Middle NZ Vol 03 F

3. Sincere thanks to my friend who shot these videos around the lower North Island and upper South Island at the beginning of the 21st century. He wishes to remain anonymous but has made them available to me for editing and upload to You tube. This video was shot on a DV handycam.
Now that I look back a couple of decades there is just so much has changed in the middle region making this a fantastic record of those times . When these videos were made I was given the chance to edit them and also spent some time on the sounds which has made these final edits much easier.
The photography is awesome and these videos are a good record around and during "The Twins" era with a several liveries and lots of Dc and Dx action still in the North Island. Also some great shots and sounds as seen and heard from up on the Thorndon hills in Wellington. There are two reasonably long sequences on here and it's great watching.......

Do you have any off northland rail from the 90s

I swapped some of my early vids from that era with Dave Allen who was a keen rail enthusiast back then. Once I get this set done and tapes from two other families I will take a look at it. It was still in the horrible VHS times and most vidcams were terrible.... But still its history. Regards Mike
