      Dude I just started playing for the first time a couple weeks ago, this game was a bit hard to get into starting out in terrace but as it progressed I'm glad I stuck with it. I think I'll want to start another file when I beat the game and do another build, understanding more of the stats and what they do, and how I want to play.

      bro if you want I have a modded version of the game which feels like a remaster! spent about 100 hours modding it. A lot of new HD textures, movie sounds (like blasters force attacks etc), with a way higher difficulty combat wise (blasters will tear you to shred if you dont use deflect or energy shields), new amazing force corruptions for dark side jedi, couple of missing feats from kotor 1, Hd movie scenes, new lightsaber blades and all the tslrcm stuff with the new planet and all etc... hit me up if you want the google drive link!

    My view is that the focus of the Sentinel is to avoid being hit and fight long battles without dying (like Obi-Wan Kenobi), while the focus of the Guardian and Consular is to deal damage (in their different ways), like Anakin/Vader and Yoda/Sidious.
    So I like a Dexterity based Sentinel with a single lightsaber and Master Duelling.
    I also made a Strength based armour wearing Sentinel, for a high Armour Class that doesn’t require Force Speed or Force Valor to maintain - leaving more Force Points available for offensive force attacks on the enemy. This character used only force powers that weren’t restricted by armour, like Throw Lightsaber, Heal, Destroy Droid, Improved Energy Resistance, Force Wave, and Kill.

  • @lemonlord0132

    My preferred play through of kotor 2 is a blaster pistol character as strange as that sounds. I build the exile as someone who after their exile, decides never to wield a light saber again. As most sentinels, I choose that class for their skill points, being I make my character able to fight but would rather act like a scoundrel but also with repair skill and computer use. Focusing on dexterity, charisma, and intelligence. I'll use the Mandalorian Disintegrator and I modify it. I feel it adds challenge to the game, but I can build a mean blaster user.

    Just finished up my playthrough as male sentinel/jedi watchman. Out of all the playthroughs I've made (mostly gaurdian or consulars), it was by far my favorite. So much fun as far as roleplaying, keeping your items upgraded from having high skills, and really just so well rounded that you get best out of melee combat and force powers. Thanks so much for the inspiration and good vids!!

    14 in Wis and 14 in charisma was working alot for my current playthrough.
    I havent read the force powers until then but since both stats modifiers are counted for a bunch of force powers effectiveness, it makes a +4 total from the go and you dont use 2 points or more per stat (like if you just raise wis to 16 or more).

      I had a blast playing as a sentinel/watchman, I agree, great class!

  • @marklee1194
    @marklee1194 Před 2 lety +4

    Usually, I play as a Sentinel/Watchman. In my many years of playing this game, I found the combat not very difficult, but not too easy, so I want to set up my character to be very powerful, but I want to exercise strategy when faced in a tough scenario. For that reason, I never used the Jedi Armor Robes (Zeison Sha or Jal Shey series) except possibly when playing on Difficult (Hard). Even then, the game is not very challenging in which those are must-haves.
    CHARACTER BUILD (ATTRIBUTES):
    Strength (STR): 12
    Dexterity (DEX): 14
    Constitution (CON): 12
    Intellgence (INT): 14
    Wisdom (WIS): 14
    Charisma (CHA): 12
    The only time I have STR at 10 is if I was playing as a Consular. I want Sentinels to have the ability to adequately engage the enemy in close combat, but not be overpowered which is where Guardians excel at (in that case, I would set STR to 14 and DEX to 12).
    Starting out, I never level up any attribute beyond 14 as I think it would be a waste of points which could be better spent on developing a more well-rounded character with a solid foundation to build upon later. Similarly, I never leave any attribute below 10 so that my character won't feel inadequate in any way.
    Sometimes, I would set CON to 14 if I was adopting a more combat-oriented playstyle. Also, I used to have WIS at 12 and CHA set to 14 (or sometimes both at 14), but having played KOTOR II many times, I was able to successfully persuade almost everyone with CHA initially set at 12. As far as I can remember, it actually made no difference save for one or two occasions I can't remember.
    SKILLS:
    I only max out Persuade (because only the main character can level up this skill) and Security (for picking locks). Everything else, it depends on my playthrough. Computer Use, Demolitions, Repair and Treat Injury I found useful, though not critical. I did save a few skill points for Level 2 for Demolitions (with the Class-Skill Demolitions feat unlocked).
    FEATS:
    The first two feats I unlock are Class-Skill Demolitions and Class-Skill Repair; Demolitions first since you encounter mines on Peragus and I want to be able to gain some XP for recovering mines. It also helps for breaking them down either at a Workbench for components or at a Lab Station for some medpacks and stimulants early on.
    As you said, Toughness is practically a crutch feat. Personally, I almost always use Dueling over Two-Weapon Fighting for my main character just to avoid making the game too easy. I never had any major issues in combat. However, Two-Weapon Fighting is objectively the better of the two. Flurry is my go-to attack option, though I do change things up from time to time. Weapon Focus (later Specialization) Lightsaber I found somewhat useful.
    POWERS:
    Must Have: *Master Speed, Force Wave, *Force Immunity, Master Battle Meditation, Force Breach, Dominate Mind
    Important: Master Heal, Force Armor, Mastor Valor, Master Energy Resistance, Statis Field, Force Storm
    Avoid: Force Body, Drain Force, Dual Strike, Force Redirection
    Anyways, keep up the good work.

  • @Sevanhya
    @Sevanhya Před 3 lety +1

    Great guide. I like having a 14 int for more skill points, especially since you need various skills high to craft certain items. I sacrifice my Con initially, since I can get it higher later on for the implants. The other way around you lose skill points you might have had. You also need computer and repair to fix your droid. I love having crafting gear to bump up certain skills when I need them.

    Hey !
    What a shame I've discovered your youtube channel just now...
    the way I like to play Sentinel is to focus heavily on melee combat and get all the buff force powers and after let's say I complete my first planet ( or first half Onderon for example) I start going very heavy on force powers and the dark side of the force and have an insane AOE damage for the rest of the game which destroys everything in it's path.
    None the less it was a great video i hope you keep doing stuff like this bcs you are just as amazing as the game itself !

  • @fierypickles4450
    @fierypickles4450 Před 2 lety +1

    Hot take, wish there was a harder difficulty in kotor2 because there arent a lot of dark jedi you fight who even force you to use force immunity or sentinel passives. They should have some of the jedi hunters to be dark jedi and make them have strong force powers. Kotor 1 had harder battles and you def feel the need for immunity and sentinel immunity. Kotor 2 just felt too easy, you were just too broken.

    @ingolf82 Před 2 lety +1

    Starting Stats:
    Strength: 8 (useless for a sentinel, so leave it where it is)
    Dexterity: 12 (this is what you use for lightsaber combat damage instead of strength after you pick finesse: melee weapons feat later on)
    Constitution: 8 (useless at the start of the game as you will use Dexterity to dodge stuff, you will boost this a bit later on for the implants, at the start of the game you don't need this)
    Intelligence: 18 (this is what will turn you into a god later on, get this to 20 ASAP, then spend points in Dex, wisdom and charisma after that)
    Wisdom: 13 (boost this after getting 20 intellect)
    Charisma: 13 (boost this after getting 20 intellect)
    Skills:
    pick 4 in each of the class skills, then pick 1 in demolition and 1 in repair as you have 4 left over and cross class costs 2. the reason you get so many skills is because of the high intellegence you picked earlier. with 18 intellegence, you get 28 skill points. meaning you can max out all 6 class skills and have 4 left over which is very good. with 14 intellegence, you only get 20 skill points. if you have 16 intellegence, you get 24 skill points, but you want 20 intellegence so you start with 18 :)
    Starting feat:
    Demolition class skill and when you level up to level 2, pick repair class skill. so you can boost those as well.
    This is the starting build I would go for. you are not so great early on in the game, but very fast, you will turn into a very powerful character with this setup.

    isn't force storm also guaranteed damage like saber throw even if it is resisted? except you know better because when it's no resisted it stuns the enemy for a turn and deals double damage?

      Force storm is guaranteed damage, but it doesn't have a chance to stun. Also it's probably better to look at it dealing normal damage when it's not resisted rather than double damage haha, and when it's resisted it deals half damage.

      @@GamingYourOwnWay yes but you are overlooking something - Force Storm deals 1-6 points of damage for every level of your character. Saber throw deals 1-6 points of damage for every TWO levels of your character. so Force Storm when resisted will still deal the same amount of damage as saber throw and when it is not resisted it will deal double the damage of saber throw as well as hitting everyone around you at any range and not just in front of you. Also force storm definitely does stun weak enemies at least when it is not resisted I've been able to stun lock a bunch of troopers with it. they just raise their arms up and cower as the lightning strikes them and don't attack - maybe it is not a stun but it certainly is a turn cancel which effectively is a stun if you spam it. Either way a resisted force storm will still deal the same damage as saber throw and this is why i don't understand your reasoning for choosing saber throw when force storm statistically dominates it in everything except force point cost for light side jedi - which never matters honestly

      It truly does not stun enemies, there's no stun in the description, that's just their reaction animation. The ability to attack back to back times is a bug, not a feature, and can happen with abilities other than force storm. That being beside the point, there is an argument for a lower WIS light side character to use adv. saber throw over force storm, since sentinels will likely have lower WIS and lower force point pools, they can get more uses of saber throw than they can force storm + the dark side penalty. That being said, like I say at the beginning of every single video I record, people should pick the powers that they prefer. If force storm is your favorite power of all time, then you should use it!

      I also had to go back and watch part of the video since I made it 2 years ago lol, but I definitely said "get force storm, it's super fun"? I also said, "you don't really need saber throw". So I'm confused how this whole discussion started haha

    Do you still recommend 14 con for kotor 1?

      @GamingYourOwnWay  Před 2 lety

      You can't really go wrong with 14 con in either game. If you dropped 2 points off and put them into something else, I don't feel like you're really going to see a sizeable difference, so do what sounds fun to you!

    The only problem with sentinel is that kotor is not pvp game. All of the perks are pvp and solo based. The probability someone stuns you is negligible. Finished the game twice within the month(guardian and consular). And remember being crucially stunned only once on malachor being consular. But anyways want to play agility sentinel
