- Frankly Jazz was a half-hour television program produced in Los Angeles in the early 1960s. Each program featured one or more prominent West Coast Jazz performer of the day. Frankly Jazz was hosted by Frank Evans, a leading jazz disk jockey of the day. This clip is of Curtis Amy playing "Blues for Amy."

Full personnel slightly different from what's indicated below:
CURTIS AMYM, tenor sax
DUPREE BOLTON, trumpet
RAY CRAWFORD, guitar
DOLO COKER, piano
VICTOR GASKIN, bass
RONNIE SELICO, drums
Ray Crawford on guitar!
The personnel is basically the same as on the "Katanga" album--Curtis Amy-tenor saxophone; Dupree Bolton-trumpet; Dolo Coker-piano (instead of Jack Wilson); Victor Gaskin-bass; & Doug Sides-drums (a calculated guess for bass & drums).
Frankly Jazz is the HIPPEST!!!
How different ages, then people had Frankly Jazz, today people have "American Idol" ._.
I am absolutely thrilled to find these tapes.
