    Hallo Jan, Leuk om dit zo te zien. Ik wilde dit ook nog doen met die van mij. Erg leuk om te weten dat je nummer 70 hebt, ik heb 75 dus praktisch even oud. (die felgroene QV) Het aantal kilometers zit ik ook net over de 10.000. Bedankt voor deze video.

      You might think about a Rolhoff hub, 14 gears, I have Shimano 11 speed cassette with slum mountain drive, sorry missed spelled the mountain drive. I like it, but don’t like the four gears different, when changing gears I Offen lose my momentum end up crawling up a short uphill when if I could of speed shifted I would of been able to run over the hill or upgrade. I have the Rolhoff on my trike. You can select any gear even if stopped. But then I’m only at 500 miles so far, I’m learning to pre select my gear. Just saying give the Rolhoff hub some thought.

      @@APhotographerTravels2025JohnMc Hi thank you for your reply and your experience sharing. Since then, I bought the QV with Rolhoff. Turns out it is a nice but only if you put an electric assist such as a Bafang 750w. Without that, I have a lot of resistance and it is hard to go above 40km on flat. So the Rolhoff is nice but only with a powerful motor.

    Love your review. Can you please do a power speed profile of the quattro and compare it to a regular 3 wheel velo that you've driven, for future videos.

    • @JanTrenson
      @JanTrenson  Před 4 lety +1

      There is some racing coming up in future in which I'm trying to compare the Quattro to three-wheelers, but from experience (not exact science) I can say the speed penalty is definitely noticeable. The weight and aerodynamics are poorer than, let's say, a DF.

    Hello Jan, would you happen to have a video, or other information about the LED light post you placed on the top of your QV? I think you called it a whip - is it flexible?

    • @JanTrenson
      @JanTrenson  Před 4 lety +3

      Many people have asked me about this LED whip and how it's built. Unfortunately, when I made it, I didn't keep a parts list. Also, I got help from people with the assembly and the mounting, so I kinda feel inadequate explaining what I did to others (read: I have no clue how I did it :-D) Maybe I'll make a video about it later, no promises :-)

    I wonder how it compares to the quest in resistance.
    Currently not driving my quest though, since the visor of my hood is broken :-(.
    I am also wondering if electric assist is possible in the Netherlands.
    I used to drive with my quest in the city off-bike-lane in Amsterdam, as it is much safer to be in front of a car, instead of taking them over on the right side.
    But 3 traffic lights in a row while the cars behind you are pushing you to accelerate like a car: very very slowly to 30 and then fast to 50, while a velomobile is 30 before you are at the end of the crossing, then slow to 40 and then very slowly to 50.
    And yeah, I don't like the kettwiesel, if you are used to doing 0 to over 30km/h before you are at the other side of the road, a kettwiesel will surprise you:
    You will go from 0 to 90 degrees, on your back, with the nose pointing upwards.
    It's really hard to ride a kettwiesel if you are used to bikes with the center of mass being at a normal place instead of just in front and above of the back wheels.

    I understand where, you're coming from in regards to how the front looks like an owl....I was speaking with someone from the U.K. since I will have a Quattrovelo soon. He and I, both being train fanatics....think that it looks very close to the front of the very classic speed trains.

  • @epiphanehouansodjim.2344

    Where do you bought the led light at the hood ? Which parts do you use ?

    Hello Jan, thanks for your insights. I'm also interested in your LED whip construction. How did you make it, how is the noise while riding etc. Keep up the good work

    • @JanTrenson
      @JanTrenson  Před 4 lety +2

      It's a bit flexible, but it creates no noise when riding whatsoever. About the construction I might make another video.

    Hi Jan, Just found your channel and subscribed👍... I've ordered my QV on Saturday and now waiting for who knows how long for it to arrive as Covid 19 has appeared. What type and where did you get the LED light from? and did you fit it yourself?... I'm hoping to go to Spezi next year, if the Covid 19 virus has been sorted out.

    Hi Jan
    I love your LED lightstick on the top, would love to see it in the dark..
    By the way, do you think the QV could carry a Brompton folding bike in the back ? It is about 65 x 60 x 25 cm ??

      Most of these things are actually not scratches. If I remember correctly, what you say is remains of soap or something.

      Eigenlijk staan daar geen krassen op. Ofwel was het door het zonlicht, ofwel had ik hem niet goed gepoetst :-D Mijn kinderen passeren er af en toe rakelings langs in de garage, maar de meeste strepen gaan er af met een natte vinger.

    At 7:30 we see numerous scratches on the side, are they permanent or can they be cleaned? I ask this because I'm quite a detailer on my car, and I know that removing scratches is much easier on steel than on plastic parts, but I don't know about carbon fiber.
