vibrations in the flywheel. I wanted a silent trainer, and the Neo 2 ticked that box for sure! Love my Neo and I wish I would have purchased it earlier.

    Had a Neo1 for about 18 months now with no issues, just a super efficient trainer. Cannot see any reason to upgrade but still don’t get a Tacx not shipping a cassette. Also, the move to full subscription on their App is poor, upto November there was always a free film or two to select and enjoy! You make no mention that Tavx have also ceased support to TTS4 software.

    If you want to look at cadence, try some max spin outs from a steady cadence, the Neo 2 will be way off, a known problem according to DCR

    • @SmartBikeTrainers
      @SmartBikeTrainers  Před 5 lety +1

      There were cadence issues with older firmwares. I’m not sure which version DCR used during his test. I did look at cadence in multiple rides and didn’t see that issue.
      I just went back to look at some more scenarios and found multiple sections where I went from a steady 85 rpm to over 130 rpm. The neo 2 and cadence sensor were almost spot on.

    I have the K2 and Neo1.
    The Neo is excellent BUT has serious flaws not mentioned. These really should have been addressed in the Neo2.
    1. In the 32 cog running a compact the virtual wheel slip is just woeful on steeper gradients(like a dodgy wheel on trainer).
    2. The unit flops to the right badly requiring shims. Feet adjustability should be mandatory.
    I honestly don’t believe there’s much between a K4 and Neo2 with the above issues in mind.

    • @TELLMENOWWW
      @TELLMENOWWW Před 5 lety +1

      yea.. I have the Neo 2 and you have to shim it every time you get on and its a bit different every time. Sometimes you have to adjust mid ride. I could see this leading to injury if someone tries to ride through the tilt on a really hard interval set.

    Thanks for another quality video, Tariq. Do you have any experience / comments about service or warranty with Tacx in the USA? I know Wahoo has their issues, but they deal with consumers directly and the Tacx policy is to send a trainer back to the dealer for evaluation and they'll determine if it's a warranty issue within 30 days. Doesn't sound so good if there's a problem.

    • @SmartBikeTrainers
      @SmartBikeTrainers  Před 5 lety +4

      I had one issue with a Tacx trainer recently. The trainer (NEO 1) was well past its 2 years warranty. I submitted a ticket hoping I can get a repair estimate and possibly submit an extended warranty claim through my credit card. Instead they sent me a paid label to ship it back to their US distributer and sent me a brand new one. That was the only time I had to deal with their support and I was very impressed.

    Thanks for your video. It's really helpful for some of us (like me) who are considering which one fits. I think I'll choose Neo I due to its cost as well as the compatibility with some Campagnolo groups. I understood Neo I doesn't need a freehub for some of them such as Super Record , Record or Chorus, being excluded from this list Veloce and Centaur, but you mentioned you need it for Campagnolo in general. Am I right? As if I should need the body I would probably choose Neo 2
