Sirens and later mermaids are mythical figures that invite to pleasure and use music and female sex appeal to seduce. On one hand, these traits of being delectable and dangerous have been maintained throughout history and, on the other hand, the physical appearance of these characters has changed a lot over the centuries since the time of Homer.
The siren has travelled through history first with wings and after that with a fish tail becoming a mermaid, and she is still alive in popular imagination. For example, in walt disney’s 1989 film, which is a children’s movie.
