In the end Metal Gear Solid is a great series which was ahead of its time in many points. I'm a big fan of the series and am happy to explain some things if you wish.

The funny thing? After playing about 90% of the games he's reviewed, I can indeed say that his reviews are inaccurate, if only on the strict details; the overarching story and themes though? THOSE are surprisingly accurate, and adds an extra layer to every Max0r review, it's truly impressive to be honest.
It still baffles me how Konami treated Kojima considering how much he did for them.
Everything Kojima did made them as much money as pachinko gambling makes in a year. That is a harsh truth.

I'm like a week late to this, but the reason the soldiers hold their guns sideways in the hospital is because that's the only way to get a sight picture with those gas masks on. At least in the 80's.
There were stocks made for SMG's after the time the game takes place that didn't have that issue, so you could have the gun pulled into your shoulder normally without your mask getting in the way, but it's a pretty obscure detail that shows how much of a gun nerd Kojima and his team could be.
1:53 SNAAAAAAAAKE IT'S NOT OVER YET
The biggest twist of MGS5 is how much of an asshole Big Boss was after the ending of 3 and Peace Walker.
He makes his body double (the medic) pretend to be him and then sends his son (Solid Snake) to kill the fake Big Boss in the OG MGS, but it becomes pointless because he effectively doxxes himself and winds up getting hunted by his son.
Then Metal Gear Survive exists and we don't talk about that wretched abomination.
And now we are getting a 3 remake and a collection of the series if the first part sells well.
btw, the kid punching bag is actually Liquid Snake, and the red head psychic was Psycho Mantis.

The Man On Fire is Volgin from MGS3, whom Mantis was psychically drawn to due to being literally too angry to die. Then he discovered Liquid was even angrier.

Everything in the Metal Gear canon that's wacky is explained as either DNA mutations or nanomachines. I'm pretty sure the zombies are just nanomachine puppets of some sort, and Metal Gear Survive technically takes place in an alternate reality earth where the planet was overrun with nanomachines. The weird part is that the supernatural absolutely exists in Metal Gear and we directly encounter both ghosts and psychics a few times, but it's not used as an explanation for anything and is largely glossed over. Tldr, if it's weird it's nanomachines or genetic engineering. The zombies are nanomachines. I think. Don't quote me.

Meanwhile nowadays Konami is selling Metal Gear remakes and merchandise to make money off what little legacy it still has like they're Atari, because they finally realized that, as it turns out, firing the one guy that was literally making them billions of dollars so that their company can switch to gambling was a bad move.
MGS V TPP was the first game in the series that I actually played and I HIGHLY recommend it. Excellent gameplay with an engaging story.

MGS has some of the fucking nuttiest main character ever, there was big boss who’s like the original protag and the one who’s missing an eye, then in this game there’s venom snake who (spoilers) thinks he’s big boss because he was brainwashed and given reconstructive surgery so he would think he’s big boss while the actual big boss was running around doing some shady shit, also the dude in the bandages at the beginning is the real big boss, he’s kinda an asshole tbh, then there’s solid snake who’s the one everyone knows most who was a clone of big boss and killed him approximately 47 million times before the original big boss just kinda decides his job is over and dies, it’s fuckin weird, ocelot is even worse and I don’t wanna tank the brain damage trying to explain that idiot would inflict, this is why I prefer metal gear rise, you follow one dude who knows who he is (mostly) and happens to be a cyborg ninja, by far the best game of the series, the rest of em make my frikin head hurt
yeah fr mgs 1-4 are the actual story and is a perfect trilogy + prequel, the only thing mgsV contributes to the main story is it clears up a 30y+ plot hole in the series (the existence of big boss' body double) otherwise it uhhhhhh sure exists
if youre looking for other metal gear videos to react to i highly suggest metal gear solid 1 expleened..... a super long video by intere=net historian describing/incorrect summarizing metal gear solid 1
there's a good game somewhere in there, maybe several, could make possibly multiple games outta what's in this, but as is it's such a mess, and is IMO at least, more like a roughly stitched together series of demos. some of which are more similar to each other than others are, but hey, i guess that's what happens when shit like what happened with this game goes down. sad. unfortunate.
