OK so I dont want to rock the boat because while I really did enjoy this version of O Holy Night by Morissette I am still in two minds of which one I prefer. I am not sure if you have seen Katrina Velarde sing it in the one take covers but she smashed it out of the park too. Probably the biggest conundrum for me has been trying to decide which one I liked the most and its a bloody tough one lol.

Daz.....This is a song....you can enjoy...in April.....Aug....any time of the year. It will be a LONG time......before a better cover of this song is made. LOL....Christmas celebrations begin , the first day of Sept, in the Philippines..... they are known as the "" Ber "" months . I am with you, as far as seeing this girl LIVE ....she , I have heard is even better LIVE, and loves to perform.
It surely can and I will need to keep that in mind next year when I release Christmas songs. This year I started the middle of December. That is way to late for my Filipino followers lol.

Morrisett just got through her U.S. tour last month she was also in Washington D.C. N.Y. and Atlantic City which is about as close to the U.K. as she got on the the east coast.

Morrisette is already legendary. She is truly amazing. The Philippines has so many great singers, but for me it’s Mori and Katrina. Can’t pick a favorite they are both different yet amazing. Let’s hope they finally collaborate because it will be EPIC!
I would love to see a collaboration between Morissette and Katrina Velarde. I havent known either of them any longer than a couple of months but already know that would be a legendary performance. As for Morissette she very quickly became one of my favourite artist. Her voice is just amazing.
It’s really strange it hasn’t happened yet. They are friends, Morissette is even friends with Gigi De Lana as well.

Morissette's perform this version, (3 verse) is slightly longer than others versions which sang by most of the artists in modern days. But, she has transcend us back to the past of 175 years centuries which the first O Holy Night" (original title: Cantique de Noël) is a well-known sacred song for Christmas performance. Originally based on a French-language poem by poet Placide Cappeau, written in 1843, with the first line "Minuit, Chrétien, c'est l'heure solennelle" (Midnight, Christian, is the solemn hour) that composer Adolphe Adam set to music in 1847 which we are hearing over many years past decades and decades until today in 21st century.
So, Morissette is a legend. She singing this song is not showing her singing abilities or technique she used. She is ministering and praise the LORD JESUS that why she sang all her heart out.

As a Filipino, the Philippines🇵🇭 is a very christian country✝️ unlike the Muslim☪️ neighbors in Southeast Asia due to the 333 years colonization of Spain🇪🇸 who kicked out other religions and convert the natives to Catholic. You can see the influence just from the name "Philippines" which came from the name of the Spanish King Phillip II👑. The Spanish🇪🇸 Conquest starts after occupying and colonizing the Rajahnate of Cebu which today is now a province of the Philippines🇵🇭 and that is where Morissette was born👍 There is still some Muslim provinces in the south but 90% of the population are pure Christian. The Philippines 🇵🇭 has the biggest number of Christians in Asia and the 5th largest Christian Nation on the Planet.
And yeah, our country has the longest Christmas season ever starting by the start of BER-MONTHS which starts in September, and the Christmas season ends up in the first week of January.
Anyways, Morissette also recently did a Christmas special at the same settings (Favor Church) where she performed Do You Hear What I Hear, hope you check that out as well❤️

Daz, you may not know but Katrina Velarde is self-taught and became famous by posting videos of herself on CZcams singing into a comb. She taught herself how to edit and mix her videos and even though she used very basic equipment she produced some remarkable pieces. One of my favorite early Katrina works is her cover of This Is Me from The Greatest Showman soundtrack. What Katrina did with this song by herself is astounding. Here’s the link

No Roger I was unaware of this information about Katrina, I plan on watching a lot more of her earlier stuff in the new year as well as some of her more current. I just think she is truly incredible and I am looking forward to watching her sing This Is Me. I really enjoyed the song and the movie so this one is a must.

I do think in terms of technical aspect, this is a better version. The core strength you need to do this version is crazy.
I have to agree with Ci on this one Rupert, I watched the version at the Star Mall and while it was an amazing performance this version just hits different for some reason... Its a bit late for Christmas videos now because I already have them all pre done but next year I was planning on doing a video like that for each country where it is celebrated so the Philippines will definitely be on that list :)

@Rupert Sanchez Morissette's sang the O holy night at Star Mall in her earlier age of 18 years old where at that time, she still developing her voice and which you can see most of her songs, she have idolise Mariah Carey as a image. To me, it was nothing special about singing Mariah version of O holy night with whistle tone is epic. All are copycats. Luckily, in recently days, Morissette has finally found what she wanted to be rather she to become cover queen. Mori has mentioned in her EP, she want to know who she is, not Morissette be somebody else. Even, now her original Akin Ka Nalang in WishBus whistle tones is already bookmark as a legendary piece. What she sang it now, it no longer using her Whistle tone.
