Snake makes the book «Being genuine; Stop being nice, Start being real » by Thomas D’Ansembourg glow in the dark!
I don’t always agree a 100% with him but I certainly appreciate his perspective and knowledge. An amazing « tell it how it is » duo with the one and only Tony (Soul Glo hair) Marinaro!
He’s not a “tell it how it is” guy. He’s a find the players weakness, attack it, and say they’re not going to be good because of it, while ignoring their many great attributes.
Snake the best contributor by far. Spits the truth with no butt kissing.
Another great show! Snake’s opinions are based on evidence. He watches games not clips on CZcams.
That’s why he thinks Mailloux is gonna be a 6th d?
@@tylerw7847 He won’t be top 4. His attitude is not the tops
@@LL-mt2nzwhat attitude are you referring to? I’ve heard nothing but positive things from his coaches and teammates. The only attitude I’m aware of is his hostility towards the opposition.
He doesn’t need to be like anyone, Cale Makar is his own player, Quinn Hughes is his own player, Adam Fox is his own player etc this is why they are superstars… Lane Hutson will be Lane Hutson he’s going to a very good player at the NHL level and he most definitely has Superstar potential written all over him… just because he’s not the next “Quinn Hughes” or the next “Cale Makar” does not mean he won’t be a dynamic offensive threat because in my opinion he will and he will be looked at as himself and that’s why he’s special… Threw out his NHL career they may say he’s like players from the past just like they say Cale Makar is like Bobby Orr but they also say There is no player like Makar today and they also say that about other elite Dmen and Hutson has the potential to be that, Himself.
I see his games and he looks good, but I don't think he will play in an all star game unless his skating improves markedly.
@@rgood1204He’s an incredible skater. Just doesn’t have great top end speed, doesn’t need it.
Snake 🐍 should be hired by the Ottawa Senators as a scout.
Monahan is still worth a first round pick his contract is very valuable and he’s still on pace for a good season and is very good with faceoffs.
The truth will set you free but the real truth is that this guy is interesting , is on the show quite often so there must be a reason for that and I like what he has to say even though it may not be popular.
Lol..there's no truth dude..he's a loser and losers agree with him
🐍 is the best 👌
Snake has zero clue lol
@@Dotngg6050- their draft history says otherwise. Facts over feelings. Verifiable facts you can Google about their drafts.
Hello Team

Carey Roy was on fire in net!
Good podcast, the Snake always has an interesting perspective
Fans dont like when your down on the prospects. The reality is most of the time, the habs prospects are overated. Its been like that for 20 years at least. Im not a scout and i sure hope snake is wrong. However i like seeing a different opinion then the usual journalist/habs fan. Makes for a good show 😂
I never liked the prospects we had before most of them never had potential they were all projected to be bottom 6 players or AHL players or bottom pair D, The prospects that Montreal has now all have lots of skill their potentials are higher, They may not all make it and it’s almost guaranteed all of them won’t make it but these prospects are different… The Habs drafted skilled players instead of drafting for position or making safe picks, The only safe pick Montreal has made is Reinbacher but he’s a Safe Top 4 D prospect which is different from drafting Safe bottom pair D or bottom 6 players, Snake is literally the only scout I have seen that has said Lane Hutson is not an offensive wizard lmao… Nothing is guaranteed but I’m willing to bet Lane Hutson doesn’t just make the NHL I’m willing to bet he is dominant at the NHL level as he develops more at the NHL level…
@@tylerlussier1896- your definition of dominant? Norris trophy caliber? Perennial all star? Top 10 defender in the league? #1 on a Cup caliber team?
@@rgood1204 I think Hutson has the potential to be a Norris Trophy winner down the road especially if defence is not taken into consideration and it’s based on points ya I think he can be a Norris Trophy caliber and also a Superstar in the NHL if he hits his potential he will be the one going to the All Star Games for Montreal… In my opinion his ceiling is a 80-100 point OFD, His floor is a 40-60 point OFD… I really do not have problems with his defensive capabilities because he has played against NHL players at the WC and he was fine and actually had some highlight reels, EK65 is horrible defensively LIKE HORRIBLE lmao but that doesn’t stop him from being an offensive threat… Snake is the only scout that thinks Lane Hutson will not make it, Snake also uses Trevor Timmins as an example saying that he thinks Hutson is to small and won’t make it at the NhL level WHEN IN FACT Trevor Timmins also said that about Quinn Hughes which is why we passed on him AND Trevor Timmins is the same guy that said we had VICTOR METE so we passed on Hughes lmao Timmins said Hughes was too small and wouldn’t make it at the NHL level and we had Victor Mete implying that Mete would have been anything close to Hughes…. There is a chance Lane Hutson may not be as good as he can be but in my opinion he will be an NHL Top 4 D at the very least… I have Watched Lane Hutson before we even drafted him and I knew he was a special player when you watch him he has that “it” factor to him I do not care about his size he’s 5’10 now 160 pounds he will add more pounds but Hughes was also 5’10 and only 169 pounds soak and wet when coming to the NHL lmao and he played just fine, Hutson is very shifty I don’t care how big you are good luck getting the puck off of him he will make you fall on your face before you catch em in the offensive zone…
We love you Userpente!
Monahan is the best habs player. Hes underrated and should bring in large trade value right now as he is healthy. Trade him for s # 1 pick ASAP.
Nick Suzuki is the only iron man on the team. He’s gonna be the nhl all time iron man games played.
love how real the snake is i agree with tournament not being the best showcase of players . i wonder if monte is in goal we win that buf game is kent huges playing 3 goalies so we loose traction in the standings
Hutson had better stats than Hughes , Fox , Dahlin , Heiskanen and Morrissey. 3 short from Makar , Subban and Karlsson! While playing as much on the power play and the p.k! This guy is going to be a stud by 23-24
Well, the more I hear the Snake, the more I understand why he's not on an NHL team payroll!😂
Lane Hutson will not be like Quinn Hughes, But he does not have to be… Lane Hutson will be Lane Hutson he’s going to be a dynamic player, He does not have the elite skating like Quinn Hughes or Cale Makar that’s 100% known but offensively you have to be off your rocker if you think he cannot put up points like Hughes or Fox… Lane Hutson is actually a good skater he has very good edges and his straight ahead speed is above NHL average it’s his back skating that could use some work but he has improved on it since being drafted and he will continue to improve on it… I see Lane Hutson as a 50-70 point OFD and that’s his floor in my opinion he could be better than that… His compete level, HockeyIQ, Character level, vision, passing ability etc are all elite… I can understand what snake is saying is basically Hutson does not have elite skating so he won’t be able to produce like Hughes, But Adam fox does not have “elite” skating as well he’s a very good skater but not elite and he’s still an elite Dman, Lane Hutson has produced more than every elite defender at almost every level so until he proves he cannot produce at the NHL level I will continue to say he will be a NHL superstar in my opinion… I expect Lane Hutson to produce like Luke Hughes in his first full season but will be a better player offensively in the future in my opinion, 90-100 points for Hutson is not out of the question… Cale Makar had 21 points in 34 games in his first season in the NCAA, Lane Hutson had 48 points in 39 in his first season completely destroyed Cale Makars first year of production, Cale Makars second year he had 49 points in 41 games that’s a 1.19 PPG and in Lane Hutsons first season he had a better PPG with a 1.29 PPG… Lane Hutson IN HIS SECOND SEASON which is this one now he has a 1.33 PPG and on pace for 52 points which is way better than Makars Second season, So Lane Hutson out produced Makar in his first season and is about to have a better season again… The offensive talent for Hutson is sky high, He may not be an elite skater but he’s going to be a Power Play Monster and may even be just as good 5 on 5…
Happy new year to Tony Marinaro and Simon "Snake" Boisvert!!
I remember Casey, I have a keeper pool with a second team so we draft alot for the futur. He was the 0 pull-up guy at the combine 😅.
I expect him to make an impact IMMEDIATELY!! I don't expect him to be elite in his first year, but I expect him to make our PP deadlier and our transition A LOT better right away, the hype this kid is getting there's no way he can't do that!
Hi Adam, Indeed, there is a lot on hype surrounding Hutson being compared to Makar (4th overall)/Quinn Hughes(7th overall)...so why Hutson got drafted 62th overall in a weak draft year ??? All scouts had been aware of Hutson's amazing offensive abilities prior the 2022 draft. It had to be another major reason why he fell in the draft beside its size since Makar and Hughes were also very small defensemen back in their draft years??? As everyone says...time will tell !!!
By saying you expect him to make our PP deadlier would imply that said PP is currently deadly, when in fact it is just dead. Hutson might make our PP adequate.
Great show Tony ,and Snake .
Hutson is the next Hutson
It's funny when Snake say he's been called an idiot by some clueless fans. 90% + of the Habs fanbase was adamant that Habs should have drafted Shane Wright in 2022. Who are the real idiots?
It was alot less than 90%, stuff changed a few days before the draft
Hahaha his not really better just saying he was calling conor geekie the best player of the draft .
As many, just saw the header, who said it and that was enough of Tony's podcast. I mean, there's already too many trolls, dont need one with a mic
Simon Snake Boisvert is great! To me, he is not a hater or so. He tells it like it is. He doesn’t put down prospects, he’s aware that most don’t make it. Let’s see what went on with… Leblanc, Tinordi, Beaulieu, McCarron, Scherbak and to a certain extent, Galchenyuk. If every first rounder became a star, we’d have a 100 teams league. lol Snake is helping clear the view and identify flaws and doubtful things in players. SICK
I won't listen if snake is on.
@@STEPOFFBITCHH come on snake, go bug someone else. Responding to negative videos on your own video. Nice snake nice.
Lane Hutson played against NHL players and other players at the WC for USA and had 2 goals 4 assists 6 points in 9 games which is pretty good for a young player…
Tony has once again showed his lack of class calling The Snake "an idiot" because the Snake did not want to call Hutson a special talent...The Snake is a patient man to accept that abuse from Tony...the paycheck must be good !!!
Pretty sure that was an inside joke between them. Hutson is a special talent but that does not mean he should be compared to anybody yet.
@@richardgagne3255 yes indeed, it must be quite a joke to be called "an idiot" before thousand of people !!!
season edend when dach went down
Snake makes sense regarding the goalies...
Yes lets keep Monahan, so we can get a 10-12th pick instead of 5-6th. Sounds like a genius plan to me. Why would the Habs want to have an elite team in 3-4yrs from now when we can have a team that fights to make it into playoffs. Much more excitement, lol
Lane Hutson isn’t an overager in the ncaa it’s his second year he is young for the ncaa
Yeah at age 22 I think he will really come into his own.
Hudson is not Manar, he is Orr and Coffee.
The reason why Hudson won’t stay long in Laval is they desperately need someone on PP instead of Matheson. Even Reinbacher would be a better option. Matheson is a good skater not a good playmaker he’s so easy to read. With that being said I like him in the lineup.
Matheson is also a shit defender
@@adamCarter20 the human turnover machine
Hughes needs to tell Gallagher after this season if I can't trade you then you will be watching from the booth, question for anyone if Gallagher retires (he really should) how does that affect the cap ?
Not sure why he would retire and leave money on the table. The habs will buy out his contract if and when they are ready to make it to the next level (playoffs). At this moment his contract is a non factor because we have so many young players that are not on big contracts, once we need to sign Ghule, Slaf, etc in a couple of years then his contract will start to hurt.
Where is Musty?
With Hutson on the team, fans/media will have to get used to the 11 forwards/7 defensemen team system. Indeed, Hutson will likely become a good powerplay specialist with odd minutes as a third pairing defenseman...The snake Boisvert is their best guy when they want to talk about prospects and draft. He is not always right but it still makes sense what he says...same for Grant McCagg, who is a bit more "political" !!!
not going to happen
I trust Grant McCagg's opinion way more than a guy named 'snake' - Boisvert asserts himself as a hockey know it all - on the other hand McCagg knows it - doesn't have to pretend he's a know it all
Nice of you to sit in for your own show tony! kidding lol enjoy yourself buddy!
I understand that players picked in the 60s usually don't become stars. But I could say that to any pick after the top5. Actually, most pick do not reach the NHL.
I think it's a moot point.
Nikita Kucherov was also taken in the second round. Although I am not sure if it was the 60s.
@@jakubjohnson674158th. Close enough.
Hutson's trade value may never be higher. They should consider moving him if they can get something of value.
Marc Bergevin is the worst gm in the habs history but he did a couple of great moves. He traded for Suzuki and drafted Cole caulfied
How is an NCAA game worth more than a WJC game? Performing well against the best players in the world at your age group vs. a bunch of college players who mostly won't play pro is definitely important.
Also, Hutson may or may not pan out but his numbers are better than Fox's, Makar's and Hughes' so saying he isn't an offensive talent is just wrong.
Like i respect snakey boy, he’s entitled to his opinions but the thing that makes me laugh is opinions on draft + 1 year he doesn’t care what people doing in chl etc, people who are drafted at xyz are a xyz player, you can’t compare a 31 from one year to another year… every year has better or worst drafts
saying Mailloux draft plus one means nothing that he’s an ahl player is absolutely hilarious
Teams make evaluations and choose players that’s why some players drop, some raise, all this bickering is hilarious
Here’s my view, a player is drafted 62nd let’s say, it’s up to that player to put in the work and make the show, if player drafter 5th overall cruises and thinks he can get by on talent or maybe he does put in the work but the player 62nd body grows and surpasses the 5th overall guy lol there’s a reason the players play the games, put in the efforts, up and downs, injuries
But again saying that oh this person was drafted xyz theres a reason a player at that draft pick is a 6-7 d or wtv is completely dumb, tell that to Markov or Gallagher 😂 or even st-louis 😂
Snake! Slaf would not have been noticed if it wasn't for his performance at the world juniors, so for you to say that the world juniors is entertainment alone makes me think you are biased . Hutson should be a top 4 dman at the very least . Yes, he will take some time, but he's a stud in the eyes of the NHL.
its good that their losing next season we try to win...pay some 1 too take gallagher
lane hudson should be a forward
no
@@chrishansen8477 yeah, small player who can't skate backwards. It's going to be hilarious watching him defend a power forward like Mackinnon or Svechnikov blowing past him.
I am not even going to listen to this podcast. Reading the headline and then seeing who the guest is, is enough for me. I love Tony, but this is an hour I will never get back.
Same here
Simon is sush negative about mtl prospects
Hutson has some amazing attributes, but his skating & size are definitely things that some scouts will be pessimistic about. Simon’s take isn’t outlandish in this case
@@phildoy428- sorry his facts and their draft history bothers you. Those rose colored glasses should have been replaced long ago. Look at their draft history the last 30 years. Have they drafted a 80 point scorer? It's been abysmal.
@@rgood1204This snake guy also said Quentin Musty was a top 5 pick. I bet you have to google him 🤭. Boisvert says weird shit. I just don't want to hear him. But fill your boots.
Amazing talent evaluator.... whether people like it or not😁 preach on Snake
why is his nickname snake?
Goes back and forth with players' futures. 🐍 🐍 🐍 is a great 👍 hockey evaluator. 🏒
Because he eats snakes for breakfast
cause u cant tell his bum from his mouth
He pronounced his S with a Ssssss sound all the time 😂
Snake's consistent and frustrating tendency to always be the opposite of mainstream opinion is suspicious. Like a frustrated young teenager absolutely wanting to stand out from the crowd. Of course, by always aiming in the opposite field, he will inevitably be right a few times. But the fact remains that he always goes against his colleagues and that says a lot about his personality and his personal frustrations. And it is certain that he will have fans among those who, like him, love to go against the crowd for all kinds of personal reasons. It has reached the point where we can already guess in advance what he will think of this or that player. Just look at the general opinion and he will go against it.
This guy should cut this crap out. To negative with this kid. He hasn’t even played in the league yet. 2:54

@arbor-sq4jk armia is dogs hit for his contract. He puts in effort like 50% of the time, only works to stay in he NHL not thrive in it.
I have zero confidence in the Montreal Canadiens ability to predict or develop young prospects that will become star level players in the NHL. Last draft was the perfect opportunity to pick Matvei Mitchkov at a position where they were not pressured to choose between Will Smith, Fantilli or Carlsson. Instead, they chose yet another defenseman prospect in a class full of offensively gifted forwards. Picking Mitchkov had also the added bonus of keeping the Habs clumsy and sticky fingers away from this promising prospect, like rushing him too soon in the NHL before he has fully matured as a hockey player. Also, I don't know what the hell is going on with all those injuries but some heads need to roll in the medical staff, something is clearly rotten there and I feel like the team needs to do more to prevent injuries. Whether it is strength and conditionning issues, deficient sleep hygiene or bad nutrition habits, the players must do a better job looking for themselves because bad luck can only explain so much.
And it's one tournament lol at the same age Quinn put up 1/3 of the points Lane just did , and he turned out pretty good so we will see lol
Except Quinn is an elite skater. Makes a big difference in the NHL.
Still can't believe Tony defends MB. He sucked.
Before I even listen to this podcast, I must say that I have had enough of the snake. It seems like every single young asset drafted by the Habs is a bust very time he opens his mouth. Actually, I so t listen to his crap this time around.
Because the Habs don't take risks at the draft, something the Snake advocates for. No risk, no reward. Michkov was the one who got away, Hughes got scared and missed a golden opportunity at a moment when he could have taken such a risk. Not like he had the 1st overall pick this year and he had to choose between Bedard or Michkov.
god youre smart tony...its not even funny
Its boring
The snake has no idea on what a prospect can be he is the worst judgement of talent get him off this podcast
Can we see your draft guide from the last 20 years? 10 years? 5 years?
Sick of this guy now. He spends so much time trying to make everything fit his narrative and the predictions he makes based off of it.
He’s like a hockey version of a woke activist. Listens to no-one but himself.
And he doesn’t respect others’ opinions. That’s the part I can’t stand.
