It's simple. Heeney, Blakey, Gulden & Campbell get to Collingwood via an academy rort they don't have, and Collingwood win this match easily.

Have you never heard of Bunton, Jesaulenko, Carey, Longmire, Kelly, Crawford, Hayes or the Danihers? NSW/ACT has been producing gun AFL footballers for DECADES before the Swans academy existed!
@@user-kw1gp3dq4o but the point is to help northern state retention which has gone way up since. u wanna talk about disingenuous, but then complain that the reason the swans won last night was academy players. since the academy was introduced in 2013, none of the northern states have won a granny. if the academy was as damaging to the rest of the league as u claim then why havent it been a sydney brisbane gws gold coast final every year???
Sydney were incredible
Scoreboard (as bad as it is) is flattering for the Pies. Margin couldve been at least another 3-4 goals if Swans kicked straight. Pies also scored 3 of their goals in the last 5 minutes. They're a mess atm. Sydney tore them up. Issac Heeney was outstanding. Chad Warner excellent too, Gulden's beautiful kicking. Their backline was great as well. Impressive performance.
The tackle on De Goey was the highlight of the evening

Interesting that this is the first time in the AFL that the pies and the swans have played at the MCG in back to back years.
I like Heeney in the midfield, Looks so poised and clean.
Still early on, but my curse of Friday night footy tipping continues. In all honestness though, full credit to the swans, they looked sharp with their ball movement all night against the pies and have produced a comfortable win against the reigning premiers.
Thankfully im 2 outta 2 afterbeing 0 from 4.

quite literally, swans kick a goal to go 40+ up and they couldn't care less, then pies kick one and they get down on their knees. beyond me.
It does really suck, at the end especially. No excitement, just purely dull from BT
But let's be real hear. No one gets a better deal off umpires when they play on their home ground. I think that makes up for BTs biases.

Amazing team Sydney are, to beat us then to beat the raining champs, is a great effort. I had nothing but high hopes for Sydney this year, Collingwood just seem off, other teams just want the win more, hungrier. Warner had a good game, quieting in 23’ but is going to be the explosive young talent he was in 22’ good stuff from Sydney! 🏆

The Pies haven't won back to back flags since 1936. The campaign has not started well, but it's a long season. The Bloods are looking pretty sharp early season.
As an AFL fan living in Holland I used to rely on full match replays in the AFL app, anyone know if those will be uploaded again this season 😕
Not sure about Holland, I believe in the US they get live broadcasts on a fox soccer channel, don't know if you can get hold of that. 🇦🇺🦘

As a sports fan, we should just enjoy the afl league as it is without many teams being judged, let down or barked at constantly. It's becoming pointless at this rate, but that's how media works and we can't fix it.🤷♂️

Great start to the season by Sydney, defeating two of the great teams in the AFL
& Collingwood...well, I'm sure they will drop a few players this week after getting dominated in the first two rounds

Yeah 0.54 was a clean mark, then the umpire called play on for stepping off the mark. It was a tough one i reckon. Another umpire might have paid the 50 metre penalty against the Sydney player for stepping over the mark. Interpretation is a big thing when it comes to umpires in AFL.
Collingwood have been comprehensively beaten on consecutive occasions. Have the opposition played that well or have Collingwood been that poor? I believe that latter is more apparent. In both games the score lines are flattering to Collingwood. Are Collingwood afflicted with hubris or have other contenders elevated themselves by a significant degree?
I would argue both, Collingwood played quite poorly however Sydney also played great with heeney have a dominant game
North Melbourne broke the Pies when they beat them in a practice match. Their confidence was shattered after that.

You cannot defend this fact. One way or another the AFL are going to arrange training wheels for the Swans because of the TV rights dollars.

You're a dope - don't you realise that in developing players in non-traditional AFL areas ie Sydney and Newcastle, we're expanding the pool of players? It means it's then less likely that the mummies boys from Melbourne will be drafted by a team like Sydney so they won't sook when they have to leave home. Collingwood pick the eyes out of teams from other states year after year, and combined with a healthy father son conveyor belt of stars (ie Daicos x 2 and Moore), they were good enough to go all the way last year.
Maybe you should stop whining like a little b!tch and appreciate what teams like the Swans are doing to foster elite talent in places other than Victoria.
