A take I can agree with. The consumer is getting idowngraded product. The quality has such a steep drop off from live events. People are more UFC fans than they are MMA fans so there’s a denialism about just how bad these Apex cards are.

Exactly. I haven't watched that much UFC in the last 2 years. The big question for the next 2 years, is will ESPN renew the deal with the UFC?
Every business exists to earn the maximum amount of profit. There are only two ways to increase profits. 1) Increase incoming revenue. 2) Lower costs. Satisfying the customer is secondary to those two priorities. Every single business on the planet follows this model. Capitalism is not the only viable social system in existence. There are other ways in which society and its resources can be organized. And not only are there other ways to organize society and its resources, there are better ways to do so as well.
Make the UFC public property and put the fighters in control of the promotion. After all, it's not Dana or the corporate executives that are in the cage taking brain damage for our entertainment, its the fighters. There is no MMA without the fighters, but there could be an MMA without Dana Whites.
At the very least give the fighters a union. That way they have some sort of entity with leverage over the company to negotiate for better contracts and benefits.
The problem is the fighters come under COST in the UFC system. In actuality the fighters have the PRODUCTS that the fans are buying, i.e., their PERFORMANCES

This is a great insight joey! And yeah a smaller octagon in the apex makes it easier to push people up agains the fence and have more boring fights, as well as apex cards being low quality as it is

The number of Apex cards this past year has decreased tbf (from 22 down to 17) but really, they shouldn't be doing more than 1 a month

The lack of live events also drives up ticket prices when fans can actually get them.
ALSO DANA , MANY FIGHTERS , ETC. LIVE CLOSE TO THE APEX EVEN BISBING DRIVES 2 AND A HALF HOURS AFTER THE EVENT TO GET HOME . 💯👍

OR... what if some cards are simply not worth bying a ticket but they are worth watching in TV when you are a hardcore fan? Something like Apex seems to be ideal for that.

I think they only made minor changes enough to sell merch & food & beverages
a big part of this is because tv ratings don't matter anymore. if these crap fight nights were on regular cable.....the rating would force ufc/espn to put on better events as the viewership numbers would be so bad

FACTS
apex is the reason we have so many underwhelming fight night cards. ufc could not sell arena tix for some of these crap cards...but hence they do it cheap in-house and they still get the guarnteed espn money. absolute scam.
It's 100% wrong to have Anything other than the standard arena size cage that is what every fighter prepares to fight in space can mean everything in a fight depending on your style could be an advantage or a disadvantage. And when titles and contracts are on the line with fighters families depending on the outcome UFC and Dana should have been getting sued a lot more for this in the last 3 years then anything that had to do with steroids. Some guys don't fight for a year or more to come in and get locked into a smaller cage and not be mentally or physically prepared for it this is not even a conversation or a debate to have

Honestly, there’s not enough possible “big fights” for 40 events anyways. Also doesn’t help that as fighters get bigger they become less active generally. My first UFC event was Ilia Topuria vs Josh Emmett and it was amazing but how many of those are even possible?
Well Dana could always help build fighters up to help their popularity instead of shitting on them publicly and getting the sycophants behind him.

You're right on many of your points but the good thing about the Apex is that you can still have fights with the lesser known names which keeps them fed. Without the Apex many of those fighters wont have jobs and the more fighters out there the more fighters go to gyms and train which keeps the sport alive.
of course there never not going to apex,they dont have to travel or set up ring or pay for a arena, you would have to be a simpleton if you own the ufc and not take advantage of this,ufc are money makers, obviously you are no business owner,this is common sense,that fell in the ufc lap to do this and how well it works,its stupid to question this,love the apex

If they just did less cards and every card was more stacked they wouldn’t have to do apex cards every other week
UFC has over 600 fighters in their roster in which they have to try to schedule at least 2-3 fights depending on their contracts. In these scheduled fights some fall through for xyz reasons such as illness, injuries etc. So, the UFC needs more events not less. Those events that are held at the Apex, they are there for the reason MMA Joey explained. Weather some fighters are not as exciting than others makes no difference and the UFC has to give them fights as promised therefore it makes sense to have them at the APEX to cut costs.
I’ll never complain about more fights. If it wasn’t for the apex we’d probably just have less cards throughout the year. And a most of these “terrible cards” people be whining about turn out to be awesome. The ufc has quickly became something that I don’t care who the main event or who is on the card, I’m watching! Same as football for me.

@@awfullymenacing I’m not saying that it’s quality over quantity I’m saying so many times have I seen a card that people say sucks and then the card happens and it’s awesome so I’m saying that just because the names aren’t big names doesn’t mean I’m not gonna enjoy the card. All the big names we have now at one point we’re the no names everyone complains about so I realized that and now I look forward to seeing the low tier fighters because we don’t know who is gonna turn into those too fighters that we look forward to seeing.
It ruined the ufc in so many ways. They deserve to lose their espn contract over it. I stopped watching apex events 2 years ago. It’s a waste of time for all the reasons you list and more
