Correct Sir Carlo. To share, 2 funko pops saved me this pandemic. I sold a Dwyane Wade funko pop (bought 2013 at retail but I was able to sell it for a very good price) and an SDCC 2013 Predator funko pop (good price as well) this year. Tip - Let’s enjoy the hobby and we may never know, there will come a time the hobby will actually aid us in difficult times.
I agree, funko pops are really hard to move imo. I sold most of my pops and started collecting nba cards, I only kept pops that are close to heart. Nba cards are more liquid and will continue to be.
1 have 100+ funko pops. Most Pokémon and my hero academia. And i don't plan to sell it because it's my collection and i don't consider them as investment. 👌
I was able to sell off some Funko pops I got 8 years ago (mga OG single digit numbered Marvel ones). Pag collection talaga bonus na yun maging investment since you really won't get the return anyway unless you sell it

Funko pops as massively produced and sold everywhere, not to mention may mga fake ones, hobby shops are never short of these pops and some have dedicated shops for these lines alone. Funko is a big company hindi lang sila ventured sa pops, they have shirt lines, stationaries/bags, and now pins, so expecting them to stay for a long haul. Money would be on the region specific pops, limited numbered, event specific, store exclusive (with original sticker, not "special edition"), and vaulted ones.

I personally believe that Funko has reached its peak. If you bought Funkos during the years of 2012 - 2016, and sold them when Funko was at its peak (around 2018 - 2019), then that in my opinion, would already have been a super good investment as the “OG” Funkos shot up in value when interest in Funko’s started to rise. During this time, new members in Funko facebook groups doubled (or even tripled).However, because of this increase of demand and interest, Funko started releasing more variants & non-Pop items (shirts, bags, cereals, keychains,etc.), re-releasing Funko Pops that have already been released before, and generally overmanufacturing which really oversupplied the market. Even worse, the Covid-19 pandemic struck which made the people’s budget for “hobbies/toys” greatly decrease as more funds were needed for daily necessities. Lastly, tons of scammers have emerged during this time, taking advantage of collectors and flippers alike by posting too-good-to-be-true prices and grabbing pics online or from other sellers. In the end, all these factors point to a forseeable decline in Funko Pops if not now, then in the near future.
My friend bumili 50k worth of funko pops yun iba dun galing pa US. During this pandemic he tried to sell his funko pops parang 50-100 pesos lang kinita niya.
Its worth investing if you're able to buy the exclusive ones and iconic classic characters. Or maybe in special cases if got an ordinary funko pop signed by its certain artist. Maybe ex: ironman funko pop signed by RDJ. Those may rise in value. But if you just want to play it, display in a desk, and enjoy it. It is still a good buy.
To me funkos arent really an investment, sure you can sell them but i just really want them because it shows how far i have come when i was like 13 when i first started and i only had like around 5 or 6 now im 19 with a job,im about to go to college and i have around like hundreds, so for me collecting funkos is not just an investment but also a hobbie you enjoy

I Agree, sobrang dami ng release ni Funko ngayon. Tapos ang mahal ng mga pre orders. Ang hirap din kumuha. I am a flipper ng funko for a year. I buy and unbox them at yt. Di nagtagal naging medyo mini supplier ako. Ending nag quit ako kasi ang daming mga joy dibbers and ang daming barat these days. Like commons. Dati you can sell at 650 srp. Now its only selling from 400 to 500 so lugi na agad. Medyo toxic na din ang funko selling community ngayon. I sold all my funko and focused on stocks. But selling funko thaught me many things about business.

Quick Google question: If you say the card is 1/10. Does it mean it is 1 out of 10 of that particular type of card or is it 1 of 10 of that player?
For Panini, it's usually 1 of 10 cards of that player.
