  • A selection of footage from my day trip to Nancha in 2016 to finally get to see the triple header freight trains heading north. Freight is now typically in the hands of DF4C and HXN5's and passenger trains with DF4D and DF4DK diesel locomotives.
    You can read more about this line on my trip report :

      HXN5 class (GE ES59ACi). First two were built in the USA, the rest (some 750+ to date) under license in China.

      Thanks Ron, great video. I was only 10 when that was shot, doubtful my parents would have let me head off back then!

      @@petesworldrailwayvideos Pete, I googled the Nancha, it looks like very rural part of China.... Did you intentionally travel to those rural part of China?

    • @petesworldrailwayvideos
      @petesworldrailwayvideos  Před 4 lety

      Absolutely! I found some of the most rewarding railway places to be way out in the wilderness. A full list of my railway trip reports can be found on my website : www.chinesemodeltrains.com/webtrips.html . Nancha isn't a major town, however it was an important railway junction with the lines heading north to Yichun and Wuyiling from the Jiamusi - Harbin main line. The depot was pretty large as most train required banking locomotives for the first few kilometers out of Nancha. The depot still exists and is used for diesel helpers these days, but is a shadow of its glory days.

      It is a Chinese copy of a Nathan airhorn. The manufacturer is called ZBD. I can't find any otger info about it. All but 2 of the HXN5 were license built in China.
