    Jesus was rejected in his own hometown and by his own kin, because they could not accept that the son of a carpenter could have such knowledge and power to heal. They were blinded by their disbelief and prejudices, and so Jesus could not perform many miracles in Nazareth. We too, are so often blinded by our prejudices, and lack of faith. May the Lord help us to have an open heart and an open mind, to have an unshakable faith in Him and his Word.Thank you Fr Warner and may God bless you🙏🙏💕💕

    The people of Nazareth find Jesus too ordinary. Jesus is the Healer of sickness. But the people of Nazareth could not see, what their eyes saw is just an ordinary man. They had a right to expect wisdom and power in the Messiah and He was just a man, fully man like them. What is needed is faith, a faith that sees deeper than the eyes. Thank you Fr. Warner for today's reflection. Prayers for you and parents. AMEN!

    We see in today's gospel Jesus is rejected in His home town by His own people, so He was amazed at their lack of faith, so He could not work many miracles there.We should not be prejudiced against our own people but be open to them.Thanks,Fr for your teaching.God bless and heal you.

    Thank you Father on enlightening us with the reading of the day. Yes it is so true Father that people find it difficult to believe and appreciate the good a person does, as they are more concerned about his background. Why should it happen that way? Why should this good person be put down only because he may have come from humble beginnings?

    Dear Fr Warner, in this gospel we see the rejection of Jesus in His own hometown of Nazareth. The people in the Synagogue are astonished that a mere carpenter's son speaks with such wisdom - a gift only reserved for the learned. He is regarded as insignificant & remarks are even passed about His illegitimacy. Jesus is amazed at their disbelief & could not perform great miracles, yet He still heals & cures the sick. Your last line leaves us with a big question mark in our minds. Is our disbelief driving Jesus away from His sanctuary? We pray to have faith & believe. Thank you Fr for explaining this text so well. God bless & heal you. 🙏 💕

      Jesus is not new to opposition, from his family and from his own Jewish people.The question, "Who do you think you are?" speaks of the dismal rejection. Jesus teaches in the Synagogue for the last time.
      We need to focus attention on the fact that Jesus is Our Saviour and Our Redeemer.
      Thank you Fr.Warner for the spiritually uplifting reflection. May the Holy Spirit continue to inspire and guide you Fr.Warner.God bless you and protect you always. 🙏

    Thank you Father Warner. But then what exactly did Jesus mean by that line then?

  • @mariadsouza9272
    @mariadsouza9272 Před rokem

    And he could do no deed of power there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and cured them. And he was amazed at their unbelief.
    It says here that Jesus was not able to do wonders there because of their unbelief. Doesn't it mean because of their lack of faith? So we must have faith in Jesus to expect healing, isn't it? I am a bit confused.
