- Eddie and George are back for another practice report. The Sooners have moved their home opener up to a Friday night game Aug. 30 and George is here to tell us why and how it all went down. We're also taking a look at spring practices and naming our biggest transfers and freshman that look to make impacts much sooner than later.

That kid is gonna explode next season. He’s the only guy I know of that’s 6’5 and can move so fluidly and runs like a deer. Jumps really high and is physical.
And to think before last season he was known for his drops. Had that bad one that would have won his team the last spring game. Just goes to show that you shouldn’t take too much away from spring games

I think you are right about Burks and Sharp. I also think Hicks will also get a lot of run this year. Gibson and Anderson will also shine. On defense for the freshman Jayden Jackson and David Stone are going to be a force.
I believe our tight end room will be a major threat.

It will be nice to have a season opener where you don't hear the ambulances going back and forth to the stadium for heat stroke victims.
So far as tailgating areas, how about opening up the Duck Pond for tailgating?
They have the gravel parking lots right across the street where the old Parkview Apartments used to be that could be reserved for the tailgaters and the Duck Pond area set up like it was back when they had the Medieval Fair their but with tailgaters instead.
Cannot wait for that home opener!
Been saying for a while now the first month of games need to be night games for heat reasons alone

If you wanna play on ESPN 2 or plus then ok. It's too many teams that have TV slots.

My boss wouldnt let me off when i asked to go to a OU football game in advance, I gave him 2 week notice and he said NO!!! we need you.
Idk, it’s still part of hottest time of day at 6pm. I think it’s more about being on ESPN than dealing dealing with the heat.
By 6 pm. the field will be mostly in the shade as opposed in the full sun with an 11:00 or 2:30 pm. start time. That makes a huge difference.

Don't count Hawkins out yet! As much as I think JA will be a good QB, he still hasn't proven a thing yet in game situations. I assume that he knows the playbook better than Hawk at this point and has a little bit more experience, but in no way has Jackson solidified the position yet. I don't want to hear about how good he is in practice. How they perform in actual games is all that matters. I want to know who is better when the lights are on and there is 85,000 fans in the stadium.

I've said this numerous times and my position has only been reinforced, after hearing Gibson's improvements. There is absolutely no way Farooq should start ANYWHERE amongst OUr receivers. You can't put him ahead of Anderson, you can't put him ahead of Burks, and we now know for certain, Gibson's ceiling is beyond anything we've anticipated. I believe Farooq still has value and can/will play a role within OUr offense, but his role should not be at the expense of OUr more talented, more explosive playmakers getting their opportunities. I will be very disappointed in OUr coaching staff if Farooq is ahead of Gibson come this fall 🤨

A PERSON WHO ONLY PLAYS QUARTERBACK... Last time i checked since 5th grade MHJ#9 been playing QUARTERBACK... so plz let's stop with the Athlete that's incompetence of the definition of the meaning of athlete actually being a multiple player more than one position. NOT. one , a player being told he that he's not what his position say he is and been playing without playing other positions.... OUDNA4Ever
This guy calling people losers because they work on Fridays. Oklahoma is a blue-collar state. We work for a living, so not everybody can take off on Friday nights. It’s not a big deal because football’s not a big deal livelihood taking care of your family is more important than football and taking off for game on Friday night just saying.
People sure don’t have problems packing high school stadiums out all over the state every Friday night so why wouldn’t people be able to for n OU game? Plus it’s one time this year and there is plenty of a heads up so people can put in for personal/vacation time if they really want to go to the game. I’m also not sure there are that many so called “blue collar” workers attending OU games to make a difference if they couldn’t show. Games don’t start until til 7-7:30. Not too many people working that late on a Friday night. Sorry if you are but from a grand scheme of things? Not a big deal
