It's pretty rare to see an AR15 with a real 3 position safety due to it costing 10s of thousands and months of government paperwork. However, many are custom built with mix and match parts, so the manufacturer of the receiver will often engrave a marker in the 3rd position since the internals will come from somewhere else. Safe/Semi/Auto is standard, but you often see something funny, like Safe/Pew/PewPewPew. The rifle in the video does not have the extra pin that retains the extra parts for full auto.

    Picking a lock is great and to Lock pick Lawyer, I love these videos as they have helped me at my job when called to open a lock. Legally I assure you.
    But that is if you want to save the lock or in more dubious or overt situations, so someone doesn't know you opened the lock. But I've often found, that the quickest way to open a lock is to remove the the keyed tumblers or pin portion of the lock with a drill bit. That portion of the lock is usually made of brass in most cases, soft steel in some, Some newer locks are made with aluminum, and a few locks that try and do something to prevent a drill bit from removing that part of the lock. Those that are effective at that are very expensive.
    Sorry, but the master locks and their clones that are made up of several plates of metal and riveted together, the rivet heads can be filed off and the plates removed to disassemble the lock. They are useless and I've filed them off with a small jewelers file in about 20 minutes. Some of those lock have a floating plate that has a slot for the key and spins to prevent drilling out the lock. I've defeated some of them with glue. Depending on time constraints and the metal, an acid can be used to remove that portion or eat through the shackle. Once the pins or tumblers are gone locks are easily opened.
    The point I'm trying to make here is that locks are really designed to keep honest people honest and to cause reasonable delay or frustration to the dishonest. No lock is beyond someone being able to defeat it. Saying a lock is pick proof or any thing defeat proof, is like saying a ship is unsinkable. Like what they said about the Titanic and y'all know that story.
    How do I know this, I'm a machinist. I was an aircraft machinist in the Air Force and some of us were trained to pick locks and open safes when the keys were lost, or locks didn't work, or combinations were lost and we were authorized to do so. Also be weary of the claim that something is made of Aircraft Aluminum. It is still aluminum, it may be an aircraft grade, like 7075 T-7, but it is still aluminum and easily filed or cut.

      Most AR lowers have 3 position safeties, some even 4. Notice there is no pin in the lower receiver for an auto sear. Unless this firearm has a drop-in auto sear and a handful of other full auto parts, It is simply just another AR clone.

    • @pedrowhack-a-mole6786
      @pedrowhack-a-mole6786 Před 4 lety +8

      @Leonard Chornomaz you're right, the safety on semi auto AR-15s only have 2 detent positions, but there is an external stop though at the "FULL" position. How is this not an AR platform rifle? Except for the bolt carrier, almost every other part will swap with AR parts.

    • @pedrowhack-a-mole6786
      @pedrowhack-a-mole6786 Před 4 lety +18

      @Leonard Chornomaz Every part in that lower receiver will swap with an AR, and it uses the same magazines. It is milled from a solid block of aluminum instead of being forged, so it looks different but all the critical dimensions and functions are the same as on any other AR. Maybe I just don't know what your definition of "platform" is.
