Be aware when purchasing a used vehicle even from a licensed dealer as scams like this can slip trough the cracks. I would advise on making sure that all of the indicator lights light up when powering on the vehicle. If your not sure on what type of indicator lights are on your instrument cluster you can always refer to the vehicles user manual and it will tell you all of the indicator lights that are on there. its also a good idea to bring a bright flashlight to shine in the cluster to verify that there is no tape like in my situation covering up any important indicators on the cluster.
