I had created this video back in January of 2022, when I visited the Diamond Aircraft Factory in Vienna, Austria. I was given the opportunity to see the entire manufacturing process, as well as meeting phenomenal aircraft professionals, including my dear friend Alexei Lancerotto, who gave me a personal tour of the entire facility. I was also able to experience flight in the entire Diamond Aircraft Family, including the DA-40, DA-42, DA-62, and DA-50RG.

The DA-20 was my first transition from the traditional high wing Cessna I was used to. Fuel pump! Controllable Prop (blue lever). Low wing.
I was astounded how stable it was. Also, transitioning to the control stick was easy, and even offered a fine touch by positioning hand at various places up and down.
And the fuel flow - outrageous.

It looks cool, and it also seems like a very safe and stable plane to fly.

Насколько мне известно, флагман линейки -- это всё-таки DA-62. Он мощнее, если брать два движка в сумме, быстрее, гораздо дальнобойнее и семиместный. DA-50 -- это максимально приближённая к нему модель с одним двигателем, действительно наиболее новая в линейке.

An aircraft needs what is called the framework. Then different parts of assembly. Then the contours and mold to give a shape of somewhat like a fish. These are the basics of modelling an aircraft. First choice of materials is light weight extra strength and flexibility where needed for assembly of parts. Usually the material choice depends on the type of aircrafts and models. Carbon reinforcement fiber glass or plastic glass or silicates and the first choice for smaller light weight aircrafts. They first divide the aircrafts with the contours as major 5 parts framework glues and hardening. Layered pressing of different composite gives extra strength and the contours. First they have the main body two layered with female and male type frame and glued. Then the two wings and the tail end. Temperature weathering is for the materials to harden once glued. With smaller and bigger separate. They also have inlays contours for fuel tanks and storage and engine and dash assembly. This reduces the amount of extra assembly and stability and firewalls necessary and the aircrafts CG. Once they are all designed and glued and hardened it is all the assembly of engine and gearbox and piston and cylinder and what is called the core aircrafts crankshaft and the blades thick to get boosted. The holes and the shelves are for the control structures and the fuel mixture capacity. As for functional engine hydraulics gears and coordination with the flights direction of movement and the flaps accordance and synchronisation. Most of them have front and a rear seat assembly for piloting and navigation and some have two seater types in the front and some single seater. Mostly front rotar type and air thrusters at the nose and gliding parameters and flexible spring wheelers type. With possibility of ammunition and maybe some electrical controls with recharge capacity for fire up and ignition and rotation speed controller. First level aerodynamic design structures with single thrust. A miniature plastic model is the first level aerodynamic tests for thrust and the behaviour. Later colour combination to get the look and feel. Heat cold air. Engine of choice maybe electric or fuel type or mix.

Flew in the military and cant afford to do it out of the military but if we are talking dreams this one is on the list. The 62 is ugly but what it can do is the real gem, the motors are sexy!

noticed standby attitude indicator not sync to main during inverted flight. Likely unable to simulate flameout .
One More thing ...Every Car manufacturer produces a special version..I am sure Diamond Aircraft can build an Aerobatic version for the Competition Pilot ...The same way Edge and Pits Special did it...

Нет не изменилось. То что самолёт летает как самолёт; не аргумент. Пока что самолёт точно не для американского рынка, слишком дорогой и нет массового сервиса, те же движки.

What is Part 2 and 3? We published next part about Diamond DA-40 a few month ago. Next video about DA-62 will be ready in a few weeks.
The composittanks are in case of a damage ,repairable?

Наверное надо спросить там «где-то». В сша летают циррусы выпущенные в 2001 году. 20 лет прошло; а они все не падают….;)
@@About_Aviation В европе до сих пор летают стеклопластиковые планеры 60-ых-70-ых годов выпуска.

It’s interesting how airplanes require so much manual labor compared to automobiles where there is a ton of automation and robots building them.
I had always the same question!! All pipers, Cirrus and now I can see the Diamond do the same. It's ridiculous but looks like this is only one way.

why does Audrey have a look on his face and body language that seems like he is annoyed or is looking down on the gentleman from Diamond ? he seems to be looking around and not paying attention to his answers to his questions. he also follows up with additional questions rather than commenting on the answers he given as if he took too long to answer and Andrey got annoyed and moved on

почему они делают такую красоту с радаром но без парашюта?
Ну они любят даже посмеяться про парашют в Цирусе. Что их самолетам не нужен парашют, они могут летать сами) парашют был эксклюзивной фишкой цируса, остальной рынок не решил, что теперь это стандарт. Парашют это дополнительный вес, уменьшенная полезная нагрузка. Кстати, вы можете его доустановить почти на все самолеты, есть фирмы, кто этим занимается.

Я с большим удовольствием подумаю про второй двигатель ночью чем про парашют). Но, мне кажется, что это вечный спор - один двигатель, два. Парашют крутая опция (все вспоминаю тот случай столкновения в воздухе цируса с Эмбрайером), но вопрос компромисса по весу все-равно остается. Кстати, проверил рынок продаж - капец как Циррус впереди, не знал, что настолько. Просто в Европе их реально гораздо реже встретишь чем даймонды.
Я долгое время был фанатом Цируса (ну и конечно остаюсь, но теперь больше смотрю на 50 RG), пока не начал чаще летать в Европе. И теперь удивлен скорее про использование авгаза и отсутствие того же Фадека. Я арендую самолет в своей школе и сейчас это в основном 172 с Фадеком (переделанная на CD-155), сплошное удовольствие. Если циррус выпустит 7 поколение 22 на джет фьюле, то они сильнее смогут захватить рынок Европы.
Если будет возможность, то сможете потом дать свой взгляд на даймонды и сравнение их места на рынке по сравнению с Циррусом? Спасибо за видео! Думаю, что теперь сам попробую договориться с ними на экскурсию и полечу туда.
Just received delivery of a new DA62. After months and months of delays, many at last second, bird finally arrived. The certified instructor who was supposed to train a local airline pilot to train us just left right away. No warning, no explanation, just bolted and won’t be back for 2weeks? Terrible.

@@alexeilancerotto2487 yes, the owner and myself, w our mechanic have been in contact with the diamond service center. Now the question is parts availability, time for repair, and how long this brand new plane will be unavailable. Weeks, months? Next year? Diamond doesn’t have the best reputation for expediting service. Hopefully they bend over backwards given what has happened.
