Nice tone and good range. Your phrasing is kind of odd, though. Try singing the lyrics in your head as you play. That will help with both your phrasing and your vibrato. Listen to good singers and internalize how they support their air flow throughout the phrase. Good range, but try to keep a “warm air” concept as you go up, like you’re fogging a mirror. You’re well on your way to having a great sound. Just keep your fundamentals in mind. Listen to great ballad players to get a better grasp of vibrato. Keep on playing!

Listen to high ballad trombone masters like Bill Watrous or Dave Steinmeyer for an idea of phrasing and vibrato. The vibrato should only be used on the last half or even the last third of a held note. Listen to Steinmeyer’s unbelievable use of the extreme upper register. It’s still warm air and a full tone. Listening is the greatest teacher.
