- Over time grease can be washed out by weather conditions such as temperature fluctuations, rain, and dirt. When this occurs, friction and squeaking may start to take place. If left untreated this can damage the bike and its components. In this video we will show you the likely causes of a squeaking T Line and how to easily rectify this.

Good that Brompton acknowledges this concern but I think the headset removal/reassembly is beyond that of a typical owner/user.
Glad to see Brompton acknowledges this as a real issue (and major annoyance to owners). SG Brompton Junction dismisses this as follows "The creaking noises are from some of the frame parts that require extra grease and lubrication. Not every customer will need the service, and it is not cause for concern."... Yeah, right.
Its good that Brompton has finally confirmed this annoying problem.
Luckily most T line buyers buying it for collection only, not for actual riding.
If you are an active rider using this bike, you might need it serviced on a monthly basis.
Most T line owners have experienced this noisy frame , hinge problems after riding it just a few hundred km.
I think Brompton should make a recall and fix this issue by replacing various parts and components
Just grease the bike as described in the video or send it back to Brompton Junction and you would not have this problem. This T line is in its 1st production and some issues are bound to surfaced like any other products.
yes. but need to do it every 2 to 3 months!
@@abcdef-cu7ek Is that a problem?
@@steveyhereNot a problem, as long as,enjoy doing it with your shop
@@abcdef-cu7ek I have been riding the T line for 10 months now. After the the 1st grease treatment the noise problem no longer appear. My monthly average mileage is 600 to 700 km. Most of my fellow T riders clocked between 400 to 700 km.
If by any chance the folds at Brompton read the comment section, I have a quick question: on this video, the preload bolt is a Torx30 one. On the video on "Handlebar Support Removal And Headset Servicing For T Line", it is a hex one, and its recommended torque value is 3nm, whereas the user manual indicates 4nm. Can you shed some light on this, please?
The reason I bought the T line is its light weight, external gears system and rust-proof frame. The difference in ride experience between the T line and my Superlight is so vast that I never would go back to internal hub system again. I have experience the squeaky noise momentarily but after greasing a few parts mentioned in the video, I no longer has the problem. I bought the bike end Feb and currently the mileage is about 2500 km.
This company just relies on how much it will cost they just make it so expensive for literally no reason it's like a bike company that it makes very little bikes and then make the bikes high price for literally no reason titanium
My titanium bicycle is way cheaper and lighter Even the tires are titanium This company always forgets about the titanium wheels the titanium chain and everything everything should be titanium including the handlebars and folding bolts
I am appallled that Brompton has only now released this information. This is a $5000 top-of-the-line model. I think Brompton needs to provide this service free of charge twice a year.
best if they make a recall, and possibly replace with modified parts or components, which require minimal maintenance 😮
I could build a bike that is twice as good as this twice
As light as possible
This is the titanium version you can also get a lighter version that is cheaper but more easier to break after long uses there's less parts we
Made this bike with as little parts as possible by doing this we save 4000 dollars from thats pricey Brompton
No matter which company makes their bikes light as possible it will never be as light as mine
Moving further and further away from the delightful almost maintenance free hub geared Brompton designed by Andrew Ritchie. I’m lucky enough to own an M3L, several years old now and it serves me well, carrying me and my loads day in, day out, all weathers, all year round, year after year, proper go anywhere, do anything bike. Maintenance? Pump the tyres once a fortnight, drop of oil on the chain occasionally. Best bike I’ve ever had and I’d not swap it for a T-Line, thanks. Please keep the hub geared bikes. Please.
whats the equivalent of m3l now ? c line ?
Cool for you. Love the t line tho
The same for me with my C-Line, I never had an issue with it. To see the maintenance on the T-Line, not sure now that I want one 😮
Give me Brompton. Brompton me. Brompton now. Me a Brompton needing a lot now
I Love that!! Titan
This has discouraged me from upgrading to a T line.
Perhaps for the time being , the P line or Chpt3 V4 is the best ride Brompton you can get, before they further improve the T line 😊
I wish the P line had some more exciting colors!

bumble Bee or chapt 3 v4 , but u need to pay extra over the regular P
@@chrisg61053green one is coming…
what to do if grease is on the suspension block thread and cannot be loosen up any more?
That that means that you
Just total yourself
@@Mingzhe583 No, use pliers.
@@714SNF you know it already but you just don't want to tell anybody for literally no reason
Easy? Not so much
Spend over $5,000 for the privilege of all this maintenance. No thanks, I'll take a hard pass on this model and buy a C or P line.
Surely this would be needed on them all?
Most T buyers are buying its ultra light and special design for their collection.
so, its not a regular riding bike. And the extra required advanced upkeeping lubrication is not so required , we assume
@@abcdef-cu7ekMy wife and I both ride this bike almost daily. The annoying noise makes me upset every time I ride it. When there is no noise, it’s a superb ride.

Perhaps you have to start bringing them to the shop for the lub job, which might have to be done every few months , depending how often you bike!
Brompton bike: here is $5,000
My bike: This foldable bike only cost $400 it's cheaper better than any other bike in the world it's not titanium but it's a special kind of fiber it's not fiberglass but it's
Polymer fiber which is extremely light I only weighs about 2 kilograms take that stupid price Brompton
£4k? Lol, I don't think so
