Earthquake Ready or Not: Understanding the West Coast tsunami threat

  • A ghost forest near Copalis Beach, Wash. is evidence of the power of the Cascadia Subduction Zone. Ghost forests are areas of dead trees that have been invaded by saltwater, and the one at Copalis Beach was created in 1700, which was the last time the Cascadia Subduction Zone went off. The earthquake caused the land to drop between six and eight feet, turning the area into a salt marsh and killing the trees. There are also ghost forests in Oregon and Alaska caused by violent earthquakes.

      @@mybrotherskeeper6295 According to some ancient ideas of 'God'. You need to start thinking for yourself and stop blindly following ancient books written by humans just like us. Granted, there could be fairly historical events described in them, but they are NOT the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The "Old Testament" or Tanakh is just the Religion of the Bronze-Age Israelites. The "New Testament" was just the last version of the Greek Mystery Religion adapted for Hellenized Jews, by a Hellenized Jew c. 30 BCE.

    The earthquakes are only the beginning. There are also the mountains, Baker/Mt St Helens/Shasta etc, worst of which is Mt Rainier. Add to that the underwater volcano off the coast. We also have magma flows underneath Rainier/Baker/ Shasta which have been moving the plates. Remember all of the deep sounds that were coming from nowhere at random areas around the globe, well that’s the magma pushing those plates. I recall the moaning sound occurring during a Mariners game several years ago, and no one knew what caused it... What is coming is far worse than what is being let on.

      Christpher R Fritz - No doubt, ehh. I’m not into the “fear porn”, but there is plenty enough evidence via real time earthquake maps and thermal imaging of the magma flows on the west coast to get my attention.
      The question is when, and nobody really knows that. They’ve been saying that we are due for the “big one”, for quite some time. My thoughts go toward the magma flows. The thermal imaging they have, shows the heat expanding, or rising, rather.
      But what are we gonna do? Not much. When the “big one” occurs, those of us sitting on the west coast are more or less sitting ducks. So I guess, it is what it is.

    We are entering a period of Global Cooling. During the Maunder Minimum (1645-1715) the sun radiated less heat. Wheat prices in some years rose as much as 400% in the UK.
    But Dr Valentina Zarkhova has noticed that more significant than the slight global cooling is the reduction of the sun's magnetosphere. This allows more cosmic rays (nuclear particles from distant decaying stars) to strike the earth. The New Madrid fault had a major quake on 12-25-1699 during the Maunder Minimum. During the Dalton Minimum, the New Madrid fault had 4 quakes on 3 days in 1811-1812.
    Japanese scientists also noted an increase in the number of volcanoes during a Grand Solar Minimum. The likely cause of the increase in both quakes and volcanoes is the increased number of cosmic rays energizing the earth.
    The biggest result of a major California earthquake would be the immediate collapse of the freeways, sewer lines, water lines and hospitals. 20 million people would have no roads, no food, no water, no sewers and no hospitals. In 1906 a few miles north of San Francisco that earthquake threw a road 20 feet. Fortunately, people were riding horses.
    The Garlock fault which runs east-west near Santa Barbara is the Real Big One. That is what the Indians told the Spanish priests.
    Hint: Reno, Nevada is 25 miles west of Los Angeles.
    Hint: The Juan de Fuca plate off the coast of Washington is another Big One waiting to happen.
    All of thOse quakes (including the New Madrid fault) are being energized by an increasing level of cosmic rays.
    It is time to move out of these areas.

      @larryhillman5787 Před 4 lety +3

      Scientists have been warning about the threats of these quakes for many years. Unfortunately the warnings are ignored since there have been quakes off and on, the super massive ones haven't happened yet. I don't think people on the west coast are paying any attention even today. When it comes, they won't be ready.

    • @Horse237
      @Horse237 Před 3 lety

      @Frank Watkins California has lots of north south faults including one under the magma chambers of the 5 volcanoes at the Salton Sea.
      The one east-west fault is the Garlock fault and runs from the mountains to the ocean just above Santa Barbara. When the Spanish came to California, the Indians told the priests that the Garlock fault was the really Big One.
      The entire West Coast is doomed. And the New Madrid fault area.
      We entered a Grand Solar Minimum. The Sun's magnetosphere has been reduced so it cannot block as many cosmic rays as it did in the past. These cosmic rays (nuclear particles) strike the earth and energize our volcanoes ans earthquake fault zones.

    If you’re gonna bring a story to the public then you should discuss the entire subject. We have this awesome thing called the slow slip every 14 months. I think the only time we’re going to have an issue with in the Pacific Northwest is when the San Juan plate finally goes underneath the North American plate and we transition over to the Pacific plate. That’s when stuff is really going to start rocking and rolling.

      I S I live in Sedro-Woolley. I have 2 active volcanos that feed into the Skagit River, 1.3 miles from my front door. What nobody wants to talk about is the fact that the “San Juan” plate used to be called the “Farallon” plate. The N/A plate has passed the rise so it’s basically lost it’s punch. The real party will be when the N/A plate shifts over to eating the pacific plate, look at all the SoCal quakes, southern Oregon and Nor Cal, Lassen...The volcano’s of the NW are still very active, yes, but not like they once were, now it’s more like a fart filled old-folks home. Look at the old batholiths in the cascades, the Snoqualmie batholith was absolutely huge compared to anything we have here today, goat rocks was supposed to be even bigger. You should watch some Nick Zentner lectures and probably subscribe to Dutchsince if you want to be up to date on the subject...

The effect was greatest in the Americas, but This will effect greater damage in Eurasia. this time. Volcanoes and a world-wide flood will also accompany this current cataclysm.
