It's curious to me to read comments arguing theology here. This video is a personal testimony of Sara--how her life was changed. You can't argue with that. It's her story. We can believe or disbelieve, but it is a beautiful story as are most of the stories Sara tells or sings about. I appreciate the gift of hearing what God keeps doing in the life of a singer/songwriter who has never stopped asking God what's next, rather than just rest on her laurels and awards. Praise God for Sara Groves

I thank you for sharing this story. It reminds me of how the words of the Bible can strengthen people in adversity, and help them to overcome situations that are incredibly difficult. I appreciate this encouragement.

Not all prayers are answered the way we want. Sara is not talking about a lucky rabbit's foot, but about getting to know and becoming intimate with our maker. We all need encouragement, we all need role models, and Sara is talking about how the experience of others recorded in the Bible helps her day by day to put her hand into the hand of God.

Great for those who have their prayers answered? The rebuttal is all the other people who were not or have not been saved. I guess God doesn't care about them since they don't have enough faith!

Hi 1MSOFT, I know it was a year ago you posted this, but I want to respond that Jesus did preach the first commandment, but then He went on to prove that He Himself IS God. in fact, He was crucified for the "blasphemy" of His claim - something He planned all along in order that our sins be atoned once and for all. This was something mankind could not do for ourselves; God had to do it and it was His plan from the beginning. I pray you will read the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) and see.

There's no way for you to know if it was luck or not.

If it is chance, what are the chances of that? Remember what Jesus said in the gospels: "FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL, WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES, HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.'"
I pray this does not apply to you.
Instead, I hope the subsequent verse applies to you: "But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."

fine, she prayed to God and He got her prayers.. if you say so. but what about all the other people in the past who have been kidnapped and tortured who prayed to God but were not saved? why weren't their prayers answered? this girl was not saved because she prayed to God. she was saved because the men looking for her did their job. I'm not bashing this religion, I am a believer of God. dont think events like this were played out by God but was mere coincidence she prayed the night she was saved

Like there are different senses to the definition of most words, there is more than one sense to the definition of "saved". Moses was killed by God for having a temper tantrum as described in Numbers and the end of Deuteronomy. Was he saved? When he appeared with Elijah to Jesus, Peter, James and John, Moses showed no discomfort and did not smell like hellfire. Moses was saved.

t was just luck! Do you how how many people that aren't as lucky oh yeah those stories don't make the news as much! So maybe 1 to 1,000 are saved and that one story makes the news so it seems like a "miracle"... Lies!
