Your videos are valuable consumer reviews that should spur these manufacturers to step up their game, and sell products worthy of their retail value. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at a corporate board meeting (better yet a shareholder meeting for those that are publicly traded) and watch jaws drop as you exploit the weaknesses of their products. If I were in charge of one of these companies I'd be sitting you down over an expensive lunch tomorrow, to offer a lucrative consulting contract about next-gen security, and how to get there.
If you did that, you'd see your profits decline substantially. The market for consumer grade locks that are genuinely pick resistant is minuscule - the vast majority of consumers are happy to buy locks that they *think* are secure, regardless of whether they actually are secure. That's why there are *so* many locks on the LPL's channel and why he has little trouble opening the vast majority of them.
@@hux2000 Your profits would decline substantially if you... provided a better product? You're either trolling out your ass or you legitimately have not run a business before. You'd be a terrible lock manufacturer.
So a good expansion on this concept i would like to see is one designed to be mounted to either a bed frame, or night stand, possibly with a locking magazine well on the lock to hold a magazine for the fire arm model in question. A lock designed around these criteria (to my knowledge) would comply with pretty much all safe storage laws in the U.S. wile still giving rapid access to the fire arm incase it is needed. Personally I still think safe storage laws are over bearing, but solutions for those individuals who wish to comply with them should present as little burden as possible.

@@supermaster2012 As a firearms guy. The thought of mixing a firearm with a trigger lock that's electric, is kind of worrying. A false sense of security that will just slow you down in a home defence situation if not probably malfunction or not open if something intrudes with its electrical functions. Call me old school, a mechanical safe does the job perfectly. At least I know where the key is. And that the key will turn and open the lock if I need it to. No compromises. My comment highlights the device's absurdity to it's most basic form and reliance of power, to express how stupid it is. I understand it's application. But I despise the fact that it tries to innovate in a field where innovation is not needed. As the orthodox way of weapons storage will remain king. But I'm sure there will be an internet keyboard warrior who plays with his katana everyday while he watches john wick parabellum with the "uhm actually" altercations.
@@lyingeyes5579 The key will turn and open the lock if you need it to, unless the lock rusts, key wears down,.. etc.. mechanical parts have their own problems that can leave you in the dark as well. I'd say reliability is about even with electronic locks.

@@fireice8828 yes, in other words adding a key lock doubles the possible entry methods. your point? Adding the backup makes the lock far less secure.
@@LegDayLas --- I know nothing about locks, but if this is designed the way key-pad safes are designed, then the batteries needed to run the scanner may not be accessible from the "outside". Your videos are valuable consumer reviews that should spur these manufacturers to step up their game, and sell products worthy of their retail value. @@teresar6348 "Nothing on 1, 2 is binding..."

I know my biggest fear is a toddler’s raking attack
So a good expansion on this concept i would like to see is one designed to be mounted to either a bed frame, or night stand, possibly with a locking magazine well on the lock to hold a magazine for the fire arm model in question. A lock designed around these criteria (to my knowledge) would comply with pretty much all safe storage laws in the U.S. wile still giving rapid access to the fire arm incase it is needed. Personally I still think safe storage laws are over bearing, but solutions for those individuals who wish to comply with them should present as little burden as possible.
I like how he does this with a calm voice while some designer is kicking the door in now that his design has been debunked in a 5 min vid lol

@@camostorm I agree, tbh a high shelf would be better than this lock HAHA
@@m4rt1nDRK I can't argue against that. In my place of business I often need to take my CCW off for a few minutes. I need a "secure" place to put it during that time. This would do for that. Sadly the wet finger drawback is a common issue with most fingerprint sensors. I can never unlock my phone right out of the shower
All capacitive based FP sensor will have this issue, water will induce capacitive on the surface, so do your skin so the sensor can't distinguish it

your channel was recommended to me because i watch speed runs, so, by that logic, you are a lock speed runner
So first off love all the vids, both satisfying and good knowledge base. Second I would say that left handed pistol users are super rare. I carry a rifle left handed given that side has my sniper eye so naturally for ease of access I have a pistol on my right side.
