- Moving forward with the bathroom finishing work, I need to get the mirror frame made that matches the vanity. The overall size of the mirror with the frame is 35.5 inches wide and 33.5 inches tall and it was designed to match the width of the vanity.

That looks great John!
Thanks for the tip with the screw in the key-slot, that's pretty clever I think. :-)

That raised eyebrow though......The names Bond.......UniBond
Looks Awesome. Economical plywood + great skill = excellent result
John I'm really like the sped up video with the normal talking. That just feels like the prefect balance of the two. Get the information and get to see you do most of the work!
Yeah this was a really well-produced video
Looks fantastic,I really like the dark stain.
John handles a table saw like the pro that he is...drives the safety police nuts...👍👍👍
Fantastic work as usual. Thanks for the tip about cutting two pieces at once for the miter. I've never been able to get mine to line up as nice as that. ☺
Great looking job John. And, as always, educational for us learners. Thanks
A lot of good info. Especially about putting the keyhole slots in the side rails and taping the screws in for marking the holes. Thanks.
Awesome job John, love the color selection, and miter's look great as well!
Great looking mirror frame. Also - very clever way of marking the location for the screws.
Cool man. You're nonchalant attitude and subdued confidence gave me the motivation I need to do the exact same project.
Beautiful frame, and i never thought of the tip of 10:30, nice, thanks again Mr. Heisz, we never stop learning from you.
+1 on the tip for finding the correct location for screws to hang from a key hole. Thanks!
Nice build, John. I liked your tip for hanging the mirror.
I had the same task to do about a year ago on a rental. The mirror was larger, and set on a landscape plane. But because I was concerned about it staying on the wall, I purchased some special mirror adhesive guaranteed not to affect the mirror. Basically stuck the mirror on the wall and then used a frame I built, mitered and doweled to stick that on the wall.
Oh, the frame you can buy at your big box, was just simple pine they had routed a nice profile on. I had to cut the rabbit for the mirror of course. Stained it similar in color to yours, but the width of it just a bit narrower.
Hopefully it doesn't get broken, it will be difficult to fix. I love to see these types of videos, gives me more confidence that I'm doing things right (I hope anyways).
Nice looking frame John. Great tip on the screw placement!
Love the idea of bedding the mirror with construction adhesive. I am gonna be doing a larger mirror, so may add mechanical fixings too.
Nice job on the mirror John. Plus nice mitres on Mitre saw. I like the tip on the Key hole slots and the tip of putting finish on the mitres . There was many more tips in this video.
Greg Tokley I agree... So many useful tips. I wouldn't have thought of adding extra stain/poly to the miter joints.
Good job. Thanks for the screw as a marking gauge tip.
Amazing how good a bit of plywood can look. BTW your rock t-shirt collection is impressive!
I like it. I learned a lot from you making this mirror framed that I’m going to include in my powder room project for my son condo unit. Rather than buying the finished expensive mirror frame from a furniture shop
Great job john! Looking good!
When I got a rod for in the kitchen for hanging things like utensils, etc... up from IKEA, in the instructions they specifically said to use that same method as you used with the screw in the keyhole, that way you could accurately locate where they should go. Simply put a level on it, then push a bit to mark the hole in the wall.
It's very nice to see others confirm that that is a good way of doing it, certainly beats having to do all the measuring (besides getting the height off the ground correct).
Thanks for the tip on locating the tops of the keyholes. I would have used dowel centers, but your method is much better.
BLUE OYSTER CULT! FTW! I have tickets for their concert in January.
lovely work john as usual!!
Always enjoy you videos, great work.
Looks damn good is how it looks! Could've used this video series about 3 months ago. Would've made my life much easier.
I'm udderly impressed, great video!
Omg I need to fine a man just like you John lol.. I just came across all you’re channels and I’m just in heaven watching you build. You are so talented! I love to DIY with wood and make things but I have no instruction other than videos which is not bad by any means. I just would love to have a man that I could build things with and learn from and of course it’s always fun to have company ( well sometimes ) it definitely is my therapeutic time that’s for sure lol.. Anyways I just wanted to introduce myself and thank you for sharing such great, well informed videos. I will continue having marathons on you’re channel for inspiration and techniques 😘 your admirer Kimberly hahaha
looks wonderful !
Looks great John. Tfs.
Another great video thanks John
Nicely done!
nice result John!
Very nicely done
Looks great, I like the screw in the keyhole trick
I love the t-shirt message.
Looks really nice.
Great idea with the screws. What ratio do you use when mixing stain and poly?
Very well done!
Dude you are amazing ❤️Just joined your channel. ❤️
Nice finishing work...I also like the "No one cares that you're offended" T-shirt.
How's that look? Damned spot on, John!!
Looks good!
Looks great. You da man.
One question. How is the material you used considered plywood ???? Looks liked veneered particle board. You are usually specific and to the point, what gives ?? Are you calling it plywood because it does have veneer and you are considering those the plies ?? Just curious. Love the channels. Keep up the good work.
I like the flow of this video.
@12:43 ... one of my regrets in life is never being able to master the "raise one eyebrow" thing... Sigh.
Great looking frame. Nice tip with the keyhole technique.
Eyebrow raising 101 was the first compulsory course in the "Learning To Be An Asshole" certificate program. I aced it :)
Cracks me up every time he does that. lol
don't tell me you can't move your ears or nostrils either ?
Great looking frame John! You were different in this video.... not sure how, but it was pleasant to watch.
Very nice t-shirt dude! Haha. The frame looks great, congrats!!
it looks great.
The thumbnail looks like the beginning of an SNL Stuart Smalley skit :) The bathroom is coming along great!
Looks GREAT!!! forget new, will refurbish my existing medicine cabinet. Thanks john.
Looks good.
Very nice!
Please tell me that shirt is your merch! If not you should totally have some, I’m sure most of us would enjoy repping you!! Watched every single video you’ve made😊👍🏻
Excellent!
That screw tip is cool. I don’t need a wire and a hook
great job
Howz it look?
It looks bloody perfect mate 👍
Looks nice.🏛🎧
Amazing beautiful paint stain you have there, what is it and what color? Very nice work John:)
nice keyhole pre drill tip, thank you
Great Video John........Question, How did you achieve level on that mirror install, great eye or is that corner plumb enough? Anybody? Thumbs Up again John
Looks good to me. If I was an inspector, I'd buy it.
Looks great John. Is the spray finish the danish oil that you mix up?
the look at the finish hahaha, nice project
Kind of impressive how he have his hands hugging the blade. I don’t trust my half ass used table saw that’s missing half of the parts that much yet.
Very nice
Any concerns about the moisture in the BR compromising the adhesive? I've used silicone to make 10 mirrors over the years, but the glass folks feel I need a back to protect the adhesion if it's going in a bathroom.
LOVE the t shirt!!!!
You ask "How does that look?". Wel sir fantastic is the right word here.
awesome screw marking trick. worth watching just for that. I don't have all the tools that you have.
If you had the mirror before making the frame, would it better to just use a jigsaw to cut the frame rectangle right from the sheet?
I love that shirt!!!!!!!
Great!
Thanks fore the video.
what's the construction adhesive brand you used in this video? I'm in the process of building a mirror frame myself and hadn't thought of using adhesive to secure the mirror...
It looks like plywood but it seems to be "PAL" (in my country or particle board in different areas) , any way doesn't matter the material the frame looks 10+ (or A+) i liked the trick with the miters ;). Keep up the good job and good health John :)
It's called "particleboard core plywood" in USA/CA. The outer plies are real wood veneer.
in my country i don't think that the outer plies are from real wood ;)) .... because in my country (Ro) we can buy pfl, hdf etc. that have one face looks like wood but it's not made from real wood.... but this is a topic for another day ;))
When miter cutting finish wood like your mirror frame...do you angle the miter saw in (just a few degrees), to insure the "tightness" of the exposed miter fit?
Undercut? No.
An honest question, from someone with limited construction experience who would like to learn from a greybeard: when you're working on a site, and there's the plywood type you used here, as well as the type that laypeople think of when they hear the word "plywood," how would you distinguish between the two? I.e., the foreman says 'Grab me a sheet of plywood,' how do you know exactly what he wants? I'm assuming the two types aren't interchangeable in their use. Thanks for the great videos; I learn a lot from your work.
Plywood frame looks great
How is that look? mean you or the mirror ;-) you are the best budget utuber
Nice mirror.
I commend you on not breaking the mirror
especially during the an unwrapping of it
whew
Like the Shirt!
What is the mathematical equation for determining the length of each side when using miter cuts? And, how wide are your rabbets?
silly question, is there a workaround if i don't own the biscuit jointer?
sorry, what router bit did you use for the screw slot?
OMG That shirt: Nobody cares that you're offended! Love it!
Looks good but don’t cut corners with that construction adhesive you are better then that. Sure you will never see it but still finish it the way it should be
Nice t-shirts.
whats ur top three favorite bands
What size bit did you use in the joiner?
looks like veneered particle board ?
Did you ever make the drawers?
Sometimes you think oh man, here goes John, what's he going to mess up this time, but no, he makes a beautiful mirror that reminds you that you aren't good at anything. 🙁
also is that oak plywood?
How do you know how deep you want your rabbit so that the mirror is snug.
Do you first see how thin the mirror is ?
