I-7's incident report:
"On 10/06/2023 at approximately 1118 hours Mountain Home Police Department advised they were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle
and were requesting assistance. The vehicle was described as a black or dark grey Chevy Trailblazer. The vehicle was
traveling westbound on US 62 at speeds over 100 mph. MHPD terminated pursuit at the city limits of Mountain Home and the
Baxter County Sheriff’s Office observed the vehicle continuing west on US 62 toward Gassville. The deputy stated the vehicle
had turned onto State Highway 126 and was traveling northbound. I Trooper Philip Gonten was on State Highway 126 traveling
southbound towards Gassville when I observed the fleeing vehicle pass me traveling northbound at a speed of 80mph. I then
turned around on the vehicle and initiated a pursuit with my emergency lights and siren activated the vehicle continued to flee
northbound on State Highway 126. I was able to catch up to the vehicle, which was traveling at speeds reaching 100 mph,
recklessly passing vehicles and at times in the oncoming lane running oncoming vehicles off the roadway. I was able to give
dispatch a tag number for the vehicle which was MO XG1Z0Y. Dispatch then confirmed this was a stolen vehicle from West
Plains Missouri. As the fleeing vehicle approached the intersection of State Highway 126 and State Highway 5 it drove across
the ditch and into the oncoming lane of traffic. The vehicle now continued northbound on SH5 at speeds again more than
100mph. As the vehicle continued northbound on State Highway 5 fleeing recklessly approaching County Road 13, the vehicle
drove into the oncoming lane running a vehicle off the roadway and into the grassy ditch. The vehicle continued northbound on
State Highway 5 driving in the oncoming lane and running vehicles off the roadway. The vehicle continued northbound
recklessly driving on the wrong side of the road crossed into Missouri continuing northbound on State Highway 5 more than 100
mph. At this time dispatch had notified Missouri Highway Patrol and the Ozark County Sheriff's Office. As we approached the
intersection of State Highway 5 and Missouri State Highway 160, an Ozark County Sheriff's Office deputy was traveling south
on State Highway 5 and observed the fleeing vehicle and was attempting to turn around in the roadway to pursue it. I continued
pursuing north on State Highway 5 as we approached the intersection with State Highway 160 the vehicle turned west on State
Highway 160 and continued to flee. At this time as we continued on State Highway 160, I was advised to terminate the pursuit
and allow Ozark County Sheriff’s Office to take over."
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the patrol car in the middle of the road and I couldn't believe my ears when I heard on the radio "I can't stop"😱
GOD HAD HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKES TOO🙏🏼❤️🔥🇺🇸
You will get him or her soon,I have faith.
I’m
Dude.
That sucked they called it off. I was hoping he would be pitted and arrested. But it was a good chase. Glad nobody was hurt. ❤
Should have called it off long time before
It should've been called off at the State line considering this trooper was speeding up a highway that he knew nothing about.
@@cs8557…
No way to know what the officer knows about that road just because it’s not his jurisdiction.
That said… towards the end, his emotions were starting to get the better of him. I wouldn’t go as far as to say his emotions were “overriding” his judgment… but his judgment was beginning to waiver a bit, and his decisions were becoming “riskier”. Approaching the crest of even a slight rise in the opposing lane with absolutely zero visibility isn’t exactly demonstrating “good” judgment. I think he was shaken a bit by that “I can’t stop” moment, and was showing signs of becoming “desperate” to “not fail” to apprehend.
To be fair though… his driving skills are top notch, and I’m not too sure anyone else would have done any better than he did.
That perp gave absolutely zero fks about ANYONE’s safety, not even his own.
It would have been nice to see him apprehended and prosecuted to the fullest, but I believe he would have been willing to die to avoid capture.
Good news. HCSO in Missouri did last night. He's currently in custody.
you dont know that@@cs8557
It never ceases to amaze me how many people fail to pay attention to their rear view mirrors.......
Probably because there's too many idiot drivers ahead of them?
Noticed the people of Missouri are just as allergic to that shoulder as the people in Arkansas.
In some of their defense, I've been on that hwy. The drop offs for the shoulder can be dangerous for people trying to pull over. They could easily roll their vehicle.
In my option they don’t have time to look in their mirror, their head is glued to the cell phone.
Funny . . .🙃
You have to admit, for that guy being in a problematic Chevy Trailblazer he drove that thing exceptionally well, the cop drove good too, it;s just the perp knew where he was headed.
Dude was a pro driver to be able to drive that thing 90 plus around curves had to be a ss model no way it’s was the smaller Motor model
Nah, my guess is that he was very familiar with that area. Probably lives or grew up there. Therefore, he knew what was around those blind corners. He knew just how fast he could push it.
I moved to Germany from Arkansas in 2002. Way back (I mean way back, in the mid late 60's early 70's) A State Trooper, Jim Thomas would come to the Harrison elementary schools and teach us many things about safety. We were all made Troop I Junior Troopers...so Troop I is special to me. Also, even though it is a crime taking place... I love seeing the countryside of home again. Thank you for sharing with us.
how is life there in germany
@@jackdon6926 It is great. I am sorry/not sorry(because I need health care)to say, the health care system here is so much better than in the States.
You mean its cheaper and universal@@LadyDragonsblood
@@jackdon6926 And better care from Doctors and nurses. The US NEEDS national health care so desperately.

There needs to be mandatory lengthy sentences for people that lead the police on pursuits like this. There were two or three times in this video where the officers and innocent people could have been killed. It's a mystery how that didn't happen. The crime of fleeing from police officers is really comparable to any other crime. The perpetrator is doing it out of for selfish criminal reasons. It puts the public in danger. Public safety means nothing to these people or they wouldn't be doing it to begin with. Police pursuits are on the rise and the legislature needs to change the laws and make the sentencing 25 years mandatory.. at a minimum.
Also there need to be public awareness videos on what to do if you see blue lights behind you.
Absolutely
Amen!! Mandatory 25 years. If the cop has to chase you above a given speed limit, it's 25 years.
That is why "fleeing and eluding" is a charge. And the countless other charges the DA will add onto the arrest after reviewing footage. However, most of the time in a lot of these cases, charges can be dropped at the discretion of the DA if they can get the accused party to plead "Guilty". Make it an easier court case. The Troopers are also at fault here. They should have ended the pursuit much sooner. All departments have guidelines on when to chase and when not to chase. The reckless driving of the get away driver extended far past the unsafe point to continue the pursuit. If the trooper had hit the the Deputy Sherriff truck, the trooper most likely would have been found at fault if anything.
@@scoobers1951 This pursuit would not occur for this long in Australia, it would have been called off as too dangerous to the public. this driver was insane, probably hopped up on meth. deliberately driving directly at other drivers.
How about a mandatory 5 years, plus their license is suspended for life.
20 years for every life he endangered or shot on site.
100%
This would have been the perfect chase to use the grill mounted bazooka
They need to be charged with attempted murder on the LEO'S involved in the chase.
That was one hell of a chase...I was sad when they called it off tho!! Thanks NST, that was a good video!!
Me too… was waiting for THAT HUNDRED MPH PIT😀
Not only are Arkansas chases exciting, the country side is absolutely beautiful!
Yes it is beautiful.
One thing I noticed about these videos is the scenery and power lines along the road. When driving you are watching the road and don't get to see much else. I like to watch the scenery. 😊
ASP Philip Gotten is one cool cucumber. Even though it's a mad dash chance, he relays the info like he's leaned back in a recliner! Bet he's been doing this some years 🤣
Some of these troopers should be driving in NASCAR...Arkasas Troopers are probably the last ones you want chasing ya!! Thanks NST for another lineup of good videos!!!
Damn I hate it when they get away. But that Trooper can drive.
Not as good as the dude in the trailblazer lol. That's the most docile AR trooper I've ever seen on here. We all just saw an SUV waste a suped up charger on curves....
Damn that was a hell of a pursuit . Great driving trooper .
Anyone else flinch when he encountered the Sheriff’s pickup across the roadway. Sheesh.
Well, that doesn't happen to often . That other driver is good . His time is coming, troopers don't like to lose. Can't wait till they meet again 🇺🇲
Surprised they don't have a helicopter in the county or the weather people can't assist. I wouldn't want to pursue this lunatic in a car.
It always infuriates me when they get in the other lane acting like they're going to hit cars. This sucker's going down!!
That was alarming
Hes currently in custody after another chase in Missouri last night.
I had to walk outside after that near hit of that county deputy... I feel bad for all those people caught on the road during that chase.
The chase should have been called off. He was endangered other people's lives and the trooper was NOT catching him.
Thank you ASP for uploading these videos.
In conclusion, Law enforcement officers are doing a great job.
Unfortunately they work with human beings that cannot govern themselves.
The video evidence shows it clearly time and time again that when a LEO try to stop these unregulateble humans, they turn into the most outrageous, selfish and life threatening criminals.
It's clear they have no regard for law and order and the life of other law abiding people.
How many more life's need to be ruined by these criminals?
Did we as humans become so political correct to not harm the criminals rights that we disregard innocent people's right of life?
The law makers really need to be made aware that there so called "political correct approach" to criminals is causing horrendous consequences to law abiding people.
Beautiful scenery
That driver needs life in prison for all the life’s he put in danger.
Outstanding driving Trooper.
One thing for sure, he'll end up dead or in jail sooner or later. So all not lost.
Man what a pursuit!!!!! I can tell you from experience that it really sucks having to be called off of a pursuit like this or any as far as that goes!!! This Troop has got some great driving skills! Stay safe!!
Wow that was a good chase. Trooper Gonten did a good job of chasing him. If another state won’t chase someone ASP will. I saw that sheriff truck sitting in the road and trooper Gonten saying I can’t stop I was like oh hell this isn’t going to end well. Luckily the sheriff backed up and let the trooper through.
My question is did they ever catch this guy. I mean he nearly killed no telling how many people.
He kept it so cool. I would have closed my eyes and given up the minute I saw the deputy truck in the road.
@@lazy855 I’m thinking the officer would have probably run it off in the ditch at the last second. But that was definitely a pucker up moment. I’ve driven those roads up in that area a few times they are no joke.
Nope he hasn't been caught yet. 2 days before this video he was chased in Howell County Mo. He got away from them after fleeing in the woods. To reappear in a stolen vehicle again in this video.
Thanks for the bumper sticker!! I love it n this channel!!! Prayers to all our Arkansas State Troopers n their families.
Love mine too.
@@zayjacksontv8035 God loves everyone.. even you. I pray u come to know Him n realize that.
They need to start giving out citations for people that won't move over when they see a police officer lit up behind them.
Those are emergency vehicles and you need to get out of the way!!
WHEN SAFE. If you go back and watch... in some of those places there was no where TO go.... you can't cause an accident while trying to get out of the way. I only saw one instance of where there was room and the person didn't move over.
Watching these videos has made me rethink my immediate response to pull right. I will study the officer before I do in the future. Sometimes he's already there.

That cat can drive lol.
The situation here is serious, but I must state that the Arkansas countryside is absolutely gorgeous.
I've been to Mountain Home, and have a cousin who lives there. farther west, Arkansas is mountainous.
Amazing driving but the Tahoe didn’t help
Hate to see these idiots get away! ASP tried but this was a dangerous pursuit
thats the best driving ive ever seen any suspect do
Ouch.
Dusted by a clapped out old trailblazer.
I have to say that cruiser needs a tune up. It's a sled!
The trooper just gave up the chase to avoid any fatal outcome from that chase. if the chase had taken place on the Interstate, no doubt, other troopers would've joined him and succeeded.
The driver of the SUV was pretty good to maneuver those curves and straight aways. But the pursuit should have been called off 2 miles into MO. What if the Trooper would have hit another driver and killed them would that be qualified immunity ? Sometimes you have to cut your losses and be safe and not endanger others who would have been an innocent victim of aggression. I applaud the Trooper but i rather him be safe and the other drivers who are casually just minding their business.
I hate 10-22's
I wanted spikes, PIT, and taze :(
All perps motto: " chase me!, chase me!"
Spanked by a “Trail blazer!..just goes to show it’s not the vehicle,it’s the driver😂
This cop needs to take driving lessons from the criminal.
Sorry my man, you just got dusted by a trailblazer 😮
Love this channel!!!
Hated to see him get away. Good video NST
Early in the pursuit they drove by a place called the "Ozark Getaway" Beer Bellies Bar and Grill and "Monkey Run". That would be a great cruising road.
Great skilled driving by Trooper Gonten!
Tell that to all the vehicles he nearly hit during this pursuit.
@@wpeale71341NEARLY, but didn't.
If it “great”, he would have kept up
That had to be aggravating!
This was a nail to knuckle biter.....
This is one of those situations where the suspect out drove the Trooper. I mean it doesn’t help when these apparently deaf people don’t pay attention and get out of the way. I did see what I thought looked like a few chances for this Trooper on straight flats to deck it, and attempt a PIT but he didn’t take it and backed off every time.
Perfect picture of rural Amerika! The pursuit is a bonus. Fuck he escaped.
What it must have been like during the moonshine days before the interstate highway system.
What a chase! Perp is a good driver
This went on far too long without stopping him from putting so many people in danger. He was going around curves on the wrong side of the road. The cat and mouse thing is ridiculous if you're not going to do anything about it.
What beautiful country.😁
Sorry they got away, next time 😕
Are you kidding me I sat through this whole video and that vehicle was never stopped!!!!!!!
According to the reports, at approximately 11:15 the Mountain Home Police Department started to pursue a stolen vehicle from Missouri with assistance from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police.
Sheriff’s deputies picked up the chase on U.S. Highway 62 west going towards Gassville. The driver went through Gassville, turned North on Arkansas Highway 126 toward Midway, then went North on Arkansas Highway 5 into Ozark County, Mo.. Between Gassville and Midway, the Arkansas State Police engaged the suspect and took over as lead. Top speeds were reported in the 90mph range.
According to KYTV, the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office stated the Arkansas State Police were in pursuit of a stolen black trailblazer from Howell County. Once the suspect crossed state lines, the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office continued the pursuit before chasing them into Taney County.
The Howell County Sheriff’s Office states the suspect is 32-year-old Adam Bartlett who is accused of stealing a vehicle at a gas station in West Plains on Wednesday.
Bartlett! I assure you, no relation.
That trooper got smoked by a guy in an old trailblazer.
Well done troopers you quit while you were ahead good driving good call
Literally had me clutching my phone a few times, especially when the police said " i cant stop" he thought he was going to hit that car and truck. Wish they would have caughy the idiot ..That was so reckless, he intentionally ran into head on traffic .
I take it Trooper Gonten did not have permission for a PIT/TVI?
This chase was so so so dangerous!!! They shouldn't chase to begin with on country roads like that.
The Lamons, Indi 500 and NASCAR, is That where you get your Recruits for ASP?!
Gonten great job
❤heavenly Father Bless Nst and Apa and all our Leo's and their families set a hedge of protection upon them in Jesus Mighty Name amen
Pretty sad a Blazer out ran a cruiser on those windy roads.
That was some impressive (sometimes lucky) driving by that Trooper. Has to be disappointing for them too when it’s called off so far into it. That suspect had no concern for anyone’s life. Great video, wish there was an update though😂.
The roads look like the Duke boys running around in
Bummer that the chase was called off. That was some impressive driving by the trooper. That driver will show up again.
And he did. He was pitted and taken into custody in another chase last night in Missouri.
I can't believe some crook, driving an unfamiliar family shoebox, outran and outdrove those guys. I'm amazed.
Well. It pays to run afterall. Seems like it's worth a shot if you know you're in trouble already, there's a chance they call it off
This maniac will even go more crazy next time he is being chased. A menace to all mankind.
One hell of an SUV.
Must be quite new. Usually they have shot shocks and bounce all over the road but this one tracked pretty well. Shame the deputy didn't have stop sticks.
5.3ls for the win
Another agency picked up the chase. the perp was arrested "Once the suspect crossed state lines, the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office continued the pursuit before chasing them into Taney County.
The Howell County Sheriff’s Office states the suspect is 32-year-old Adam Bartlett who is accused of stealing a vehicle at a gas station in West Plains on Wednesday
@@db-cd8hx
Wow why would that deputy turn around right then. He knew. Arkansas was in pursuit. He damn near caused a serious accident.
Wow, I hope they caught this maniac in Missouri! Great job Trooper Gonten...that was one wild pursuit!
Good stuff
If Byrd had been in the police car, this idiot would have been in the back seat after a few miles. I cannot believe this was ASP.
Well, you can’t win them all. One can only presume that because they have the vehicles registration number the owner got their car back. Hopefully in one piece.
You guys should carry a Milwaukee cut off tool for the trailer locks no one has a key
Was the vehicle eventually caught?
Nice driving Officer Gonten 👍🏻
Never seen the troopers give up
😮 wow I cannot believe that Arkansas State Police let somebody get away with out running them in a Dodge Charger that was a truck probably a very powerful truck but still this is the first time I've ever seen someone get away from them
He definitely drove that SUV though..
On the straights you know the car, on the curves the driver
Dude picked the right car to steal, apparently.
OK I’ve seen enough…..Northern Arkansas looks a lot like the South Carolina Upcountry. Very nice indeed. How much snow do they get?
twisty turny 2 lanes are probably hard to use TVI-I loved the scenery though
Looks like the outlaw had his Wheaties that morning & the cop must have skipped his bowl of Wheaties.😅
A pursuit where the pursuing trooper is as dangerous as the pursued. The trooper barely missed several vehicles during the pursuit of a criminal in a stolen vehicle that was purposely attempting to wreck other vehicles. So when is it okay to drive like shit? When you have a badge on? Unfortunately at the speeds they are doing is it really going to make a difference to the poor schmuck they run into? Glad this one was called off.
This has been one VERY BEAUTIFUL Friday night! Thank you, NST. 💜
that cop ran almost as many ppl off the road asw that guy did and almost ass ended a car
My two cents, if my chevy trailblazer (I would not ever own one) or any car I own, please do not risk your life or anyone else's to get it back, I have insurance on any car I own.
I'm surprised he didn't pit the Dodge at the 15:27 mark out of habit.
I think that is an ss trailblazer they didnt make many but they where hopped up pretty good believe they where 2 wd & had a tighter suspension then a stock trailblazer cant rember if they had a v8 or where supercharged its been a while since i have seen one but that would b the only way he could pull away on the trooper
I watch the video for nothing, 😭 i toth those car can go at 150 mh , sad wen this happens, but it's better than anything bad happens, win some lose some, IT is what it is, Thanks Trooper for show me part of Missouri 😂
Wtf is wrong with that charger? Being outran by a pos Envoy.🤷♂️
I cannot believe a ford suv out ran a law enforcement charger!! That is a first for me. Dissappointed. Why didn't the sherriffs dept have a deputy waiting on that car down the road?
I've watched a lot of NST videos .. I think the road in this one has the most curves, twists etc. of any I've watched.
I hope they never have to chase anybody going through a town called Eureka Springs. That’s all 20 mph curves. Beautiful country there though
I'd be embarrassed to let that one out of the precinct . an suv ? Granted, the fool can drive, but this cop was driving like he was headed for a wedding . On those long straights he should have been pulling on him by, say 20 mph and he was slowly giving it the pedal . This guy REALLY needs to do a few ride alongs with the Byrdman . Jacob would have had this guy pitted within five minutes .
I live off the 5 on 1032. Drive these roads daily. You sir have no idea what your talking about
I see what's going on, and you sir are not a trooper and probably never drove hard . This clown was cutting up on thew trooper . Can you see thatr ? The AHP was a little feared of the turns . That's alright, most people are . But this guy was walking away from him on semi long straights . That's where this guy was lacking in his right foot . I understand the traffic and all, but take that out of the equation and he was just losing everything he had as the superior powered vehicle . @@Peter-cz1ri
I agree. He didn't ramp it up on the straightaways. And I don't understand how that driver can be driving on the SAME road for probably 20 miles and the police never set up anything in front of him.
Absolutely . The only one that set up the road block was a county and it was late fot the runner and damn near caught up the AHP in a wreck . Bad communication and pretty much lack of being on the edge . lackadaisical ?... @@umpinmass
@@umpinmass it wasn't the same road. This pursuit was way out in the country. I think it started in Gassville, through Midway then Three Brothers, Promise Land and into Missouri which we reciprocate with. Just drive the route and you'll see what I mean. We have the best troopers in the country as far as I'm concerned but every now and again....perp gets lucky
Old busted arse trailblazer got away.
When the tropper said he can't stop i thought was about to witness a horrible accident involving 2 different police officers. That would've been a nasty accident like i said horrible since was traveling at 62 when he passed the sheriff truck
