1216jimmyz 500hp in this cars are way too much for just autocross. But would be fun, just not as fast. A friend of mine had a C5 Z06 with about 550whp.

The GTR would be better suited for autocross. The GT350 is WAAAAYY to over built already to be any fun doing this. RWD and over a 1000 hp at the wheels is overkill as it is for autocross....lol

You should take the GT350 to the autocross!!!
As bad ass as the GT350 is, the way he has it set up actually is way too overpowered for an autocross car. 1000 wheel HP is overkill. Plus turbo cars aren't the best for it either. The power isn't there in the RPM range you will be in most of the time, and when it does come in, it's way to aggressive to be used properly. ..

Hey Gavin, great first time auto crossing, my only tip would be try and be smoother, calm and smooth movements instead of jerky wheel movements will help with traction and make a cleaner pass in general.

Don't forget 155000 miles or reliability bolt ons and launch control 😂🔥

So would the GT350. 🤷🏻♂️ Edit: I’ve been trying to get you out to a local autocross for years. Yes, build it for autocross/road course, very addictive.

The GT350 is WAAAAYY to overbuilt to have any real fun with it doing autocross. If you do it, which it sounds like you do, you know that a 1000whp and a big turbo set up is not ideal for it... Lol.
1216jimmyz GT350 for the road course, not autocross. The Corvette with RE71s will do just fine with autocross while he gets more seat time.
@@justinh_13BS not disagreeing what so ever with your comment. A lot of people don't understand the difference between road course and autocross. So yeah,with a few suspension tweaks and the right rubber on it, the GT350 would be a MONSTER on a road course. Especially with some decent length straights. Build the shit out of the C6's suspension, and build a HUGE NA LS for it, like in the 450-500 cubic inch beast for it, and I'll put money on it that Gavin makes a "mess" in his underwear when he hears how gnarly and aggressive it will sound as he's ripping along a big ass straight. Hahaha! I'm actually super excited to hear it in a video soon if he makes the right choices!! Lol!!

I’ve been a fan for 3 years now and you’ve gave me hope and faith that I can accomplish anything. I started working on cars and saving up to finely buy a 2013 corvette I’m still saving lol to buy my dream car to build it I’ve also been trying to learn how to drive manual. I was told years ago when I worked for Subaru, and went on a few "ride and drives" for new cars (The WRX and the STI) with the Rally Team there, that a "squeaking tire is a happy tire". Specifically when it comes to autocross. Well, they weren't letting us take them in an actual rally course, but they did have some nice autocross tracks set up at each event. Man, when I tell you, that ten difference between us driving and then, was absolutely mind blowing... hahaha. Even in stock form, the difference of what a driver can make the car does night and day when comparing novice drivers to pros. Lol .
Most people that but and drive fast cars will most likely NEVER use the vehicle to it's actually capabilities. Events like the ones in talking about, really opened my eyes to different techniques to maximize the cars abilities. Man, they were so much fun and taught me a lot about car control and shit like that. Smh, I wish I still worked at a dealership and was able to do shit like that again. Oh well. Maybe one day in the future.

Me-takes a foxbody with a 347 that has a bad delay when I floor it, welded rear end, stock brakes etc. yea it was kinda a laughing stock at the track but I had a blast doing it!

Back in about 2014 or 15, I was working at a dealership in pre-owned with a buddy of mine from growing up. He was in finance. His brother came in to say what's up to us, and his jaw hit the floor as soon as he can walked in. We had just taken in on trade a 2012 C6 Grand Sport, but this car was fully built specifically for autocross. The entire suspension was redone, titanium, billet, coil overs, you name it. A sick set of lightweight wheels with sticky tires and the LS3 was done up with heads, a huge can, intake and a bad ass ARH exhaust, catless, and I forget what brand, but a wicked cat back system. It was tuned and was pushing out somewhere in the low 500s at the wheel . No expense was spared and we had the full build receipts to verify everything. Needless to say....it was bad fucking ass!! Driving it was an epic adventure! I can not recall a time I drove anything that drove like this thing. The handling was totally off the charts. Anyway, he looked at me and asked me to pull it off the floor to take it for a ride. Without any hesitation he bought it. Now, when you trade in a car built like this one, you don't get pretty much anything back for it value wise, mostly because we still have to warranty it after it gets sold for at least 90 days, so it's kind of a burden for the dealership. Well, he still has it to this day and Everytime I talk to him, he is always telling me about an autocross day he had and how he is basically untouchable in it. I truly hope Gavin sets this up similar to what my buddy has now, because drag racing myself most of my adult life, I can tell you from experiencing that C6, that if built right, he may start spending more time doing this, than drag racing...lol...and a LS engine screaming at 7k plus set up correctly, is enough to, well, make you "stand at attention", of you catch my drift.. lmfao!!
Once I did my first autocross, then a few track days I have never drag raced again! To me it is just a whole lot more fun!!

Changing the offset that tiny bit really doesn’t make any difference, actually it would be worse because it’s more leverage on the same spring making it softer.
Dan Carlos moving the wheels oit would stop that understeer.
Also Gavin you could make adjustable swaybar links to get a bit more roll oit of the
Car and tie corners down. Or un hook both sides to allow For more roll in “stock”
Form setup every where else that would allow for car to turn instead of push.
And hook back up for ride home.
BAims understeer is from the tires and width, and spring and sway bar rates. 5-15mm of wheel offset won’t be noticeable

How does it always happen that the bigger a channel grows and production value increases, that music always makes its way in to the action parts. Why can't we just have as much of the raw experience that's available without some chintzy music overlay muting the sounds that all of us gear heads love hearing. It's the reason I watch channels like this. Real, raw, and not "produced".

Daniel I give you big props this is a hard hobby and explains your car completely! Daniel you gave Gavin a lesson going fast straight is hard but doin road course pushing the car as hard as you can in the turns before braking traction takes discipline and learning your car in a whole different way. Daniel is the channels Karate Kid! Daniel Son! Just seeing Gavin’s last pass and his new born addicting passion was awesome! Daniel looks like Gavin might need some lessons?! This video was killer I’d watch this shit all day!

My first time at an autocross, I rode with a girl in her Golf R, and I couldn’t stop giggling for at least 5 minutes after. She was an insane driver, and her awareness of her car was incredible, and from that point I on I knew I had to get into it

Glad you got to take it out to autocross. You should build it for class. Tires are critical and then go from there. The biggest thing though is seat time. I got some autocross videos if you wanna check them out.
