I love this batbox im going to buy it midnight tonight, i also love Davids collection and his passion like us all for these bricks.
But in this paid promotion / review you can literally read between the lines so easily that the reviewer is trying very very hard to stray away from all the negative points or even justifying legos poorer decisions.

Same here. That’s the Batcave I would of preferred for this price. And they could of thrown in a whole gallery of villains.
I wish they made sets based on the movie Mask Of The Phantasm
This set would've blown my mind even more as a kid than it does now. It's breathtaking and I bet every kid will want this from the toy store catalogues
And their parents will have to explain to kids why they can't afford it. The price is messed up.
Its 18+ so its clearly targeted mostly for adults, specially their money ;)
@@movieman75649while that’s true, the price is still ridiculously high. The daily bugle set sold for 100 dollars less, 25+ mini figures, and only a couple hundred less pieces. Even for adults, 400 + tax is crazy for this set.

I absolutely adore display pieces that open up into detailed playsets. Fantastic.
Absolutely love the sandbox concept. I know it's not for everyone but it's a innovative take on a set by Lego. They probably should have included pieces to cover up that bat-shaped hole so that those who want a dust-free, enclosed box could have it. Price is way too high even for a licensed set, so I'd say this is probably similar to a UCS set: buy it if you love the IP, otherwise don't bother.

Why would they include pieces to cover it up? Then it would literally be a black box, if you don't want to get dust on it just store it away at that point?
Absolutely love this set even as someone who isn't obsessed with batman. Just the details and mechanics, it feels like they got everything right in my eyes.
The concept of this set is Insane. I would like to see more themes explored that way. Like star wars or Castle sets. Insane features. Or even LOTR.

I bought this set the day it was released directly from lego. Even used VIP discount to knock the price down a little. I am a fan of the '89 and '92 Burton Batman films as they were right when I was a kid getting into superheroes. I thoroughly enjoyed the building of this set and I endorse Lego to make more shadow box sets, either more from the DC theme or others, as long as they all have really interesting features and fun playability. Because of this set I have gone back to purchase the (now retired) 1989 Batwing set from an ebay seller. Building Lego sets themed around my fandoms just brings me joy. Subscribed today, and really look forward to future videos from yourself and new sets from Lego.
I grew up on Burton's Batman (and Schumacher's), I went out and bought this as soon as I found out about it.
It really is a breathtaking set, the care and detail is astonishing, and my only real complaint is the stickers.
Not only a fanstastic set, but one of the best memorabilia and display pieces available for Burton's Batman.
Anyways very cool looking set with great functions. $400 does seem steep for very avg figures, and all details being only stickers.
Imagine the Lego LoTR Moria set based on the same concept. That would be something!🤯🤯

This is a really great-looking set, but it's honestly embarassing at this point that Lego can't spend a few extra cents to get custom-printed parts instead of stickers in a $400 set

@@h2owl205 The issue isn't laziness, it's that stickers often both look worse and won't last as long as printed components. If I'm paying $400+ for a display piece, I want it to look as good as possible without worrying about stickers peeling or fading over time.
@@henrirobbins2343 this narrative of “stickers don’t last long” needs to be stopped. I’ve been building Lego sets for the better part of 18 years now, and still have sets built and on display for about 15 years. Not once have I ever had a sticker wear away or peel off on its own. Based on my experience and hearing others complain, I’m left to assume the people experiencing issues with sticker longevity comes down to user error. Either y’all are leaving entire edges hanging off of parts or don’t know how to apply a sticker without getting a ton of hair/dust/crumbs/air bubbles stuck underneath.
Additionally, prints have a tendency to not be opaque enough, especially on darker colored parts or even extremely scratched up.
Imo, stickers do not lessen the value of premium product feeling of sets at all. Y’all just love being over dramatic about everything. Besides, there are very rational reasons as to why Lego doesn’t print all their decorations. Look them up. Just because you might not agree with their reasons doesn’t mean their invalid either.

Please tell me more about how lego is completely incapable of matching the plastic color when printing on windshields. Or how they cannot print lighter colors onto darker colored pieces without it looking extremely faded. I never claimed stickers were perfect, but the amount of grown ass adults that get their panties in a twist over some adhesive paper makes being a fan of this hobby quite frankly embarrassing. And please, miss me with that “well if I’m paying ‘x’ amount of money then…” argument because it’s a total straw man argument because you’d be saying the exact same thing if you got all prints and they were all low quality.
I was skeptical at first when it was released, but now I can say I'm impressed.
It's a beautiful set! It truly has the 90's feeling to it by design. I think the extra features are really cool.
The thing i like about legos is that if you look at them as finite modular building pieces and the fun and challenge with them is to see what you can do/build with them. Which is the original intent of legos; being creative with them.
Finest example of this approach is the typewriter, very elegant and realistic looking.
I am tired of how these people get all these sets for free...

When the set was released I watched so many videos but it was one of those sets which I knew I had to first see in person before buying. I saw it on display at the Lego Store and was instantly sold. It’s a lot bigger than I thought, and I love the characters, even if they don’t fit into the set well. Bruce and Alfred look astonishing. Big fan of Batman and really enjoy Batman Returns. Definitely going to cop it when I can.
An excellent looking set. Definitely, one I'll have to pick up. A Superman "Shadow Box" would be very cool to put alongside it, especially in terms of a contrast between the Bat Cave and Fortress of Solitude. Great video and thanks for showing!

Before it’s official drop, this completed set was sitting on the register counter at the lego store. I fell in love with this set the minute I set my eyes on it. This set is SWEET!!! This is a must have!

Max Shreck mini figure totally looks like Doc Brown from Back to the Future.
The guy who came up with the small batmobile deserve a raise, I own the big one and this one look amazingly accurate. I don't know if the set will be available for long, I hope I will be able to get it later
Man that flame at the back of the batmobile rotating is cool as hell!
Just finished building it and IMHO, one of the finest Batman sets they’ve ever made. There is something very special about it, from concept to execution. I’m not a super Batman fan but would recommend it to anyone/everyone. I hope LEGO makes more unique stuff like this.

Wish they would of thrown in figures, references to the 89 film as well. Then this would of been a must get. Like a Knox, Gordon, Harvey Dent, and Eckhart figure.

I saw this movie in the theater as a kid. It was amazing! I really want this set. Definitely nice
I think this needed more gray pieces on the interior because the Batman outline is hard to see with the darkness of the box while closed, but the saving grace is that this can open up into an almost straight line to be displayed, which allows light to enter and show off the design. I didn’t like how the LEGO had it halfway opened in the box art, because I thought it would be only displayable open halfway. (10:53 vs 1:28)
I was really confused by the box art as well. It's nice to know that it can fold and open.

Fantastic review, really enjoyed watching it! I started collecting Lego as an adult collector a couple of years ago & have chosen to stick exclusively to Star Wars as I can't really afford to buy into a load of different themes as it would get crazy however if I were to deviate I'd definitely consider this set, it looks great!

I’ve just got this set after seeing your review can’t wait to build it looks awsome.
When the box is enclosed, you can't see the Batman logo silhouette well. The background is to dark. I don't know if this is a camera thing or if this is also so in real life. but if it is, I think this set is a failure. The whole idea of the set hinges on how it looks from the outside, and that doesn't seem to work.
If I wanted LEGO convention creations I'd go to one, lol. I'm glad you like it though. I'll only like it when it goes on clearance. Platforms with stairs would have been amazing. They did Ewok Village and at this price point they had so much to work with and give us a box. I watched '89 Batman again and I never saw ladders in the Batcave and Alfred sure wasn't going up and down any either.

Looks like the Batmobile in this set is basically the same one as the upcoming 76224 Batmobile: Batman vs. The Joker Chase model. Some very slightly different details?

I think this looks awesome. And I like it does not scream batmanlogo. When you go closer and you see omg it’s a bat logo and a bat cave!
No idea what to think about it (apart from expensive which is a given) - there is something I like about it but it honestly looks like it needs lighting. Wish you had added some, I think that would actually make a lot of difference to this set.
Using Batman Returns actually makes alot of sense since the Flashpoint Movie is being released soon which is the first time (in a long time) Keaton has reprised his role as Batman, at least I'm pretty sure he hasn't really done it before this movie.

Fans of the films are delighted. Tim Burton made great Batman stories with great artwork. The set doesn't realy gets up to speed, but the minifigs are great.

Great review! The only thing that threw me off was you said the dust is going to get through the gates on top but there is a huge Batman cut out hole on the front 🤣 love the set though!!

this is an awesome set. we need this design layout for some star wars sets in the future. maybe the geonosian factory or the jedi council, just some ideas
seeing it in not promotion images makes it look alot better. I think it would be kinda cool if they did this for othere themes. like having one for the deathstar or somthing would be really cool if they did it right

Why do people like the fact, that minifigs are exclusive to a 400$ set? I don't get that. Some people can't afford such an expensive set but might still want to collect minifigs. For the consumer it legit has 0 advantage to have minifigs bound to an expensive set, yet most people seem to like it. Legos marketing Team are literal geniuses.

I'm sold. Now they just need to do this with each of the main franchises (Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Nolan trilogy, The Batman, BTAS, TNBA, Batfleck).
I agree with you about it maybe being based BTAS or the Nolan trilogy would've been a better choice but as a fan of the Tim Burton Batman films, this is pretty cool. Really don't get the hate towards it. We don't get Batcaves very often and most of the previous ones haven't been great, apart from the 2006 one, that's a classic!

The sandbox design is an ingenious space saving idea for such a large set and is more practical to fit away for those w/o a giant home to store Lego sets in 🧱
