  • This videos shows you how to re-ink your Stampin' Up! Ink Pads with the Ink Refills! It is rather simple and you don't need to do it real often. When you are stamping and the image isn't coming out nice an crisp and dark, that is when you will need to add some more ink. Also, be sure not to add a ton or the ink pad will become too saturated and your stamped image will be super wet!!!

What is the average life span of most ink pads, do you have to rebuy after a certain amount of time.

That's a bit of a hard question because it all depends on how much you use them. Adding ink refill freshens them up and you can then continue to use them forever. In my 17 years, I have had 2 sets of ink pads and that was because Stampin' Up changed the style and I got the new ones. Otherwise I just refill it when it gets low. ~Laura

@@LaurasStampPad I stored mines away for a few years and now found them all to be dried up even though they were closed and since it’s been so long ago I doubt I can re ink them due to the stock not being available. I just feel like it was so much money down the drain.

@@SacredSagittariusSagReadings I understand. Here is a link to the current colors so you can see which ones are still available. www.stampinup.com/categories/shop-products/featured-products/ink-coloring?dbwsdemoid=82500
I haven't had any experience with leaving them set without using them as I use mine all the time so I am not sure what to say about that. Sorry! ~Laura

What about if you can no longer get the re inkers?

You could get a similar color in the new re-inker and create a new ink pad. For example, if it was an older color of blue, you could add a new, brighter/darker color on top of it, put a new label on it and now you have a current color. As for getting that old color, there is no way to re-ink an old ink pad without the re-inker. Hope this helps! ~Laura
