    I also want to randomize the particles' scale in order to give the impression that when the asteroid explodes, there'll be both smaller debris and larger debris that come out of it...plus, I'll increase the velocity to make the particles a little bit more realistic.

      Check in "scale" -> "scale amount random", that will make the particles to vary in size
