Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory comparison Test 2023

- In our big comparison test of nakedbikes up to 100hp that are supposed to be A2-ready, the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory is there, but runs somewhat out of competition. Two reasons: First, it's by far the most expensive, outselling the competition by several thousand euros. And secondly, its 100 hp engine means it can't be throttled down to an A2-compliant 48 hp, so strictly speaking it's not comparable. Originally, we wanted to compare the normal Aprilia Tuono 660 with the other bikes, but unfortunately it was not available.

Great review.
Good review, I’m test riding 1 next Tuesday and hoping it’s satisfactory because on paper it’s a bike I’m looking for. In Australia the Factory goes for just under AUD$23k yes $23k, but on special now for just under 20k. I stand at 168cm or 5’6’’ tall so I hope I’m not too short. Thanks.
That's a nice looking bike.
I like it a lot.
I rode a T660 for 2 years and I must admit I had NO complaints about lack of torque or low/mid range responsiveness at all; with the Factory's smaller sprocket/pignon that can't be such a problem IMHO. My friend rides a prepped CBR600RR and was telling me how the RS660 (similar engine) was performing extremely well on short tracks, he could only overtake at the long straight near the highest speeds of the track
all about perspective really, if you have ridden very torquey bikes then this might feel a little soft in the low revs
@@Supernova12034 I think it's more about expectations and bragging rights than perspective/experience; I rode Harleys, Diavel, Multistrada, Tuono V4, RSV4, Superduke 1290R, S1000R etc, so I have a bit of perspective (street and track). On track I was about 3 secs slower (on a 2 minute lap) with the Tuono 660 than on my RSV4RF and I know several good pilots (I'm not good) who also only a few secs on that track using an RS660 compared to their (not exactly standard) S1000RR... the riding is just different. If on track or street you can't stand getting passed by 220bhp bikes, then it's indeed a tough pill to swallow. I mainly rode the T660 on the road and, again, I have absolutely no complaints about torque or throttle response; maybe it's different if you live in an area without any police or speed limits, allowing you to go flat-out the entire time :) ; the biggest 'perspective' thing that's bugging many people IMHO is that they can't say they have 200bhp or 120Nm on tap. Just my personal view of course!
I ask an honest question.
Anywhere in the world, can you point to a Chinese graveyard that's not in China?
I just read they pay Chinese community leaders to ensure their remains are repatriated to China upon their passing.
I'm from Glasgow, in Scotland in the UK where we have a rich and vibrant Chinese community but can't ever recall seeing a grave anywhere ever of a Chinese person.
Just buy a BMW already
The Tuono is NOT a naked bike. Quit pretending that it is.
It is. Half fairing and handlebars. It competes with nakeds
I used to agree, but the thing is when you ride it, you find that your upper body and head gets as much wind blast as a naked bike, and so it has no wind protection despite the extra plastic.
Owned a v4, its not a naked. Doesnt feel like it either.@@mala7794
It IS a naked bike. The only differences compared to the others is that the Tuono is good looking.
