    Love Hometown! They've saved my neck many a time with last minute drum heads, sticks, etc. the day of a gig, glad to help in spreading the love! :)

    A last shoutout before you move is a nice way to give back to this shop and your mentor - and I have no doubt you’ll be back to visit from time to time so we can can all see how the shop is doing. 😊

    Thanks Hometown and Jeremy. I buy local when I can. You just have to know what "local" means in Montana: what is in your town plus 200 miles. I have never gone in and checked what a guitar cost online because I know I will get a good deal before I am done. Not everyone carries the same gear. Like my son said, who was living in Butte at the time, you need to buy things local otherwise there may be no local. They lost their guitar shop before the pandemic. Local for me means 90 to 120 miles away. I can't see to drive, but I have been to their shops more than once. I bought guitars during shutdown as they offered curbside service. It kept us all going. So buy local when you can. And other great places ( like Guitar Hunter and others) when local cannot get it.

    Darn. I should have stopped by when we were in Shenandoah Valley. Hometown looks like a great place to shop and visit!

    There's absolutely value in local shops, and especially where someone can fix the instrument.

    Jeremy, I really enjoy your videos and stories. The videos about the 1967 D28, the purchase, the sale and the reconnection with the original owner. What a great story! I wish you the best at your new job and I hope you will occasionally be able to continue to share guitar hunting stories.

    As a shop: How do you keep the strings from getting too dead and gross too often? I can’t imagine you put them all in cases every night before you leave.

      We do a lot to maintain the humidity in the store, and we constantly check over things to make sure they're playing well and sounding good. If something shifts and needs a tweak while its in the shop, it gets one. If a guitar needs new strings, it gets them, simple as that!

    Why didn’t you stock Larrivee

    • @HometownMusicHVA
      @HometownMusicHVA Před 2 měsíci

      As a small shop there is always a balance. We can't carry everything, even though as musicians the desire to is strong. Larrivee is absolutely on a list of brands to carry "some day," as they are incredible instruments. We have a relationship with the regional rep, and we're always trying to see what fits into the "plan." As we grow with the support of our community here (and far...we do ship), we'll be able to represent more lines. That is, if we can figure out where to put everything, the other plague of a small shop is literal wall space, and we're pretty socked in right now.

    Loved the video. Jeremy I’m sure they will miss you a lot, but I wish you well in your new place. Hometown doesn’t sell Blueridge? Glad to see Alvarez though.

      Please stop by when you make the trip! Harrisonburg is a beautiful little town right in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley. It IS absolutely beautiful country here. We love Virginia in all its forms, but we are a bit partial to the mountains here on the western side of the state.

    No orange woods

    • @JeremySheppard
      @JeremySheppard  Před 2 měsíci

      Orangewood sells directly and doesn’t have any dealers. They are awesome guitars, I wish they would sell through dealers, but their prices would go up. That’s their secret to keeping prices down, have no distributors.
