I've posted this before. I am a flight attendant and I had the honor of having Shifty Powers on my flight about 5 years after the premiere of this series. He was so soft spoken and humble. I completely "fan-girled" over him. I'm sure I embarrassed him. After almost 40 years, I can honestly say that he is my favorite all-time passenger. Great reaction guys!!❤❤❤

Highly recommend Winters' autobiography. Fills in so many blanks in both the show and the BoB book. Quite a few shades darker than the show.

I was always fascinated with WWII history, but Band of Brothers kicked it into high gear. It started a collection of WWII veterans autographs. I believe I'm up to 68 members of Easy Company. Sadly, they're all gone.

The actors also hold annual reunions. They became very close during the filming process and became their own Band of Brothers.

It was really great acting. And fun fact, some of the actors were able to meet and get the real stories assess the character traits of the actual vets they played.

I think that you two Gentlemen can see why so many people recommended this documentary to you, it's effectively Episode 11 of " Band of Brothers " ... so many reviewers miss this out .. Best wishes from the UK !

It’s so wild that they just look like nice old men in the interview, you’d never guess that they were the elite soldiers of what was already the greatest generation.

The greatest reveal in history to me. I can never ignore seeing the weight in Winters eyes. They are truly windows to the soul. I implore you to see Ron Livingston's Boot Camp Diary after this. If I said it before, it bears repeating a thousand times over. Believe it or not, it makes you appreciate the series even more. The fact that the men who portrayed these heroes now have reunions of their own is endearing to me. It was life changing. Easy Company will never die. Currahee! ♠

You guys should watch the actor podcast of frank john Hughs, the guy who played Guarnere. Apparently, Bill and Babe can still drink everyone under the table and were party animals while in London. Hell, watch all of the actor interviews, they are entertaining

Guys, I really hope you can react to the HBO miniseries Chernobyl about the nuclear disaster in the old Soviet Union. It's captivating, and you get right into it, plus it's historically accurate. Not to many main characters, so it's pretty easy to follow. At the end of 5 episodes, you'll almost wish there was more information available!

If you haven't read the book, you probably won't catch this - there is a reason they all comment on being well trained, physically and mentally. It dealt with Sobel. Even though they did not respect him as a combat leader, every one of them felt if it wasn't for the way he trained them, they would not have came back. The amount of animosity towards him is a bit exaggerated in the series. He had a rather distinguished career in the Army after WWII. It was actually Sink that was the a**hole. When the 506th finished at Toccoa, the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Battalions flew to Atlanta, then took a bus to Ft. Benning. Lt. Col. Sink had the 3rd Battalion march the 117 miles in three days just to break another units record. There was freezing rain the entire way. Not one person fell out. They all completed the march.

Thanks for including this doc, it’s the only proper way to end BoB. Amazing people living through devastating times. I read a few accounts about putting the production together and talking to the veterans about the story as it was being planned and written. One of them talked about Spiers (sic?), and the fact that he didn’t want to take part. The intended portrayal of him was brought up. He just smiled and said, “That’s okay.”
I’ve watched the full series six times, and it has never lost a bit of its impact or importance. It stands alone. The Pacific is rather different. It’s still great, and I’m glad you’re going to react to it. But the nature of the story is markedly different. Easy Company of BoB was rather unique. They were together from the inception of Airborne, all the way through occupying the Eagles Nest. The Pacific, by its very nature doesn’t offer that kind of cohesion and bonding. The characters are therefore not as distinct and knowable. In some ways it “suffers” from BoB having come before it, through no fault of its own. I think there’s a similar dynamic with the first season of True Detective, in that it was almost “too successful” for anything to favorably follow in its wake. But like I said, it’s great in its own right, and I look forward to you covering it. Just realize that it’s not cut from the same cloth.

5:54 No.....that is not "Buck" that you are familiar with from the series.
The man at 5:54 is Paul "Buck" Rogers - he was not profiled in the series.
The man at 9:02 is Lynn "Buck" Compton - he was the officer that was profiled in the series who went on to become a lawyer.

30:05 so funny thing both Babe and Wild Bill were big flirts even later in life. Lol. And they still loved to party. Legend has it they could drink anyone under the table as the producers of the show found out the hard way.

One of the most interesting aspects of their time in Germany near the end is the loot they were finding. As mentioned with paintings and such. Anywhere Germany conquered? They got virtually everything valuable to that that country's culture. What they talked about here and showed in the show was just scratching the surface of what Allies recovered from the Nazis. Ancient artifacts, personal horses of European kings, endless amounts of countys' gold and other precious metals. Think of all the loot still hidden. Items ranging from very historical artifacts in North Africa all the way to aforementioned European paintings that now cost hundreds of millions.
Pretty sure that was the whole reason for Indiana Jones having to battle Nazis for all the cool stuff he would go after lol.
