We visited Dambuster Studios to reveal how the Dead Island 2 team spanning multiple people across several different departments combined their skills to construct Dead Island 2's new gore tech. Dead island 2 taught a lesson today to all the other gaming companies regarding gore
And Dying Light 2 responded with a more, better technique.
@@TheWow1323 Dying light 2 does not use a gore system even close to the detail this does. Techland is a great dev studio but discrediting the work done here just make you seem like a fanboy.

@@SoOptic75 Tell me you havent played the latest Dying Light 2 version without telling me you havent played it. Btw, Killing Floor 2 back in 2016 did this with the gore system in a heavily modified UE3, so its not ground breaking nor new.
@@TheWow1323 yet again you're spewing info without being correct. The gore system even after the update is not localized. There are set cut points unlike di2 where dismemberment can happen anywhere. Also the "gore" system for old unreal was just a 2 layer system with a jpg as the inner texture.

They can license out this tech and keep updating it....would be huge for most games moving forward.

As we see the guy shooting the zombie in the head, fracturing its skull and revealing its innards.
The only other games I've seen try this is Dead Space and Doom Eternal, but Dead Island 2 is on another level. I'm unfathomable impressed with what they've created here. This reminds me of the Nemesis system in terms of new ideas being made in the AAA space.
Resident Evil 2 Remake didn't do the dynamic dismemberment, but it did inner layers. Very impressive there when it came out.

It's absolutely awesome to see triple A games putting this kinda tech into gore systems. In games like this where satisfying combat and kills really matter, they did a phenomenal job.

Honestly Dead Island 1's gore tech left me waiting for the game for years after the original announcement, they've done well to save it until release this time. Nice to see just how much progress they've made in 12 years.

the gore in this game makes dying light 2 look like its pg12,this is what gore should be like,also love the blood puddles and splatters that dont vanish in 3 seconds in 2023

@@Perversatorit’s so sad that thats what ends up happening with these cool concepts, one game manages to use it exceptionally and then it gets shelved forever because since it’s a patented concept no one else gets to use it.
Shadow of Mordor did it as well, they had an amazing thing with the Nemesis system and while the games are incredible, it’d been great if other developers were able to use it for their games
