Norrköping railway station opened in 1866. It is one of the largest stations on the southern main line which goes from Stockholm to Malmö. It connects with nearby cities such as Katrineholm, Linköping and Nyköping.
Norrköping is one of four cities in Sweden that has trams. The others are Stockholm, Gothenburg and Lund. The first tram line in Norrköping opened for traffic in 1904.
