This looks fantastic. Glad I follow you guys so I can be reminded when indies I was looking forward to actually come out lol
Us too!
It screamed "Breath of Fire" to me when I first saw this (I would *love* to see a BoF3 or BoF4 remaster with visuals of this caliber), but now that it came out the _day after_ Grandia HD Collection hits Xbox and Playstation, I can totally see Grandia too 😄
This looks great! I'm happy to hear it's solid, because as soon as the weather turns nicer, I start thinking about picking up some JRPGs and adventure games. They're my go-to's for the season, and while I have plenty of older titles to pick up (with Akira Toriyama dying recently, I decided to jump back into the charming Blue Dragon again recently, for instance), I'm always hoping that new charming games will come out every Spring or Summer. To see Grandia HD and Terra Memoria coming out now, Eiyuden Chronicles next month, and Visions of Mana launching in a few months, I'm thrilled to see that 2024 is looking to be loaded with charming JRPGs and adventures.
Nice video structure, I like the pure gameplay impression at the end!
Great to see a review the day before it releases. So glad to hear it’s a good one. Been excited for this one. Thanks for the review bud.
I’ve been looking forward to the full release. Really dug the demo while playing on Steam Deck. It was my unwind after work game.
Great review 👍
Also well done for being the only channel to actually review it 👍👍
Thanks! 👍
Fantastic video and very informative, thanks so much. I am going to be streaming this game shortly and plan to send them to this video if anyone needs more info because I will just be playing it for the first time now. But you break everything down so well, its very appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the wonderful review. I look forward to checking it out!
Hope you enjoy it!
ooo thanks for the rec
Y'all the first I follow to review this was excited to hear what you guys had to say
I love me quality pixel art. And that tail sway. that is some nice animation.
For sure!
Adding this to my HUGE PC Libary!! :)
Dude, you had me at Grandia-Like, gonna check this out immediately!
music draws me back to the classic rpg immediately; gives me jade cocoon and legend of legaia vibes
Another stellar review! Can you do Crypt Custodian next? I just finished the demo and had a blast with it, would love to see your thoughts on it.
Had to go back and check a Grandia video, for the life of me I was thinking that was a more active battle system like Star Ocean or Tales series,
I much prefer the turn based, so pretty happy here
It's good that you mentioned the unimportant things like yes, how and whether you can run, but you didn't mention the important thing, which is whether there is voice acting or not!
There is no voice acting
Not gonna lie, my eyes and ears perked up at the Grandia comparison, but was disappointed to learn that's not referring to the battle system. :/
Grandia's IP Gauge is still the GOAT and it baffles me more games haven't imitated it! (There was Child of Light and....that's it??)
Whoa, it’s coming out this soon? I adored the demo for this game.
I love the art is there a physical copy.. 😊
This game is just great, for me 8/10.
I have 10 hours and the game is well made.
Congrats to, who made this game.
Bought it after I seen your review but I went w/ the Switch version, take note the Switch version has slight FPS drop when the camera zooms across town and overall FPS feel like 28-30 FPS?
Battles are fine though, nevertheless I enjoy this game a whole lot!
That's pretty common on switch versions to have lower performance compared to PC/Steam Deck so not too surprised. Glad you are enjoying it!
@@IDreamofIndie Yes, in case if anyone is wondering how the Switch performs then all's good but don't expect a constant (pun intended) 60 FPS.
thanks for your review! I liked it over all. I just wanted to add that I was missing some info.
Who is the developer? (maybe he has done similar stuff in the past)
When is the release date
On Which Platforms does it release
Whats the price point on release
Those are just some basic infos I expceted to find but had to look up after your review.
Regardless good work! and keep it up!
If you look at the start of the video all of that info is included!
this looks more like Breath of Fire 3 or 4 + Octopath Traveler, rather than Grandia.
Wonder if the furries got to work on the fan art for the characters yet
Monster hunting game?
I mean monster collecting
RPGs? Furries? Launch discount (doubled with Humble Choice discount)? I had to buy it day 1. Just about to finish Persona 3 Reload on Steam Deck, so I know what I am going to work on next.
I wasn't too fond of Grandia. That whole magic system where you get better stuff the more you use the same thing over and over never felt properly balanced. Maybe I'll give this one a shot though. A new game by new people means it's a new chance for better balancing and stuff like that. Though, the camping for EXP thing has me thinking about FF15 and how unbalanced that was.
You should give the Grandia sequels a shot (2 is a masterpiece), the first game is the only one to use that magic/skill upgrade system IIRC.
@@bigthecat100 Oh really? Maybe I'll do that. Might have to watch a video about the story though, as I didn't finish it. I gathered that one girl was probably related to that ancient race, but that's the last bit of foreshadowing that I remember.
@@psycholuigiman Oh, I forgot to mention, the games aren't connected, you can play them in any order, much like Final Fantasy :)
@@bigthecat100 Oooo. Then that seals the deal I guess. Thanks for the info.
Hello I am just finished the game on switch in 15h at nearly 100% and I am not agree. For me it s a bad rpg.Too easy, there is no challenge(final boss is the worst I have ever seen in my life of rpg gamer), battle system is always the same ALL THE GAME, all the characters have same attacks, pathetic...., side quest, side quest and side quest oh yes and side quest....on switch the performance are bad,4 crashes in 15 h,frame rate is not stable and strange micro freeze when the heroes run or walk. The only thing cool is cooking for HP upgrade that s all.Don t buy this or buy it at 5 euros max.
looks amazing ... if year was 1995.
fury? sorry no pass haha 🤣
