Remember when the Dubai people bought and built a whole landing station in PE after they heard the land has oil. Funny how ANC act like Zuma was all alone making decisions.
They won't touch that oil. They thought they are clever. In SA, our law says you can buy the land and acquire title deed but you do not own the mineral resources that are under your ground.
To prove my point. Government bought thousands of land hectors from white people and they willingly accept government offer knowing that there is coal/ gold, chrome, etc underneath. They knew mineral resources underground needs them to acquare Licence and mining rights which is costly.
Those indians will be removed by government and pay them their money with current value. To those indians it was just an investment.

SABC I've watched both of these long form "debates" / interviews - and honestly - the lack of control over the audience ruines this whole piece. We aren't interested in the audiences enthusiasm, we are interested in what the leaders have to say and how they will address issues put forward by the audience.
Having watched the very inspirational Arte tv Documentary about Mayor Chris Pappas ( 32) of uMmgeni Municipality and his Deputy Mayor , Sandile Mnikathi ( 28) on CZcams, the DA is by far the most progressive, the most compassionate and the most experienced choice to take SA and the Multi Party Charter forward in 2024!!

The biggest question is whether the DA can deliver its services towards black dominated areas. We all know they don't do it at CPT where they have been governing for years.
I think it's more complicated than tht.
For one most black people in the western cape live in townships and townships rely on national funding through the rdp programme.
Second, these townships are completely cut off from any close amenities. In fact the townships tht saw the most funding were newly setup townships post '94 within reach of infrastructure.
Third, police aren't provincial and due to mismanagement is inefficient and severely lacking resources. This makes it difficult for the DA to crack down on crime even within suburbs which is why most people rely on private security or neighborhood watch.
Fourth, have you been to a township? The people there have no regard for how they live. There is no order and trash lies everywhere and it doesn't help tht birth rates are higher in townships adding to the burden.
Lastly, I just want to conclude tht I live in a black neighborhood and due to subleasing the area is overcrowded so roads require more maintenance and the water is always off due to the sewage system being overloaded. Most people here vote DA because despite the illegal subleasing the party still provides. The water will come back in a short time period. The roads will eventually be fixed as they did last year to the main road coming in.
