It’s amazing when you think that these markers represent people and their life stories and that you saying their names maybe the only time it has been spoken aloud since they passed
I really did enjoy that trip with you to the cemetery, and hearing so many of their histories and stories. Rest in peace all who are entered there. You are not forgotten.
One of my favorite episodes. My coal mining family is from McDowell Co, WV. Back about 1915, my grandfather was considering moving to where this episode is located. He moved over alone and worked about a week. He wouldn't move his family there because of the wild living and violence.
The Potters’ graves with roofs are called grave houses. This is a tradition brought over from the old world. It is also tradition of some Native American tribes.
Love cemetery walks. Found a headstone that had these words inscribed on the back, “thanks for stopping by”. I smile every time I think about that. It was a married couple’s grave. Must have been nice people.
How sweet
The loss of children is overwhelming- the eulogies are just so touching…🥰🙏🏼💕
That is a very unusual cemetery with the little buildings over the grave sites. You see that quite a bit up here in northern Michigan and Wisconsin what is normally native graveyards and they call them Spirit houses.
Your videos are just getting better and better, Heather's research is awesome and Leo Your story telling is fantastic. This is my favorite channel on you tube Thank you both!
Thanks 😊
Jay Morgan I agree!
Beautiful scenery. R.I.P. to all in grave yard very interesting stories love how you do them and put ages all info on them just awesome. God bless ty for stories
Your videos keep getting better and better. I enjoyed walking through the cemetery with y'all. Very interesting story.
Interesting thanks for sharing. William Potter was a great grand uncle of mine. His father you showed on his death certificate was my 4 great grandad. Love your stories and the extensive time and research you put into your stories.
@@ericpotter4657 Thank for the information I will do just that. Have a blessed day as well.
When Leo is reading the dates for Willard and Mary Mullins and seems astonished that they both died the same day, as he obviously doesn't know why they did...(but I take it that it's Heather that is narrating the deceased's stories across the screen as Leo is talking about the headstones), I got so tickled because everyone but poor Leo knows why they died the same day( at that particular time anyway) but we all know that Leo will find out eventually!😂😂
Thank you for the story and taking us to the gravesites. So sad to see so many children and babies - makes one wonder. And yes, you both surely need a camper or in the very least a converted van if you're traveling around as much as you two do.
I so appreciate how you not only tell stories, but show pictures of people when you can. As well as pertinent information I always wonder about. 😊
I absolutely love when you all do these kind of videos. We all walked the earth, had life and dreams. I graduated Williamson High School in 1983. I went my junior and senior year. I lived there several years but now I'm in Ga. My Best Friend was Tonya Ball. Her Dad's name was Early Ball. My Mom her Husband(Billy Lampkin (YOGI)and my older son still live in HUddy, Ky. I was home last December . I seen the Williamson Video loved that too my old stomping grounds... Boyeee has it changed in the way of businesses and people .
Thanks so much!
As of 2013,this cemetery was referred to as Bob May Potter Cemetery as can be seen on the obituary document posted on the memorial of Freddie M. Baker.
Isaac Belcher the one you mentioned married to Elizabeth who died under mysterious circumstances. was a confederate veteran also my 3rd great grandfather. You practically showed a family line of mine. Lina Wheatly and Lucy Mullins were both my Great Aunts of mine.
Y'all having a wonderful 😊 time and doing two things y'all enjoy.. being together and wonderful history stories.. beautiful site
I love seeing those old pictures and I really appreciate the research you do. Y'all are awesome. It's fascinating to learn a little about their lives and how they passed. Thank you!
Great job on this one guys!! Beautiful scenery! God Is so good giving us all these great landscapes, thanks for sharing!!
Thank ya'll for another great video.
You never stop to think of the lives, the stories of those folks when visiting a cemetery, until you hear the stories. These stories on these folks are known because of ya'lls research and bringing these people to life, if only for a moment.
Thank you guys so much for what ya'll do.
God bless ya'll and ya'll stay safe on your travels.
Heather, im glad you could get in a cemetery without it raining. Seems like the last several videos iit was raining, beginning to think you were cursed. LOL. God bless ya'll.
48 Minutes of both your beautiful countryside and thoroughly researched histories of people gone by. Couldn't ask for more except to get you good people a camper. Thanks for sharing another great video. Keep them coming. Subs going up = Yay.
I love that you tell their story. I'm mostly blind. Thanks
Ducks can't still be hungry will my thought exactly when I seen my Roland eat 18 mice in less then a half hour her crop was so heavy she could hardly walk ! Love watching mother nature! Love your videos!
This cemetery has to have some haunting going on.
Thank You for sharing Leo & Heather. Stay Blessed
Please tell me for your safety you are covered. Great video.
Watching from Queensland Australia , I like old history like this 👌
This was very moving. Thank you for the research, pictures, death certificates, and stories. I appreciate you reading the sayings on the headstones.
Heartbreaking to see so many young children.
And as you said the 1892 massacre did not benefit anyone, and yes, they are people, not just names on paper.
The blessing is to know that many of these people are rejoicing in Heaven to have no more sorrow, sickness, death, or tears, forever with Jesus and their loved ones.
Murdered man cemetery? I would say that it lives up to its name! 😮
Beautiful country, I am glad you two had a good time camping 🏕
The cemeteries were very interesting, as were the stories about some of the people buried in them. The children graves, were very sad, thank God for the advances in modern medicine that we have today. Thank you very much, Leo and Heather, for another outstanding video. Thank you Heather, for all the time you spend doing research. Take care
Yes I sure hope you get a camper sponsorship,a small pop up camper and heater would be great 👍
Sometimes I'm not sure what to say because I'm speechless !!!! I want to tell everyone to share your channel so everyone sees how wonderful your channel is...million worthy !!!
Thank you so much
Ohhhh, my adopted mom’s family was Huffman and I believe they came from W Virginia and settled in Kansas and Oklahoma. I love looking thru all the graves. Love doing that. My ears perked up when you said Huffman.
Wow, another tear jerker! I cried again! 😢
Truly stands up to it's name. Thank you again for the interesting stories.
I just love yall! Especially when you work together. I feel like I would love to have you as neighbors!

Ducks so soothing to watch
Thank you both for sharing and prayers for these souls! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Great video! Love the history.. Ty for all your time and hard work for all the facts.
A beautiful cemetery...I didn't comment on your mulegham(sic) message cause I couldnt find it, but me, my kids are descendants of the line, we have Native American, Spanish/Latino, Russian and Irish I didnt know if you were still wanting to do that so much has been done about if you can find any new material
Yes I am watching it.. it is very very.. good.. some people are young 😢 very interesting
I enjoyed y’all’s videos so much, you both put so much work into you’re videos…it shows❤❤
James Bates TEC 4 WWII service (near the end of video) was especially interesting as a Veteran's monument. This is a pay grade similiar to Sergeant and could be guard duty, etc.
Thank you, Leo, for giving special attention to Veterans!!❤
Thanks for going back through history
Dear leo i love what you and youre wife are doingim from Southern Somerset county pa keep up the good stuff
I am named after my uncle. His name was Everett and died at the age of 13 of TB in 1939. My aunt says she remembers being a little younger trying to play. He would tell her to leave the room because he was dying! He died like a man.
Y'all are awesome.!! I love going to on these trips with you! I really like cemeteries and especially the one with deep History
It’s sweet when you and Heather are together but i guess she’s got things to do. SO Thanks again, but boy I hated seeing that big ole catfish getting thrown back!!!GN to all!
Very nice camping area. Some interesting history...
I have same exact Kuerig! Love it!
I believe "S1" on a US Navy (WW2) veteran's tombstone signifies he was a "Seaman 1st Class".
I’m from the country, but I would never live outside in a tent. All kind of night noises. There would not be any sleep for me.
Somehow I missed this wonderful video guys. Some Kentuckians believe that Jenkins is the end of the earth for some reason. I believe right across the border is Grundy, VA, a coal mining town. Whitesville, a city in Leitcher County is a very pretty part of Kentucky. Several years ago, I conducted several workshops with the teachers in the County. Heather, I must say that I truly love the research that you do for the videos. You do some "real digging" to find out information. Interesting cemetery!!! Thank you for this awesome adventure. I was curious to know if you are aware of a couple out of Charleston that have a CZcams channel now and are visiting all of the waterfalls in the state? They are interesting.
Wow, I just found your channel and I love the graveyard videos! I love the history you tell us about all the people.
Welcome aboard!
Thank you and appreciate all the work yall do👩🌾🤗I really enjoy yalls channel
I love the stories and pictures. I was wondering how you are able to look at these peoples death certificates and find their stories. I love going to cemeteries and knowing at least some of the old stories would make it much more interesting. I live in Colorado.
I really like the background music y’all play.
Thanks 😊
Looks like a great time love all your video's. 💙💜
Letcher & Pike Co were rough & tough areas back in the day. So were Logan & Mingo Co WVa. So many family names pop up on your searches. Thank you for what you do. My roots are in Tazewell, Buchanan Co Va
Love the picture on the stones
That was a good one. Love all the research you do.
A S1 in the U.S.A Navy is a Seaman First Class. Or, Corporal. The death certificate for Eva Georgia Roberts,, that you were unable to read, said, "pregnancy 6 1/2 months." So sad, her child died and was buried with her.
Thank you guys😍I really enjoyed that episode, lots of interesting life stories, may they all RIP,thanks for all your hard work 😘🥰
Truly another great video🤗
Love hearing that "hey everybody" great video guys. I wonder if those Whitakers are related to the odd w.v Whitakers?
Awesome show
I just came across this video. On the headstone of Kernie Stewart, who was in the Navy during WWII, it signifies "S1"; Leo stated he was not sure what that meant. My dad was also an "S1"in the Navy in WWII and I believe that meant his rank at the time he was discharged was Seaman First Class.
Thank you
Great job guys ! Love it !
The grave of Delana Elizabeth Killen, maiden name Bentley, is a relative of mine. She was married to Morgan Killen 1858-1925 who was son of Alf Killen & Lucy Whitaker Killen. Alf has a Civil War reputation. Morgan Killen died in 1925 after being shot by his own son, who later was pardoned by the Governor. Many memories.
Interesting thanks
thank you for what you are doing .sil use to talk about the potters i didn't know them.
This another Great Video thanks for making it
You guys are the best love your videos

Thank you for this great video. I hope to visit this cemetery next year if I am able to go to the Potter reunion at the breaks
Sorry I cut off my comment by accident. I believe the Willam Potter you showed is a 2 great uncle of mine. Will have to do more research on how the other Potter’s are related to me. Love the pictures and research you did. Looking forward to more of your videos. Keep up the great job and you all have a blessed day.
Love your story telling and your accents❤❤❤
Hey y'all!! Great video. Thanks.
Thanks 😊
Incredible amazing cemetery 🪦🪦 great video
Ty for your videos
Great video, you keep getting better, I want to know how you got all that camping gear in the mustang?
pretty Heather..you both are great narators
Thank you
It's so sad but to live back then was to assume you would probably lose at least one child 😢😢
My great grandparents have five baby graves in a line beside their graves.
Llafeyette Bentley was my husbands ggg grandfather I believe I mention that in the first video you done .his full name was Alexander Lafayette Bentley .I have been to this cemetery once
On ships S1 is responsible for ordering the supplies needed by other departments. S2 is food service. S3 is the Ship's Store, laundry and barbershop. S4 is disbursing.Sep 7, 2018
What is S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 and S6 in regards to the U.S. Navy?
Wonder if I'm related to those Mullins. My Mom was a Mullins, from Paynesville, WV. They weren't far from KY and VA. 🤔
My great grandmother lived in Letcher county
Very tragic back then
You need a Television Show.

Really enjoyed the outing
Get in the same sleeping bag 🎒 be safe .
Hello Leo and Heather
Thanks
Appears to be more babies and children here than adults who met death in unexpected or forced situations outside of natural causes...😢
S1 means he's was a corporal in the war
