You are spot on there, their relationship was all about humiliation, sadistic in fact.

So she feels inferior and humiliates David to feel worthy. David felt inferior because he was a spoiled heir, and needed someone to remind him that he was unworthy. I don't understand real BDSM relationships and probably never will. But they were a match, weren't they? Goes to show there might be someone for everyone.

David and Wallis were Nazi sympathizers. they even were buddies with Hitler. David was also not the brightest bulb on the tree. Getting them out of British life was important to the security of the nation.

“Intellectual companionship”? I don’t get it. There is no clue that either of them ever read a book (save their own tomes), attended a symphony, ballet, opera or play. One never hears of them going to a lecture, a concert a museum or historical site, even though they globe-trotted for decades. What opportunities they had, only for the asking. Instead, they hung out and gossiped with phony celebrities, lounging in night clubs until the wee hours. The shallowness of their existence is appallingly sad.

Maybe it was an anti-intellectualism they had in common 🤣

At least Wallis had an impeccable fashion sense…Megnut has the uncanny ability to make even the most luxurious garments look cheap as hell.
And Eddy is infinitely more handsome than Hazelnut could ever hope to be. All four are greedy, creepy weirdos though.

Is it known if he was dependent on an abusive Nanny in childhood…? It would explain why he associated this dynamic with love and security.

    • @carolynbasham9749

I just looked it up. He was brought up by some very harsh tutors and Nannies. His brother George had a Nanny who used to periodically starve him, and would pinch him as he went in to see his Parents, which would set his Father the King on him.

    • @LG-nb5ur
      @LG-nb5ur Před 7 měsíci +2

I'd heard the nanny was very abusive to his brother and that's why he stuttered (King George VI) but it would be entitely possible that she was abusive to all the children in her charge.

There are rumors based on an anonymous blog that Harry was so violent with prostitutes in Afganistan that they reported him and refused to service him according to Paula M (CZcams channel). He was so desperate to find a wife by the time Meghan Markle was in the picture that the dumb, ginger prince was easy prey for the likes of Meghan Markle who was willing to ignore his infidelities, drug/alcohol abuse, BDSM fetish, Oedipal complex, etc. and wiling to do things Chelsey and Cressida wouldn't do, what Lady C calls "bedroom gymnastics" to marry him and become a royal.

Wallis figured out the power of intermittent reward. She treated him like crap, reminded him of both of their sunk cost and then was sweet enough, often enough to keep him on the hook.

In my opinion...allegedly, you could insert Harry's and NUTMEG's name for David and Wallis through out this book and call it the traitor Prince...it is mind boggling and how scarily similar these couple's are. Should anyone write a serious book about them from mexit on, this person could use this book about David Wallis as a template....in my opinion.

There is a book about a royal Lord Mounbatten who was bisexual and also a pedophile with weird sex fetishes that taught other male members of the royal family to sleep with men, women and children was okay because they felt entitled. He lived in a time where homosexuality was punished with prison but royals were above the law (i.e. Epstein and Prince Andrew in more recent times). The author was interviewed by Andrew Gold (youtuber) and he said that the royal family and MI5 did everything in their power to stop him from doing his job as a historian and tried to ruin him financially. He submitted many Freedom of Information requests to see files about Mounbatten and they kept refusing his requests for no valid reasons and had files on him (in other words, MI5 was spying on him, a regular, honest citizen wasting time and resources that could be used investigating someone else suspected of terrorism. He considered thisca waste of British taxpayers money).

So interesting. I guess it all makes perfect sense though, as to why certain things happened the way they did, how they got along, and why neither one left the other. I really want to know about his childhood, because it would have taken a lot of horrors to make that sort of thing normalized, better yet, something that he craved and needed. I wonder if there’s a book that gets into how the royal children were raised back then? 🤔

    • @carolynbasham9749

Remember the film " The King's Speech" ? Edward's abdication was devastating to hus brother as he had a terrible stammer. They had a little brother with severe epilepsy and they were ashamed of him and hid him away. He died young. The children were closer to their nanny than their parents. I think both boys were emotionally damaged

    • @ashleycormier5714

@@carolynbasham9749 I’ll have to look into that movie, I haven’t seen it. It’s really terrible how the nanny’s would raise the children, discipline them, etc. I never knew they had another brother either. I just don’t understand how back then the royal’s were such cold people, esp to their own children. I feel like it comes from a long line of dysfunctional parenting and abuse though. ‘If you don’t know any better you can’t do better’ sort of thing. Nowadays though, you had the exact opposite of that with Harry. Maybe he should’ve had some discipline in his life and he wouldn’t be parading around acting like a fool!!

@@carolynbasham9749they didn't "hide the brother away" he was sent to the country to improve his health which was a common medical prescription for people with health issues the medical profession did not understand..such as epilepsy.

When you were describing how Wallis demeaned David every day and he liked it so he clung to her. It struck me as the same dynamic as dominatrix and subservient. Only Wallis got tired of the role and he was as hooked as he could be. I see plain as day some of the exact same threads of the Windsor marriage in the Sussex marriage.

Thank you, Cheere Denise, I enjoyed your reading SPARE and now this about the Traitor King, ex-Royal, Harry and ex-king Edward V111 seem so alike with their choices of wife its uncanny. Also, I am shocked they were so thick in with Hitler and especially Wallis with Ribbentrop. She sounds as cold to him as he said his parents were to him, yet he was so in love with her, strange! Keep up your brilliant reading of this and love from Sussex UK

A really fascinating little book about her is The Last of The Duchess by Caroline Blackwood (herself a very interesting person). Lascelles lacerating description of EP is also quite compelling. I came here because of Tyler Zed (who has surely written one of the great American memoires of this century) and its a contrast.

No doubt, Edward, loved being called a mosquito in front of everyone, and to 'go away' by Wallis!! . (is this love) the mind boggles with these pair. Take a look at the wedding pictures, how miserable they both look, no hugging, no kiss, no holding hands, in fact it looks like they were attending a funeral.
