In a sense, yeah! I found once I started thinking about these things as intervallic concepts rather than just a big playground of a scale, I was able to focus on more specific things that make it sound the way it does, ideas I can put anywhere on the board; whereas when I thought of these things as a scale, I was more apt to just romp around in a static scale pattern.... If that makes sense!!!
