I disagree here. It's obvious what the Prophet he himself practiced. So how could 1 assume that a beard maybe be short or only on the chin?
It is like saying linguistically Salah means prayer or is synonymous to Dua so one who prays in any manner is in Salah.
Refer to the opinions of Sheikh Asim al Hakeem and Dr Muhammad Salah.
This is a subjective arguement and no real evidence to support that the beard can be short.
The fact that there are several evidences to say that Sahabah grew to a fist length suggests that this was the RULE not the exception to the rule.

Yasir qhadi is very misleading in his teachings. He is always saying I think but never quote a hadith to support his arguments. According to the concensus of scholars it is forbidden to trim the beard below fist length and to let it grow naturally is the best option as the prophet (SAW) did himself. However it's permissable to trim it if it exceed fist as some of the sahabas did.

"Mustahab" is never a justice for a sunnah which all of the companions follwed. Leave every argument, just show a single evidence that only one of the companion had trimmed his beard under the fist length. Forget the companions, what about the later two generations? This video is not suitable for mass eductional propose. Sheikh should have published it from his personal CZcams Channel ig. May Allah guide us all.

Some scholars say you can cut it to a fist full and here Yasir Qadhi somehow claims that this is the optimal length. Classical scholars didn't say explicitly you're allowed to grow it to the floor, which few men can even do even if they wanted to, so Yasir Qadhi argues they expected you to cut it. -
Alhamdulillah for a beneficial video! I also wanted to add, despite it not being asked in the video, is that some of the looks of beards can be related to genetics. Some brothers can't grow a beard. Some can't grow a beard longer than their chin. Some can grow their beards down below their pecks and so on and so forth . I do understand what the Sahabah did and the bare minimum of having and trimming a beard, but like the sheikh mentioned, if a brother looks like he "shaved" his beard and muslims are automatically labeling the brother as "sinful" it wouldn't be islamically wise to say. Allah knows everything in this dunya and in the akhirah while we only know based on certain events, actions, etc. Insha'Allah, we refrain from excessive assumptions and do our best to refrain from going into the path of Shaytan. Ameen.
    Al-Hujuraat (49:12)
O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful.

Bro the whole reason there’s differences of opinions among scholars for all these issues is because certain issues have no clear evidence from Quran or sunnah. I guarantee that there’s no clear explicit narration where the Prophet (saw) commanded any specific length or how much. He simply said lengthen.
The problem is, one group takes this to mean that you must let it grow infinitely, while there are authentic reports from the sahaba that they cut up to fist lengths. Meaning they saw nothing wrong with it. Yet the prophet (saw) never himself said only up to fist length...
So what will you do? It’s not as easy to say you can discard all these opinions and just follow what the Prophet (saw) said when he was silent on some issues like this which are more complex.

Also Darhi is Farz or Wajib, not its length. The daleel is from Quran that Shaitan said he would push people to ruin the Takhleeq, or what Allah has made.
The other Daleel is that the Prophet PBUH in one hadith curses the women who try to look like men and those men who try to look like women.
Hence, if you have facial hair on your face covering the chin and cheeks which is enough for people to generally call it a beard, than you are obeying Allah and His Messenger PBUH.
If you keep it longer, up till the "Nehar" which is the point at the bottom of your neck which allignes with the shoulder bones, than that is Mustahab because the Prophet Muhammad PBUH's beard naturally grew to that length, hence one of the reasons why some Sahaba cut their beards after a wrist full.

Because Yasir Qadhi "thinks" it? The sahabah and tabi'een understood the rullings better than all of us and all the scholars who came after that.. This video spreads falsehood, he himself is making rulings on his "own opinion" cause he himself trims his beard more than a fist. Bring proof to the table that states it is makruh and not haram to trim more than a fist of the beard? And even if it was makruh a wise muslim wouldn't want to miss a great reward with that, but this "Imam" does mmm, but unfortunately it is haram an not makruh (to cut more than the fist) and thus sinfull. Yasir Qadhi is a joke to just make his own rulling out of nowhere and nothing. If he himself wants to trim it that his choice but to do as if that is a rulling and preaching other muslim man it is allowed "as long as it a beard" tas if this is what Islam teaches or it would be "at least" makruh what nonsense falsehood is this. This is Ahlul Kalaam.. Please than how is it that the Prophet SAW did not say; have a beard (as long as it a beard according to the people that would be enough). No instead he said; trim the moustache and LEAVE the beard alone (i.e do not touch it cut it let it grow naturally and thick). I'm out.

Who is Yasir Qadhi to decide what lenght is the right and what is wrong? He's just defending his own fashion. When almost all sahabis and prophets grew beards who is he to decide after 1400 years that trimming the beard to as his beard is not a sin? There are ahadith in which Prophet Muhmmad SAWW told us to not follow the non Muslims and. I urge to all Muslims to not fall victim of these celebrity scholars like Yasir Qadhi and Omer Suleiman who after 1400 years have their own stance about something which is established in the ummah and proven by hadiths.

I grow beard too. In fact, i usually maintain thicker beard than i have in my own dp. I used to shave very rarely, like, twice or thrice maximum, during a year, that too with the intention of growing the beard back. I do it mostly when the skin under beard goes dry or itchy. Is it okay to shave in such scenario with the intention of growing the beard again?

Fun fact: A lot of normal, healthy men are unable to grow beards. The hadith where the prophet PBUH commanded the sahaba to grow their beards and trim their moustaches has a very specific context around it that should not be ignored. It was a time when the "mushrikeen" grew out only their moustaches and shaved their beards entirely, and so thats why the prophet PBUH commanded the sahaba to grow out their beards and trim the moustache - as an act of defiance so as to avoid looking like them and to be able to more easily identify a muslim. We live in an age where growing your beard is fashionable in all cultures and religions, mushrik and muslim alike; the context and reasoning around growing the beard no longer applies and not to mention, with the spread of islam, there are now multiple ethnic groups practicing who are far less likely to have those Arab genetics for growing a glorious beard (Ie. Asians). I'm personally a man of North African decent who, at best, can only grow a patchy moustache, and a hideous, tiny chin garden; nothing but a few stranded hairs on the sides. My father has a similar, patchy mess at 50 years old, only a lot more dense, and has never been able to grow a proper beard. Allah knows best, but in my opinion, it would be unfair to consider men who choose to clean shave sinful, all things considered.

      @man77mk Před 4 lety +1

You actually have mentioned a very reasonable reason, and I admire your way of thinking.
There's another matter should be raised, and it's: if the hadith of the prophet was in certain context, does what you reasoned apply in all matters?
I believe this question is very important, answering it will say if those who shave completely consider to be sinful or not.
Fiqh scholars and Asool Al-fiqh would be able to tell for sure, Allah said ask those who know if you didn't know.
Please let me know if you found an answer.

Fiqh is not derived from a single hadith in isolation but rather looking at the big picture: what do all of the ayat of Qur’ān and all of the ahadith say about this? How did the Sahaba and tabi’ūn understand this? What was their practice?
There’s also the issue of language. A word in the Qur’ān or ahadith may have been understood differently by the Sahaba. You’re focusing on the English word “leave” from a translation of the hadith. How was the Arabic word used in those times?
How do we learn the understanding of the Sahaba and tabi’un? We study the writings of their students, the earliest scholars of Islam.
Many novices don’t understand this but there were different opinions among the Sahaba and tabi’ūn on many issues of fiqh. That’s ok because you will find many of those different opinions have valid justifications and arguments. As long as you’re sincerely trying to obey Allah and the prophet ﷺ - by learning the practice and understanding of the earliest generations- and not following your own whims, you’re good.

Also, the Prophet PBUH never cut his beard, his beard naturally grew till the "Nahar" which is the point where the bottom of the neck allignes with the shoulder blades. This is also equal to a fist full, one of the reasons why some Sahaba cut the beard after a fist.
