Pretty incredible to think that some of these rifles that arose immediately or soon after WWII have remained fundamentally unchanged through to the present day. It's a testmanet to the original design that we still have in service weapons like the H&K G3 family, the FN FAL, the Armalite/Colt AR-15, the Kalashnikov AKM family, and all the branches of the Armalite AR-18 tree! I'd be more than happy to take an M16A1 with the original 4X20 optic on day patrol in areas of relatively low intensity. While modern variants are obviously very effective fighting rifles, there is still a lot to be said for the practical efficiency of a simple rifle with clean lines and basic controls. What a beauty! I want to take her home and laugh at classic fudd lore videos until until 2200 where we both retire for the evening before a fun and relaxing day of finding out what her preferred loads are.
Wowsa!! Cant wait to get mine!! Already picked out the green, yellow, and brown spray-paint! Along with file-set. That's after total rework of upper( hammer, trigger, bcg, etc) New grips, and drill 3rows in hand-guard, and it'll look good as new!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
She's a beauty! Maybe it's the lighting but the upper looks a few shades darker, not by a big margin but I could definitely notice. You can always disassemble it and refinish the upper and lower to get it exact. Congratulations on a great rifle.
During the Vietnam war these rifles were not in pristine condition, they had to be produced and shipped out fast, you would find variations in all the rifles. The most important thing was for them to function when needed.
Beautiful clone m16a1 man .. I got 2 m16a1 built too 1 is colt upper stamp CK with essential arms preban lower and the 2nd one was a colt upper stamp CH with a mckay enterprise lower and the 3rds one I got is a colt sp1 .
Man I remember meeting some Seabees in Iraq that had these. I hope Palmetto puts more of them out

I also built one on a colt upper , same furniture and HR lower . It was my boot camp rifle . so glad I built it . Yours looks like its twin lol.

I really want one but I really need a good lpvo for my main rifle. But I might just say heck with it and buy an m16a1 from psa.
I was finally able to snag a Nodak upper and an H&R lower. Gonna get barrel and furniture set within the next month.

I see you used a 604 upper like it did too. I know it's not "correct" but since HR won't sell stripped 604 lower I just built a 601 ish like yours

Most of the parts are from Colt on this. Not sure how that stacks up against BCM or M&P?
