Sure, the new 2019 Kawasaki KX450 is amazing right out of the crate, but what do you do if you have a 2018 KX450F model? Rob Healy from Systems did his best to outdo the new bike with last year’s model. By all accounts, the 2018 Kawasaki was a good bike, but there are ways to make it better.

They should have put some 2012 spring forks on it! I had a 2012 with ENZO suspension and it was REALLY good. I hated the power delivery on that bike and I'm guessing a lot of people did. It was like a light switch. Really hard to keep a smooth line in tight and/or rutted corners. Kawi went back to the 2011 intake cam on the 2013+ bikes, so the 2012s were the only year with that aggressive intake cam. I'm sure if you're a pro and you've got a specially tuned map it's great, but with stock mapping (even the "mild" coupler) it's hard to ride smoothly.

THE MOTO LIFE nope! I’ve ridden both. The Kawi is twice the bike the Ktm is even before the spring fork conversion.
