    Thank you, Brandy! I haven’t had to replace any of my inks yet because I’m still new. But I intend to get some of these so that I can play with the enamel effects. I just learned from you. I hope I don’t make a mess doing this!

    I use a circle punch to punch out the color card stock that matches then I adhere it to the bottom of the spot and store the spot upside down so the ink is at the top just like our big stamp pad.

    I use the color cardstock, a regular paper punch to punch out the circle, then apply yo the top with a glue dot. So helpful to find the re- inker!

    This was great but i changed a bit. I used a hole punch and punched white card stock. After attaching to bottles with glue dots I touched them on the matching stamp pad . Soooo easy and this way colors match ink.

    This series is very helpful. I am mostly self taught, so your videos are so very good for me. I have a very large number of the Stampin blends, and the lights are drying out very fast. I wish they would come up with a refill for them. Than you again for your sharing with us.

    • @1Cheribaby
      @1Cheribaby Před 2 lety

      I want to start by saying Stampin Up has not given this tip so it’s at your own risk to try this. I have refilled many of my blends using denatured alcohol and the reinkers. I remove both caps from the blend marker, remove the brush tip (I have the same tweezers shown here), using a pipette or eye dropper I put 6-8 drops of the alcohol and then add a few drops of color. Replace the nib and both caps…shake it up a bit then lay on its side for a minute. This has worked great for me so far. Started doing this once they started selling blends in pairs instead of just the singles. As I said though…this is at your risk. I have some of the old blends that came light, medium and dark in a little box. I use 2, 3, 4 drops respectively when refilling those.

    • @datasciyinfo5133
      @datasciyinfo5133 Před rokem

      Yes, I have also refilled Stampin Up alcohol markers. It’s not officially recommended but it works well for me. I use Ranger’s alcohol blending solution (has glycerine to help spread) and matching dye refill from stampin up. I had some that were totally dried out (Feb 2015 purchase). If totally dry, soak first in alcohol brush tip side down in a small cup for 10-30 minutes. A few came back at this stage. Some of them were very faint, mostly on the brush tip side. I pulled the tip, added 3 drops of blending solution, then added dye refill 3-5 drops, and added blending solution to the brush tip, before pushing the tip back in. I shake vigorously and let it sit 10 minutes before testing. Don’t add too many drops at first. It’s easier to go darker than lighter. If a “light” gets too dark, wash out the tip by pulling it out and letting it sit on a few drops of blending solution. Add a few drops of blending solution to marker before replacing tip. I got some overflow at this stage. Mop up extra with a paper towel, then add a few more drops of blending solution until color is lightened. In a brown dark marker, I added 2 drops from one color darker than the matching refill and 3 drops from the correct refill and that seemed to do the trick. Anyway, they are all restored. 😊 But this is a hack, so use at your own risk.

    Great tips, Brandy. I was actually just wanting to refill some of my old markers but couldn't get the tip off. I'll have to look for the craft tweezers that you used. Also, I really love the quality of all SU ink pads. However, I really do miss the "old" style stamp pad. I found the hourglass shape was more ergonomic for my hands and the foam pad worked really well. I also still have some of the "ancient" felt type stamp pads. Those are some old colors! 😂 The re-inkers seem to last forever, so I still keep them around.

I store them flat upside-down & when I pick them up to use the lids often are left behind. I am short on space so the spots pads can give me more colored pads to use & fit in a plastic drawer on my bookcase.. Any suggestions. I have tried scotch taping them but I need to cut the tape to get into them each time.
