Eskilstuna was founded in 1659 and is the largest city in Södermanland County. The city has always had a strong connection to industry and metal manufacturing. Both weapons and tractors have been manufactured here. Two well-known companies in Eskilstuna today are Assa Abloy and Stiga Sports.
