The world just hasn’t been the same without Harry Dean Stanton
This is probably my favorite episode of this series that you did. I always saw Harry in movies, found him so fascinating, and this only made him even more fascinating. I’m so happy you’re posting these vids back up.
Makes me think that Dean Stockwell (briefly mentioned) should get his own episode. Great actor and fantastic, strange person :)
I don't care what anyone else says, this man is a STAR.
I grew up watching this man. And if he was in a movie I was watching or if I knew he was in something I intended to watch, he was the guy I focused on! There just isn't enough words out there to describe this man's presence in film. He was the best there ever was!
The comment on who he thought Andy should have ended up with - Blaine or Duckie - him saying "I dont give a fuck"......made my week!
2017's "Lucky" was sooo good! Like a best of of his moviecareer.
If someone told me this mans backstory I wouldn't believe it, what a life he lived
Whats surprising is if your listening Harry tells us who he became AFTER the battle if Okinawa where he saw and faced death everyday for 80 + days . After hearing that for me life will never hold the value it once had and living in the moment is what us the saving grace in it all ! Thanks Harry ! ❤️
Great comment! thank you.
Best actor that ever lived.
Just reel it in there, cowboy. 🙂 Willing to put him in top ten? Maybe top 20, when you think about it?
Paul Newman and Jimmy Stewart may have a vote?
The character actor to end all character actors, I've binged this whole great series for the last three days and saved him for last; cause Harry Dean Stanton typifies everything great about a damn good supporting actor; He wasn't handsome or flashy, worked in a wide range of genes and movie quality but he ALWAYS delivered a great performance and lifted the world of the movie just from being in it and the few times he was the lead, like in Paris, Texas his performance is so real and textured I could hardly breath watching him. Also he never tried to be cool and thusly was one of the coolest people to ever live.
The world is lesser without him in it.
Swoon. I freaking loved this episode & HDS so much. Legend
This is sadder than the first time you posted it.
Bless this series for coming back. These are all gems of youtube content and even tho ive watched them before all the effort you put in does not go unnoticed
Heck ya man I loved this one he was such a good actor loved him in repo man
I really cannot expressed how happy I am these episodes are back on CZcams, thank you Brandon! We missed you
I loved him in Mr. North in 1988. He had a beautiful voice & what a great range for Mariachi music...for any music! ⭐️♥️💫
RIP, HD. You are loved and missed ❤️❤️🌈⭐️👏❤️❤️
So glad this episode is back! I love it!
Alien and Repo Man and Escape from New York are the 3 movies that really turned me on to this brilliant actor!
Ok. He talks about the turning point being, 'Alien', in the '80s. The dude was 60 years old! If I had to wait that long for my turning point.....😝
Thank you for clips of his great middle career. Boggles the mind that producers, directors, casting dir. couldn't see his talent. HDS always brought his best.
A REALLY GOOD WATCH.
Only just seeing this now, not even finished watching it yet but I am compleled to comment on how good it is and how much I'm enjoying it..
Good job.
@ 8:47 They had the same thing also for TV. It was called the
Code of Practices for Television Broadcasters
That was fantastic! Perfect ending. Oh ya one other thing, it was Repo Man that made me a Harry Dean fan forever
David Lynch approves (so do I).
Wow, great video! The first thing I remember seeing him in was Pretty in Pink. This is my favorite series on youtube at the moment keep up the great work!
Repo Man is one of my favorite cult classic flicks.
Amazing
To know more about Harry Dean Stanton and his personal life? Good luck!
However, his very last film was probably the most truest as to who he was. Watch his final film called "Lucky".
It was surely autobiographical!
My friend, could you help me? I thought in the age of the internet, I could find out anything. But, I am trying to find a movie with Harry that I only got to see 10 minutes of. However, with every passing moment caused greater and greater laughter until I couldn't breathe. Then I had to leave. It was on TV about 40 years ago. Harry had a cowboy hat on, he was 40-50 years old. There was a woman's chorus singing in it, and he was looking at this guy pulling something out of a bag or suitcase. With every passing item, Harry would ask, "What the hell?". And this went on for 10 minutes and just struck me where it hurts. I believe they even showed the women singing just before. I've been trying to find this out for many years. Thank you.
It's OK!! I wrote down the movies Lynch had done and looked them up! It is the Cowboy and the Frenchmen! Though the "What the hell?" part didn't last as long as I thought, that part was on you tube. At least I know now thanks to this documentary. Thank you!
I know he had a funny role in John Dillinger as Pretty Boy Flyod as he gets caught
@@edwardgoering1237 thanks, I’ll look that one up. I’m trying to watch the ones I’ve missed.
Harry Dean Stanton, Warren Oates, Dean Stockwell and others..... way, way underrated, great actors. Todays movies don't have the quality of character actors. Gene Hackman was the greatest character actor of all time. They make movies great, and they don't get number one credit.
going where the sun keeps shining is better than going where the sun isn't shining.
I just realized how similar young Harry Dean Stanton and Sharlto Copley are.
I was 21 when Harry Dean Stanton passed away.
I saw Harry Dean Stanton in The Avengers.
Can you reupload the Keith David one?
That's coming eventually! Every Tuesday at 2:00pm, I upload an old episode.
when you did a video on
Roberts Blossom why did you not bring up his role in
The Last Temptation of Christ was his role to small or did i miss that in your video
RIP
I love this series. Could you do Larry Drake?
I met him in 2016, and while I dont smoke, I smoked a cigarette with him. I'm from Kentucky and it meant the world.
I envy you
@@TheBackFocus it was incredible
In a few spots, if I closed my eyes, I could have been listening to Martin Sheen.
He was good friends w/ Hunter S Thompson. I remember during an interview he talked about how upset he was that he wasn't give the chance to play his harmonica & sing "Danny Boy" during the service.
Not exactly sure, but it sounded like he was under the impression that he wld have a chunk of time set 4 him to perform, & it didn't happen.
You cld see it still bothered him, & he wound up doing it right then during the interview.
I hope it’s on YT somewhere!
i really disappointed that you didnt mention his role as detective junkins in Christine. he was my favorite in the film
I request Captain Haggerty from Zombi 2
9:37 well now you gotta make one about Cameron Mitchell.
8:12 is that James Best? AKA Rosco P. Coltrane
Looks like him & he was in it from ‘67-‘69! And they were both born in KY 12 days apart, I think!
Avenge Me!!!!
First view, first like!
Paris Texas
Harper Simon interview... wondering if that was intentional...? 😅

Can't wait for the return of James Wong-Ho
Did You miss the Christine bit or did I?
21:55 report of the week
? ‘Paris, Texas’
I heard he gave all his money to that preacher
John Carpenter and David Lynch don't really make things that "come down a pipeline" but sure...
