Second viewing really turns this scene from something kinda sweet into something very sick and twisted. She knows damn well who Rachel was, or that Alfred has left. What one assumed was her innocent questions are clearly being calculated to hurt him emotionally.
No way. Bruce was already emotional hurt a lot that day to even be remotely confident in combat. The trauma of losing Alfred, what Alfred said about Rachel forsaking her promise to Bruce, losing his company - all these things being torn away from him. More likely, he felt somewhat soothed from having sex with Talia.
"When I was a child, you know, growing up with the League of Shadows, we had almost nothing. And on the nights when we had a fire, usually from the cities we were decimating, we felt very rich indeed....."
Love the use of the very subtle editing to show the scar on her back. To an unsuspecting viewer, it signifies that Miranda has not always had a pampered, wealthy lifestyle (which goes with the dialogue). To a very keen-eyed viewer, they'd notice that it is the shape of the League of Shadows brand instrument used by the Ra's Al Ghul decoy in Batman Begins. Great symbolic Easter egg.
Things to consider. 1 Talia's suddend appearance at the mansion was a calculated move cuz she was in on the Bane setup later that night. 2 Talia knew that Wayne's love, Rachael, died and wanted to rub it in more by asking him who she was. 3 Slept with Bruce, hoping that it would weaken him before the fight. 4 Mentioned that they could take her plane and go anywhere they wanted. Probably the same plane that we saw early in the film and was used to carry Bruce to the pit. nuances .
To be honest, Bane is more like a father figure to her. I would like to think that not all men only care for women for sex. You ask me, it really humbles Bane's character.
Marian Cotillard was hot in Dark Knight Rises. Talia al Ghul planned her revenge for 8 years - she adopted the alias Miranda Tate so she could get close to Bruce Wayne. Bruce can gain her trust and confidence and allow her to take control of the company and to kill him.
I love how Chris Nolan made the story in such a way, that when you see the film for the second time, you think 'aaaaaaah! I get it >_>' "I've made a few mistakes myself." "More than a few......"
Imagine if they put Katie Holmes face in the Rachel Dawes picture, I think it would've been a bit more emotional. And her acting in the fight for a better Gotham city seemed more stronger.
Watching this seeing what everyone watched during that 10 year stretch these movies came out is nuts. Reading the comments I see this movie was like ecstasy for some people
I agree with respect to The Dark Knight Trilogy, but as to all Nolan films I would say that there was real heartbreaking chemistry between Cobb and Mal in Inception.
I know but he spends the movie training and rising to save the city which he thought would be by defeating Bane. That's what he was training for. He hardly had to do any training during the movie to defeat Talia, just piloting expertise that may or may not have been impacted by the autopilot.
Also, she knows he's Batman so I doubt she would expect him to abondon his city and go with her on a plane somewhere while Bane is still present in the city to finish his plans.
Actually, I feel that Miranda was the one that was the most unneeded. Catwoman had a far bigger purpose because she was the one who got him out of his room, led him to Bane with her betrayal and thus leading to Bruce's redemption and she served as a valuable ally in the final battle. Plus she also serves as a potential future for Bruce after his retirement. Miranda's only purpose was for shock value as a secondary villain and to tie the movie with Batman Begins, which was unneeded in my opinion.
Since Bane was excommunicated, it's likely that he wanted to redeem himself and prove worthy of being a member of the League of Shadows. A good chunk of the plans were likely Bane's not Talia's. The whole giving Gotham hope and poisoning their souls thing was likely Bane's plan because it connects to what he learned in the Pit. Plus the fact that Bane refused to listen to Talia's plea about not killing Batman shows that he is his own man and is not just and obedient dog.
I don't get why Talia slept with Bruce - she didn't really gain anything from it, and it was nothing to do with her and Bane's overall plan. It would make more sense if she genuinely had feelings for him, but the ending makes it pretty clear that this is not the case.
In the comics, there was kind of a love-hate relationship between Bruce and Talia, there was part of her who followed her father but also had a soft spot for Bruce. Same with Bruce for that matter, he didn't necessarily trust her but he also showed a soft spot towards her. I always viewed this scene as kind of displaying that side Talia. I don't know what Nolan's intentions were for this scene but I always felt that way about this scene. I always felt that Talia, in a way, liked Bruce in the Dark Knight Rises. She could have revealed herself long before she actually did in the movie but only did it at the end when Bane was in the most danger.
JokerDenny, how did you manage to upload these clips, when the film doesn't come out on DVD til this December? Till u uploaded these, the only clips i saw were leaked and as though they were recorded on a camera in a cinema.
Katie Holmes had the choice of doing the Dark Knight, or another movie (I don't recall which one, but it was one of those shitty romantic comedy ones). It's her fucking loss, for missing out on this epic trilogy. You can't blame Nolan for this.
good question. As per the comic books, they have an "on again/off again" relationship.. and Ra's al Ghul's hope was that Talia and Bruce would hook up longterm.
Bruce's silence when Miranda asks him about Rachel is absolutely heartbreaking.
Bane: Friendzoned
Batman: Gets to sleep with her on the first date.
I think you are wrong...bane was like a father to Miranda. He never was a lover.
He probably hasn’t had sex In those entire
8 years! 😩😰😬
Bane was like her father. It's more like a bane broke Bruce's back because he slept with his daughter

And two other places. In an order that would surprise you.
Batman had been holding that load in for about 8 months
You mean 8 years

to attack on a emotional level when bruce wayne is in such a situation...well played and totally necessary in the plot
And 10 years later... Hello Damian 😬
Monserrat Poot lol only comic fans know that
Im no expert but im pretty sure it only takes 9 months.

"Suffering builds character" - The key line in the entire movie imo
She robbed him of testosterone which may have helped in the fight.
Good point! I missed that shes a smart woman lol🤦♀️

Ya man that's not funny but its even biologically true.
Ohh boy😂😂
10 years later:
Bruce: "And that, Damian, is how I met your mother."
Damian: 0_o
this background music score is more than simple music..just resonates deeply

No shit Sherlock
Thank you, finally someone else who truly understands the Batman.
Really seals in the flavor!
Did Miranda really meant the words about taking plane and leaving thing or she was just testing Bruce that he goes after bane or not?
Good question

"I've made a few mistakes myself."
"More than a few......"
"Miranda Visits Wayne" from the Complete Score. But on the OST, it's "On Thin Ice", which repeats several times in the first half of TDKR.
How on earth did Christain Bale not get People sexiest man alive!!
Imagine if they put Katie Holmes face in the Rachel Dawes picture, I think it would've been a bit more emotional. And her acting in the fight for a better Gotham city seemed more stronger.
god it really is the entire cast of inception minus leo, and i love it.
Watching this seeing what everyone watched during that 10 year stretch these movies came out is nuts. Reading the comments I see this movie was like ecstasy for some people
it was a cruel ploy
I like him better with selina
Amy Anner agreed
Amy Anner no miranda is a queen
Miranda Tate fuck no she’s not good looking.
Rent My Ego I don’t know if you’re talking about Anne Hathaway or Marion cotillard but either way you’re wrong
Who else saw "Public Enemies", (which also co-starred Bale and Cotillard) the year before this came out?
WilcoBravoSchnauzer I was thinking of that movie too😂
Actually, Public Enemies came out three years before DKR
Because when he didn't kiss Rachel back in the first one, he lost her
That was a cruel ploy? Sign me up for another!
Ass mouth vag
How I wish I was that girl who did he kissed.
Ikr
The only one He Kissed 😎😎😏
me too
Every chick loves when "Dark Knight Rises"🤣

She is such a back stabber...
Jay Skrine side stabber actually

Jay Skrine wager
He stabbed her first… with his dick
woah he stabbed her for real
Amazing scene. underrated.
when Miranda really love Bruce when she said"we leave tonight take my plane go anywhere we want" or it just for show
Show
I honestly wish Rachel didn't die. Bruce loved her so much! That's the woman he wanted a life with.
0:45 Who is this?
Jake Gyllenhaal´s sister.
Yep :-P
No, Marrion
mysterio's sister
"Suffering builds character." Get it folks? She's talking not only about him, but herself. Wink*
I think he stayerd with her not out of love but because of the emptiness he felt because Miranda reminded Rachel.
I know but he spends the movie training and rising to save the city which he thought would be by defeating Bane. That's what he was training for. He hardly had to do any training during the movie to defeat Talia, just piloting expertise that may or may not have been impacted by the autopilot.
Can someone tell me what that white bird is on the desk?/ table next to the pictures
for some weird reason i would have prefer to watch this romance unfold instead with catwoman besides she did bear a child with him
What's this theme on the ost?
Damn does Bruce even have the key to his place 0:04
So where's Damian?
Damian appears in May this year :)
Doesnt exist
Amen to that! My favorite French actresses are Marion Cotillard and Clemence Posey.
Bale is a lucky bastard
silvermoonredmoon bale is too lucky because he had marion cotillard in this film
Miranda Tate bro he had Anne Hathaway
This scene reminds me so much of Deus Ex when you go to the DuClare Chateau.
lmaooooo!!! +1 for this one!!!
Also, she knows he's Batman so I doubt she would expect him to abondon his city and go with her on a plane somewhere while Bane is still present in the city to finish his plans.
I always laughed at 2:26 because I thought Bruce Wayne just knocked her out silly lol.
I love you son.
What is the soundtrack for this scene?

Right.
Where did you get this and your other clips in such good quality?
Bane: *watching them from a window* I will allow you to plow her like a field. Then, I will break you.
Why is it age restricted
Damn Straight.
What is the song playing right at the beginning of the clip?
Austin Porlier on thin ice
Good point.
Whats the soundtrack under this?

Went to read comments. Only find David Jones.
They are impressive.
This might be a a stupid question considering what happens later in the film, but 1 has to wonder if she really had any love for him?
Batsex. (both how it reads and how it sounds)
That I do know and if I recall they also had a child in the comics.
In the Playboy Magazine back in summer.
When I was little watching this I was asking my mother when I saw this scene “I’m watching a Batman movie right?”
Yes I thought that and I was like 7 when this movie came out
I don't get why Talia slept with Bruce - she didn't really gain anything from it, and it was nothing to do with her and Bane's overall plan. It would make more sense if she genuinely had feelings for him, but the ending makes it pretty clear that this is not the case.
she did it so Bruce let's her take over his company instead of Daggett.
Yeah but that was already agreed before this scene
***** So sleep with the guy you've hated and have plotted to destroy for 8 years or so?

Because she had Damian wayne
Talia just couldn't resist. And this was how little Damian Wayne was conceived.
Hahahah bruce now I am here
the scar on her back looks like the star trek logo lol
My thoughts exactly.
the Dark Knight Rises ........... O.O
Goddamn right he is.
2:25 - 2:27 Damn, Batman is fast when it comes to Woman!
He is almost like wolverine
Bane had reasons as well, I had already mentioned them in my previous first 3 replies.
Why was this video flagged?
DVD and BluRay got leaked on the 15th.

So by that logic, Harvey Dent was the main villain in TDK.
hes climbin in your window
Oh my god he is very kissing
Hoho
Not even a smart man like Bruce could withstand the coils of a Viper!
rocky:ya but I really like this girl ya know
That I agree bro. French women are so hot!
A is for Alfred. B is for bats
good question. As per the comic books, they have an "on again/off again" relationship.. and Ra's al Ghul's hope was that Talia and Bruce would hook up longterm.
Damian wayne come to this world
dang he did her that fast in 2 second
I don't recall any hitman. Except this is not Minority Report is it?
i'd like to be talia al ghul before she actually said she was talia al ghul
Damian being made haha
"Miranda Tate was a smokescreen to conceal his my true identity. My name is... Talia". My nod to Khan in Star Trek: Into Darkness.
He threw the dee down.
