I just bought this. I am very excited. Waiting for it in the mail. I do not even play piano... I am a drummer, but I want to learn some basics of piano.
Dammmnn, I came to this video just to check out a microkey. Was not expecting to hear someone who could play so well. Very rare to hear someone who can actually play piano amongst todays electronic music noodlers.
I like potable aspect of all your gear..I may invest likewise. great for light travel when you need to get some work done without carrying a ton of gear at normal size. Very, very nice!
Kris, what a fantastic piano skills! I play guitar and always wanted to learn piano. I guess MIDI keyboard is a solution! But i have a question, for those who start learning keys, how many octaves and keys to begin with? What would be better to consider irig 37 or Korg's stuff 49, 61? As for music, I'm more into blues and jazz.
If you want to learn then I recommend 49 key & get full sized keys. That way it translates well. If you get to use to smaller keys then you will have a really hard time adjusting to the bigger ones
Excellent review - thank you Kris ! I' very much a learner but will definitely add this to my short-list of travel keys options for practice and learning .
Hi, can you read music sheet in the ipad using another app at the same time you’re using vst apps? And can you list which vst apps did you use in the video? thank you and great playing.
The universal patch sounds like a combination of choir voices and waterfalls. By the way, you are a really good piano player. I am visually impaired and I wanted to play the piano but my music teacher at the time who’s blind like me says that my hands wasn’t good enough to play. But naturally, I can sort of play by ear but my hand techniques are wrong but I know what keys songs are in. I can also play the guitar which I was taught to play, the banjo, percussion instruments as well as a little bit of the drums.
Great review, thank you very much. Can you give me some ideas of apps with keyboard sounds? Like the ones you are using in your Ipad please? Thanks in advance
Do you find the smaller keys difficult to play accurately with the muscle memory you've already built-up playing full-sized keys? You seem to play just fine on it in the video. Did it take some time to get used to, or it was a very easy transition?
For those wondering if this works with Android users. I emailed the company and they said the only app you can use for Android is Koassilator which is sold for $20. Good luck.
The microkey has the same keys of the korg microstation, small but very good in sensitivity and essy to control. It's a pity it has no standard midi out, i could use it as second keyboard for my microstation
looking for a way to use other voices on my Suzuki Q Chord through a midi which is supposed to be possible but which I can't seem to find a way to do.. any suggestions? I prefer the piano or the synth voices on the instrument but all its voices lack depth and clarity .. playing the instrument is a dream but the quality of the voices is its greatest weakness.. thanks.
pls.do.reply sir.. i want 2 have a midi.keyboard.controller can u teach me.how to connect it to an ipad and pls.show me.how to search sound patches what apps r u using tnx sir and be blessed always
I was going to ask about latency too because the only time I tried a bluetooth amp & speaker with my ipad using a music ipad app to play live, the latency was frightful
doug b thank you so much for watching my videos Doug there is actually no latency at all with the Bluetooth keyboard I absolutely love it especially when I go on the airport and take it on the plane with me they can actually fit over overhead compartment and below your seat
Louisa Livingstone: What you were experiencing was the delay of audio being transmuted over Bluetooth. Digital audio has a lot of data to transmit, to get to the Bluetooth speaker, and so has a "frightful" delay. The keyboard is only transmitting MIDI data, which is much less data, and so does not produce a noticeable delay. The iPad who's software is making the audio, is connected to the speakers with normal audio cable, and so no delay is heard. Hope this helps explain.
Yeah found the same delay problem with the bluetooth speaker. Thought it was the keyboard delay but turned out the be the audio transfer to bluetooth speaker. Wired connection to the speaker solved the delay problem.
John C Gibson The keyboard is just a controller all the sounds are coming from the iPad you can download Your favorite apps into the iPad and control the sounds coming from the iPad
@@KMNKeyboardVault Thanks for the info. I am trying to learn the chords because I have been dancing argentine tango and like to learn about suspension and the mood progression. The teacher thinks I am a musician, but I will just learn to play lullabies to put them to sleep LOL.
You can use the USB connection with a micro usb adapter to connect it to your Android. Theoretically you could connect it with the bluetooth feature, but I don't know of any Android apps that support MIDI over Bluetooth yet. There are plenty that work with MIDI over USB though. Make sure your Android supports USB On-The-Go (USB OTG), not all Android devices can act as a USB host.
Would you recommend this setting for a piano student that is just starting out, that wants to learn to play contemporary piano compositions, but wants to invest little in the start?
We are in the same situation. I ordered mine. I need to learn the chords and scales because I am taking Argentine Tango dance lessons, and some of my peers have 3 years of college music major studies. I don't want to be left out when they talk about the chord progressions. I am watching Jane's tutorial. And she does the scales with 4-5 octaves. I did take piano lessons when I was 5 years old for 1 year. I am in my 40s now, but there are things you never forget. I recommend contemporary piano lullabies. They are contemporary, but they are really easy. And most importantly, they give you something that you can internalize.
One thing for sure, if he can pull the thing out of the box and play like that, there is NOTHING about the keyboard to gripe about. I suggest we spend more time practising and less time commenting on the drawbacks of the unit, lol.
It may have mini keys, but they seem to be of higher quality than those on many of those cheap M-Audio or Acorn keyboards. How long did it take you to get used to playing those smaller keys? The size doesn't seem to be a problem in your case. I still have a Roland A-49, but it's partly broken so I need a replacement, ideally with 61 keys. Since it should nevertheless be compact in order to fit on my desk, the Microkey 2 seems very interesting to me.
Great content, but plz update new video and this time show how you make the connection step by step...with new iPad ... today is sun jun 14, 2020 . Thanks
Thank you for this demo. Since you have played the 37 keys iRig, so when you decided for the Korg Microkey did you have difficulty deciding between a microkey-49 and a microkey-61? Thanks in advance for any input.
Great video and playing dude. How is the key release specifically compared to the irig? On the irig I have to completely let the key rise up after hitting it before it will register the same note again, so It's not very expressive.
Thanks for taking the time. Finally an actual review with someone playing and not just talking shit from the specifications.
I learned so much just watching this video. I am so glad I clicked on this. Nice.
Very good player at these mini keys! 👍🏻👏👍🏻
"I'll tell you what man -- you are a fantastic piano player and I know what I'm talkin' about - been playing the piano myself for 68 years..!
Thank you so much my Friend I cant read music but it all in the feeling and when the piano sounds great that all it counts

I love how the session ended with "Imagine".

The fender mini strat case fits this thing perfectly if your looking for a good travel case
very helpful - thanks Kris 🎹❤️
Excellent review - thank you Kris !
I' very much a learner but will definitely add this to my short-list of travel keys options for practice and learning .
did you get? I wonder how easy it is to pack securely in checked luggage. I wish there was a carryon solution for 61 keys
I have the i rig. You can get a lightning cable for it. I have issues with the way it has note drop outs. Tempted to grab a Kong also...
You should be sponsored by Korg cause you sold me this keyboard. 👍
Hey my friend thank you so much for watching my video I will definitely ask them but I never approach them before but I will
You are awesome at playing! Thanks for sharing.
my jaw dropped as soon as you played the first couple notes :O what a talent !
love the way you play piano! very talented! thanks for sharing
great video, I am moving from the same IRig to the same Korg! regards.
Wow ! You're Great with the Piano ! And thanks for this video!

Hi Kayanda, I can give you some free lessons via Zoom and guide you on your hand position, etc...
@@jeremyhellier6372 unfortunately, I don’t have the keyboard yet. But that would be cool.
Good sound thanks for your review
thank you for inspiring me to buy the real one, nice and small and still professional.
Love the way it sounds for a baby keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love mine. The keys feel great too.
Amazing skills. Cool controller.
Thanks!
Great review, thank you very much. Can you give me some ideas of apps with keyboard sounds? Like the ones you are using in your Ipad please? Thanks in advance
Oh man I wish I could play like you! Nice work!
Should I get midi 88 keys with seperate external speakers, rather than 88 keys keyboard with built in speakers, because the cost will be halved?
Hi I cannot take my Yamaha Reface with me to the airplane. How do you manage to put this under your seat? Excellent Review! My question Is serious :)
9.4 minutes before you play the board is ridiculous. Hop to it.
Thank you Man.
I love M1 Piano 8 and 16

Pleasent demo!
A hakuba case fits this perfect
If I get one do I have to use a ipad/tablet? And if so, is there a particular ipad or tablet that I should use with it?
Would you recommend this for someone with small hands who want a keyboard to fool around and to learn a bit of piano?
awesome midi keyboard👍👍
is there a minor latency when playing with garageband?
almost certainly
You man can play. Watching your review is a pleasure.
I've been wondering about this keyboard. Do you know if it works on Windows. I would also be most likely using it with usb.
i want one so so badly, where can i get one exactly the same, i love it, i’m learning to play piano
Are your speakers wired or is there a way to connect the keyboard with bluetooth speakers and the iPad via bluetooth at the same time?
Curious if you know... you may have been. Can you use the Bluetooth midi controller at the same time as Bluetooth speakers?
Great playing Kris
Steve Kozak Thank you so much my friend I’m listening to your videos I subscribed awesome band
Does it work for ipad os 14? Bluetooth and wired? I really want to buy soon thank you
Yes
M-audio keystation 61 or KORG MicroKEY AIR 61 ?? wish is the best
Wow thats a good piano. Does the skill comes with it? :)
What would you prefer me to buy a midi keyboard or a digital piano ?
Your playing is amazing :D ! Do you think the new micro key isnas good ? Thank you!
The microkey has the same keys of the korg microstation, small but very good in sensitivity and essy to control. It's a pity it has no standard midi out, i could use it as second keyboard for my microstation
Is the key size, action, and feel similar to that of the keys on the Microkorg XL? I really like those.
I'm wondering, how do the keys feel compared to other mini key options, such as Akai LPK / MPK 25, M-Audio mini models or Arturia Minilab?
merci . Really good video .
What's the price of the complete set, is it available in india?
How is different from Microkey 2 61 apart from Bluetooth connection? And how to connect if it’s not the Air model?
I want one!
Is it hard to go from striding on this guy back to a full size piano?
Did the software bundle only have the Korg M1 and not the complete Legacy Collection?
Great video. I have one and love it..
guys does anyone know if the microkey 37 air by korg can be used on android or Windows10 like this one? And if so what should I buy with it?
Hi! Great performance demo! Do you think iPad is a good live rig instrument!?
HI, great review. question; are the keys weighted?
thanks for sharing. great playing, bro.
Look at you bro, How simple is to get your happiness in your life, just grab micro key and iPad, no need other fancy thing :) bravo

Yet another reason why Apple "cancelling" the headphone jack is a terrible idea.

Pretty good. Is it compatible with android?
Has it the same "gran piano" feeling touch with keys? Or are the keys like a "soft" keyboard?
TheArtOfHands you will not find any mini keyboard controllers with a natural graded hammer weighted action.
thanks for sharing video
hello, may I ask, what is the software you are using on the tablet?
Omg what’s the name of the app on your iPad?

Are the keys full size like the keys of regular keyboard? They seem to be smaller than regular size keys.
No this is mid size keys if you type in on CZcams my newest video about the VEETOP 88key folding piano That is almost like full-size keys
Does it have spirit function?cause I wanna have a bass for left and piano for right.
